I was told mind power and how the power of thoughts can affect you during treatment or in life in general. You have control of your mind. Why would I want to spend my time thinking and feeling negativity ? What for? When I can change that into happiness. “What consumes your mind, controls your life”. I think positive not because it’ll make everything happy and dandy or easy. I do because why not? I want to be happy. I want to FEEL happiness. A sense of it’s going to be ok.
When you wake up every day, you make that decision of making the best out of your day no matter the circumstances. 💙
When you are in pain and suffering it is almost impossible to stay positive. I have not been able to do it. I have tried and I am still trying but I can't reach th goal you have. I admire you greatly for that.
And that’s ok. You don’t have to be platitude ALL THE TIME. Trust me I have my bad days too. I’ve cried several days in a row. I’ve said I can’t do it several times. I’ve said I wanted to give up. But then that’s when selfishness is out the door for me when I see my kids, my husband, and think of the future instead of the now. It’s ok not to be ok. But you dust your self off and get back up again. You can do it. 💗 I watch a lot of motivation videos and music. You got this.
You named him!! Awesome!! When I named my stoma (Irene), she was so much easier for me to accept for those months that she was with me. I'm so thankful that you received great news, in that you no longer have any cancer cells. Your attitude and mindset are amazing, and this is why you'll get through everything with flying colors!! Keep your faith! You've GOT THIS!!
You are just incredible to be going thru this cancer journey, with kids, AND going to school!! Holy crap! You truly can do anything you put your mind to! Such good news that your MRI is able to happen nice and quick!

Very frustrating to wait for MRI results that long and worse Doc just wiping the schedule.
People trash our Medical system here but even we would have results by Tuesday morning if scanned Saturday..
I hope you can be fast tracked and reschedule surgery for 1st week of October at latest.

I totally forgot to tell you that my port has been a lifesaver for so many reasons. I get to do infusions at home on my own three times a week. My veins just stopped working after three decades of use. I am very blessed to have my port for labs, surgeries, hospital, and at home.
Your video popped up in my feed, and I can’t tell you how emotional I got, from listening to your story and what you have been through. I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease almost 15 years ago now. I’ve had the temporary ileostomy bag, for a year, just to try and let things heal in my GI tract. I’ve had blockages, fistulas, fissures, Ig tube, narrowing from all the surgeries. So many surgeries I lost count, tests, hospitalizations, drinking all the gross bariums. I lost my grandmother and two aunts to colon cancer. Your RUclips videos, are help me understand and learn, as well as heal. I’m like you I try and laugh about what I am going through, just so my parents and family, don’t worry so much. But, a person gets tired sometimes and breaks down, as do you, so I don’t feel so alone. Thank you sooo much for your videos and I include you and your family in my prayers at night.

Vanessa, I know how disappointed you must feel about your surgery being postponed. In my life experience, sometimes things happen for a reason and this is a good thing. God's timing is perfect. You are looking so healthy.🌷 Your daughter is a sweetie and has a soft heart. I pray by Christmas this will all be in the past. You certainly have shown people how to go through a very scary situation with grace and acceptance. We are all here for you.

Take care my friend! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I have a stoma for my bladder since it doesn't function. Unfortunately, accidents happen and I know it can be so embarrassing and frustrating, but you got this girl. I am glad you are a survivor. My dear friend thought she had ibs and turns out it was colorectal cancer. It was caught too late and she passed away about three years ago. Keep up the fight and take care.

Oh man! I’m so sorry they had to push it out but I agree - best to make sure your body is ready for another procedure. Sometimes it’s all about Divine Delays too - we may not ever know the “why” so hey - great attitude Vanessa! 💜
Praying for you. I get my ct oct 1st. Sigmoid on the 10/7 and hopefully a week after reversal. I hate this stoma. Leaking and it’s happened in public which sucks. After surgery 4 more rounds of oxilaplatin and 5fu We got this Vanessa!!!❤️
Why did you have to have more rounds after surgery?
@@VanessaLPZ1 They have me doing 8 rounds of oxilaplatin and 5 fu to make sure all the cancer is gone. I only had 1 positive lymph node so I believe that’s why they wanted to do 8 rounds to make sure it is all gone. I asked to have the reversal becuz I am having lots of leaking but they have to stop the chemo after four rounds to do the surgery then will continue with last four rounds and hopefully will be done with all this and start to live a normal life🙏🙏

I stumbled upon your videos just now. Keep strong and positive just as you are. It will give you the best chance of enjoying everyday life while you struggle with this very tough condition. I lost my mam in June to cancer. She was 57. A warrior through it all, never complained but tried to be as honest as she could be.

I've been a Phleb for 48yrs. Yes in our laboratory we all would draw 100 pts per phleb Daily that included pts in wheelchairs, babies, the elderly handicapped. There were always 5 Phlebs out patient..and 5 at the desk processing paperwork, and insurances. Amongst other very difficult tasks. So let me tell you..I've also worked running my own lab station yep! Just me..so it's not the phlebs fault, it's the supervisors who literally work you to the ground. Too bad that you're busy, either you sink or swim ..welcome to the world of medicine. Btw I've worked in hosp. Also besides many many labs and Dr offices..I loved my job, but I wasnt too happy with the bosses. Very demanding job..and the pay sucks. Thanks to retirement. Let the young newbies take over now. Not just anyone is cut out for this job...if you worked as a Phleb? You would know the real way we struggle with trying to get everyone in and out quicker. It's not just a job, it's an art. If you cant perfect it you werent meant for it. Good luck to you..my brother just completed his radiation and chemo he hated it.
Yes!!! 🙌🏼 this is exactly what I meant! Like where’s the lead, supervisor, or even manager? If your team is this behind and is struggling how come they don’t help? Oh yeah they got more “important” things. Idk what happened with everyone needed labs. I felt bad for the phlebotomist too

When I did my gastrografin, I passed some mucus right after the procedure and next day as well. It made me feel like I was pooping again. My doctor warned me about it before the procedure and said it is completely normal. So I did not bother to let him know. My reversal in March went well and my bowel function is all back to normal about three weeks after the surgery. Wish you good luck on your reversal! Everything will be alright.

@@VanessaLPZ1 was it pinkish? I passed mucus for a couple times even before the gastrografin. I remember seeing some pinkish color, not red, just slight trace of pink color. Anyways, it is good that your doctor is cautious. Hope things turn out just fine.

Vanessa, I’m so sorry everything is being delayed. What is it with the medical group there? It seems like everything takes forever or gets rescheduled. I really feel for you because I know how much stress and anxiety this causes. Praying all goes well.

How frustrating this must be! I know that you live to every date that you get to get something done and when they cancel it, it's really offsetting. What I don't understand is they make a problem about the mucus coming out of the intestines. I also had that happening some times, but my oncologist said that it is normal, because the bowl always makes mucus, even if you have an ileostomy. So , I would not be worried too much about it, but it sucks that everything is postponed now because of that. Don't loose the courage, it is all almost finished, just with a little delay. Big hug!

My mom had colostomy almost a yr ago. Approx 4 months later she started having a similar mucus issue. I talked to numerous home care nurses and most of them were familiar with it, said body still produces by products etc. Her colon Dr also Did follow up exam and scan due to amount of mucus,said they didn’t see any issues. Eventually it stopped….btw, thanks for the tip of using Kleenex when changing your bag. Super helpful and makes it easier.

My proctocolectomh has been kn hold since beginning of Covid. I’ve bedn living with a hemicolectomy since 2011. I am sure they are moving at their pace for your surgery for many reasons. Don’t get didcouraged or upset. Stay strong hun 💪🙏🏻

You're doing amazingly well! I know there have bn ups and downs as there are in life, but you are a soldier!! You're spirit and your mindset are right! This will be behind you so very soon, BUT I know it seems like bot fast enough! I work in home health with cancer and hospice patients, most of which have dementia so it's extremely challenging mentally and physically. I would advise you to call your Dr's off and have them call radiology but a rush on the results. They can definitely do that for you no matter what they say, and if the Dr rushes it they will get it done. As the Lord says "Do not dismay" You're in the home stretch mama! Xo
