    Exquisite. A plea for a kinder world. For me, slowing down the tempo, emphasizing words like 'people,' 'one,' and 'dreamer' added to the imagery. Don't change a thing.

    Absolutely stellar performance . The world became a sadder and worse place the day John Lennon was taken. What a wonderful tribute to him.
    Religion is nothing but a crutch people turn to as an excuse to have something to hide behind instead of facing the real world and this song is a true testament to that fact.

    I am very surprised and dissapointed by the choice of this song in the poor conditions. With an amateur pianist who
    has no level to accompanny EMMA.
    It's true that she has to experiment, but not with just anyone! I think it's a shame for EMMA.

      Totally agree. I used to sing the clubs around Manchester and had different backing and sound in each one. I used to make a note of what sort of backing they had and mark them points out of 1 to 10 for future references so I would know what to expect. I hated singing in clubs with bad backing but loved singing to good backing. I think if you asked Emma what she thought of this backing and was honest,she would definitely not have enjoyed performing at this venue.Nobody can hear or judge your real talent if you have bad backing. And just one more thing , I don't think she sang this song deliberately slow, I think it was the organist didn't have much experience, therefore Emma had to sing at the organist pace and not her own.

Chapeau.

Mijn naam is Fred! En laten we Emma laten zingen. Luister vooral naar haar stem en haar melody. Emma is grenzeloos puik!

    First off viola is my favorite song. As a christian I don't like this song. I can't imagine why anyone would not want to go to Heaven. Heaven is where God dwells and eternal seperation from God is Hell. Johny Cash with all of his fame said, " the loneliest place for a man on Earth is a man separated from God." Everyone has a God shaped whole in their heart and if they fill it with God they will find piece. I think that the love of God would truly bring peace to Emmas soul. And I pray that she will receive Christ into her heart and ask Christ if she could join the choirs in Heaven and worship Christ for eternity. I admonish her to listen to "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me. It's a Christian. Praise song. There is a lot of good contemperay Christian music. One last thing I hope that she doesn't compromise her morals and values.

      It's the lyrics. Imagine if there is no Heaven it's easy if you try. That is my point. What a depressing thought. I look forward to going to Heaven and living with God who I believe is Jesus Christ. The Lord, savior, and redeemer of mankind. He paid for makinds sins when he was crucified on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and gives everlasting life to those who repent and put there faith in him. I didn't say it was immoral. John Lennon wrote the song and it wasn't inspired by people of all religions. It was the way he felt, and I am truly sad for him in that he felt that way.

      If you live your life consistent with the sermon n the mount, you may not be able to relate. In this time "Christians" don't seem to accept ideas of loving and forgiving enemies. I don't think Lennon was inspired by religions but by the way religions produce wars. If you study religions, the essence of most is very similar. But religions create wars over the miner differences in their beliefs. Right now it's Muslims vs Israelis, But there are or have been wars between Catholics and Protestants. Current White Christion Nationalists sound like they want to create another civil war here. Didn't Jesus Christ say you should prey to Our Father who Art in Heaven?

    We have no way to know if Emma chose this song, or if she was asked to sing it, and given the long history of conflicts over centuries that can be directly attributed to religion, I'm not about to wonder about Emma's beliefs, or how she feels about the validity of a God, or even the God, depending on your view, and her own life experience will have influenced those feelings, very deeply, given the trials she has endured since birth.
    I have the utmost respect for her determination to make a mark on the world, and she most definitely is achieving that, and I wouldn't want to say if that's despite or because of a personal religious belief. Whichever it is, it won't change the huge respect I have for what she is doing, and my hope that she will continue to soar to new heights as the sublime and amazing performer she has become.
    That's happened in part as a direct result of a massive commitment to achieving the best she is capable of, and her personal religious views won't change how I view one of the best young performers I have heard in a very long time. As to her being an angel walking among us, or having a god given talent, that may be true, or it may just be a combination of her DNA and a lot of dedication to achieving her goal, I don't know which is the case, all I know is that her ability is rare, and puts her at a high point in a very small group of people who very much stand out from the crowd.
    If her life experience means she has a problem with a belief in any god, I dont have a problem with that, at 16 her views can change, and her experience is her experience, I haven't had to live her life, and in truth, I'm not sure if I could have coped with what we already know of her life, so I am not going to decide on the validity of whatever faith she may or may not have.
    I just hope that she continues to sing as wide a range of songs and genres as is possible, and if that means secular as well as religious, I'd like to hope that her doing so will only enhance her visibility and acceptance across all creeds, communities and countries.

    John Lennon's Imagine is a sneaky evil song, and I was hoping Emma (or her Parents) would read the lyrics first and then refuse it. The text is terrible and offers no hope for mankind, although at first glance it does. its lyrics could came out of a Communist handbook. Lennon lyrics are: "Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try"...and "Imagine there's no countries, It isn't hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion, too" (this is exactly what the satanist Globalist WEF wants with the world: they want to abolish Countries, forbit worship to God, erase Countries and peoples culture and History). Somehow Lennon thought that a one world Communist style ruled super state would bring about peace and prosperity on Earth. But we had that with Communism in Russia and still today in China. The total people murdered in Communist Soviet Union and China combined is over 120 million - more than Hitler and his Nazis murdered in World War 2.

    • @exeter1588
      @exeter1588 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Herka5420 The song is an ode to atheism and communism, both of which were embodied in and advocated for by the composer, an odious and deplorable man who spent his life in the pursuit of hedonism and vice. The fact that it was performed at a children's memorial event is inappropriate to say the very least.

    • @exeter1588
      @exeter1588 5 месяцев назад +2

      @RogerClutton The song is from 1971 and I remember it well. At 15 I was enthralled with the lyrics. It was from John Lennon, a Beatle, and like all of my friends, I loved it. It was a song of the times, which were intensely political. As for religion, the opening verse is quite explicit. Those were the days of my youthful indiscretions; my ignorance and immaturity. I have grown wiser over the years.
      With respect to Emma, you may be right. Perhaps it was not her choice to perform that song, and even if she did, I would not judge her at age 16. She has been through a lot, and I know that she has pondered serious questions about life far in advance of her age peers.
      Whether or not she is an atheist, I do not know. What I do know is that she has questioned the wisdom and the goodness of God. She posted some time ago a photograph of someone, perhaps herself (it was hard to tell), lying in a hospital bed with audio of a woman speaking about her disappointment with God, and going on to say that even if God himself explained to her the reason for her suffering, she would not accept it. Emma definitely harbors some bitterness, and I understand that....perfectly. I just hope that given time and the fuller understanding of life that comes with maturity, she is able to overcome that bitterness, and appreciate fully that even if God has hobbled her, he has also blessed her with incredible talent and ability, and guided her on a path to tremendous success and acclaim. He has given her the ability to reach the entirety of humanity and do great good in this world.

      Personally, I think that religion, no matter which one, is responsible for a lot of differences and hatred in the world. In that perspective, I don't think that the text "Imagine there's no heaven" was ment as a call to deny God, but as an idea that in the absence of religion or fanatics, there would be less disagreement between people.
