I simply cannot handle how incredibly inspiring this is…no real words..I just hope you’re videos reach as many as possible and it truly is a industry standard.
I just wanna say man, well other wedding videos are good. Yours actually are powerful. I feel like this is something that the couple will want to show their kids, where other wedding videos tend to be something that you show your kids and they’re kind of interested. But yours they’re actually drawn in.
Matt Johnson led me here. And oh my god! i came here for a couple of ideas and i'm left completely inspired! This was like watching a movie. Seriously, you've made me rethink everything I've been doing, the "cookie cutter" template I've been sticking to. You are next level!
Bro. I’ve seen you on IG, but got turned on to your content by Matt Johnson. I knew you made films, but had no clue you created television style films. This is incredible! I wish you nothing but blessings my guy! Top notch!
Hi Justin, with all these channels of audio, and with you wearing headphones that communicate with your other crews, who is monitoring the sound. What if a radio mic goes dead, you won't know about it until the end of the day will you? And are the radio mics recording internally or is it all going to the Xoom? Thanks man. Loving the BTS.
Hey. No one monitors it but I consistently go around double checking. Especially before key moments. They all record internally. Thanks so much for watching 🥹
Quick back story: for our wedding, we didnt have a pro videographer, it was a bf of a family member who we thought was trying to do it professionally, so we let him film our wedding. He didnt charge us anything because it was his first wedding... well we've never seen ANY of the footage and never even heard from from him since.) Fast forward to today, I'm now in the filmmaking business. I'm relatively new to wedding films...heck I'm still relatively new to pro filmmaking. Ive only got a handful of weddings under my belt. Ive watch other wedding films and try to learn as much as I can from them. They all seem to follow a relatively similar pattern. Almost 100% showcasing cinematic shots, but only general typical wedding day story telling. I thought that was what all the pros were doing so I try to replicate that and try to blend a little more story telling. After watching this, it got me thinking: This is what I would've wanted at my own wedding. Like someone else commented, something we can show our kids or eventually grandkids one day and it would actually be a powerful watch. I only recently heard of you, but you have definitley inspired me to set a new standard for myself and my future clients. Thank you, and the awesome wedding couple for sharing!
Hey. First let me say I’m so sorry you never got footage. Sadly, that type of thing still readily happens today and it taints the industry :( I’m blessed to have been able to inspire you. I started out the same way as we all do because that’s all that’s being showcased, awarded, and taught within the industry. It was when I got tired of repeating things that I wanted to do things different. If you ever have any questions, dm me on instagram anytime. Happy new year to you!
Nice bro. Question, how do you get the music to end on a word like that? Like the music cuts but the vocal is still there for like a millisecond? Is that your reverb trick I've seen you explain? I'm about an hour away from SA I would love to work with you one day to learn more. Keep it up.
Hello, Justin Merry Christmas. Loved the film; I was wondering I know you mainly focus on weddings most of the time but do you also do films for like corporate companies, teach courses cause I would love to learn about your lighting?
the angle where the dad says "her mother and I", where did you setup the camera? behind the groom? I just can't visualize it where a camera isn't in the way, or distracting to the photographer or something ya know? thanks in advance!
I wish I could draw it out it would make more sense lol. I’ll try explaining but we stand behind the couple about 10-20 feet. We use a 70-200 to be close to the person speaking. Then for reactions we walk around the room getting as many faces as possible, b angles of who’s talking etc. hope that makes sense. Every photographer we’ve worked with has no issue with this. It helps them get great shots too.
@@JustinPorterMedia Wow, that's crazy! I guess it makes sense though because of how high quality the final product is and because you do so many weddings.
Dude! This is a cool video and as a fellow filmmaker I love your stuff, you capture amazing moments in a very unique way. What f stop do you shoot on? It looks like it's a f5.6-8 ish? I watch your gear videos on TT, I thought you'd be more of a shoot wide open kind of guy.
Mostly framing on the thirds help remove them quite a bit. I didn’t notice they didn’t use flash. Usually you do see that but maybe they didn’t use them this time.
Haha they definitely had one. Just get creative with framing haha. Most of what we get is usually not on the timeline so the photographer isn’t there or cares to get it lol
The editing is what makes it better. Awesome job.

Just curious, how long does it take you to edit a wedding film of this length? I assume it can be difficult since you do so many weddings every month.
Because of backlog we average about 7 or so months.
@@JustinPorterMedia Wow, that's crazy! I guess it makes sense though because of how high quality the final product is and because you do so many weddings.
love it!!
BRUH....LETS GOOOOO
Love The Videos as always. Im just curious isothere any reason why there's noise in the footage while the girls are talking outside in their pjs?
I don’t notice it a bunch. We do add film grain in the grade though but to my eyes it’s very subtle.
gotta have this for my wedding
We ready 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥

Yea we do haha. It’s always F2.8 and nds. We are super 35 so the compression isn’t as sweet as full frame.
bro! how many crew members would you need to pull this off?
How are you doing this without the photographer in the way or seeing the flash???
Mostly framing on the thirds help remove them quite a bit. I didn’t notice they didn’t use flash. Usually you do see that but maybe they didn’t use them this time.
10/10!
You are a monster. Where's the photographer?! They don't even hire them when they hire you lmao
Haha they definitely had one. Just get creative with framing haha. Most of what we get is usually not on the timeline so the photographer isn’t there or cares to get it lol
do you got a job opening I would love to learn from you!!!
I don’t at the moment. :(
I will have some workshops in 2024 though so be on the lookout for those 🙌🏾🥹
@@JustinPorterMedia heartbreaking 💔 just let me know I’m 1000% about this life
Is this with the komodo?
I wish. It'll be a bit before I get a RED wedding film out :(
Here first
Is that shot by Red or BM
It's BM still. RED coming soon haha
@@JustinPorterMedia are you gonna use af with Red or keep using manual ?
@@yusergin37 definitely manual. I’ll use auto maybe here and there but for the most part I’ll use manual
