if you stumble upon a new 14 th gen intel processor by that i mean an unused one than you are good to go since the last microcode update fix has completely fixed the issue so no crazy degadration is happening any more and its safe to buy intel 14 th gen cpus the only problem i see now is that they are just not as efficient as amd cpus but are still very powerful cpus especially the i9 14900k and i7 14700k and can run very high DDR5 speeds which helps out alot in productivity compared to AMD 7000 series cpus.
14th gen are awesome cpus! I love my 14900k! It's a monster! I bought it brand new a year and half ago and I knew how to setup them up from the get go so it didn't overvolt it's performance cores. Been running flawless for over a year with my 4090. Everything is overclocked stable and runs Warzone at 1440p at 280 to 300fps depending on the random COD updates lol
Yea I bought a 14700k z790 motherboard and 32gb ram bundle for $550 USD. . updated bios and ran stress test, max temp around 62C with 240mm aio and voltage around 1.35 max under full load. I could probably undervolt but it seems like microcode updates helped a lot so far.
You got an insane deal and yup you’re probably fine with no UV. Personally I’d do it anyways since it takes 10min just to make sure, but there’s no need :)
@ yeah I read online that high voltage and high temps is very bad but if the voltage is a little high with lower temps it shouldn’t be too bad, but you’re probably right I can probably get away with a little undervolting and make it perform even better
I watched your undervolt guide for 14700k. The problem is that you used a non intel default profile which is a concern to can you made another video for msi board with intel default?
The settings are the same, whether you use the Intel default or not :) I talk about it in the "Intel fix" video which is also linked to this build video here from today :)
I bought a i5-14600k and really wana keep it but it keeps thermal throttling so I tried the under volt guide and the voltage offset would never get applied when I go from bios to windows has anyone else had this issue? My motherboard is a ASUS Tuf gaming b760 matx ddr4 and is on the latest bios, I also tried swapping the chips microcode to 0x104 and the offset never gets applied. Also tried Intels XTU but all the sliders are grayed out and can’t be moved even when turning off intels virtualization and core isolation. Any advise is appreciated
I have a 13700K and not currently on the newest BIOS setting. I recently tried playing Marvel Rivals where it hit 100’c instantly but I closed the game quickly. Would the BIOS update fix this? And if my cpu is already in the dying phase ( its one year old) I wonder if Intels warranty would replace even after the bios release.
I have 13700k, and it never has hit hit 100 C in gaming, but i have power limit and also i have an artic freezer 280 AIO max temp in games for me is 76 C in some that have kernel anticheats normally is un 70, without power limit it would get to over 80 though, what cooler you have? If your cpu was in the dying state you would get crashes in games. I have 200 w and 307 A power limits followed an anantech guide to decide my power limits.
Got a 14700kf+Msi z790 carbon for 600€. -0.95 UV + 5.7 ghz Oc, running great and now i just need to upgrade my current corsair vengence 6000 cl 30 to faster ram dont know if it is worth it ?
Nah, keep that tight & clean cl30 +/-6000 MT/s on your rig.. at least for the next 2 years. We dont know the side effects of using higher xmp&/ ram , ( based on 5600 mt/s spec from in-tailss)...
@ lol too late, i got some tforce 7200 cl34 for a discounted price.. it needed some voltage to be stable but it is working great. Got a boost in cpu intensive games 😬
bro its been 6months i still cant find a way to stop games from crashing on my 14900k pc.i have tried every bios settings and games still crashes I play valorant and EAFC, when game crashes i get ban and DCs I am so sad, its my first pc and i am starting to regret not building an amd pc
Make sure you’re running the latest BIOS update, set P-Core RATIO to ALL-CORE 54, save and exit :) Also double check you don’t have any RAM instabilities by turning off the XMP
Oh I definitely see your point and actually made a dedicated video explaining why buying a cheap one is a terrible idea! But this one from Sharkoon is pretty good, if one likes the aesthetic it’s definitely worth the buy :)

Exactly my thoughts!

Just bought the 14700k for cheap and used your guide to undervolt, ty sir for the info.
I'm the one thanking you for watching and I also think you made a very good choice buying wise, seeing how cheap they are :)
Absolutely love this build! Far better than any amd platform at the same money
Very nice video and build!
Thank you! :)

my i9 13900k still going strong had a few issues but still kickin
It's all about setting it right! Great to hear :)
I nearly had the the same idea (14600k, z690, good cooling, new bios and undervolting) . Greetings M.S.
You’ve got a great combo :)) Utilizing a Z690 to bring the price even lower is very smart!

Hi, the issue may be a software you have installed or a security option in Windows. If possible I'd advise trying it with a clean windows install!

You can also try the undervolt that Imwateringgpus recommend, my board is a B660 so is locked i cannot undervolt like that.

Very solid combo! 7200Mhz RAM properly tweaked would help, but honestly not by much unless you’re running a 4090. I wouldn’t do it :)
@ 4080 super ?

Thx a lot man ❤️@@ImWateringPSUs

@@ImWateringPSUs thanks, I’ll try turning off xmp cause that’s the only thing i never tried yet.
Overclockers have never had issues with Raptor Lake, because we don't use it at stock settings. It's the whole point of K Cpus.
Facts.
That psu needs to go in the bin
Naaaaah they’re pretty good nowadays! :)
I am not a fan of these fish-tank cases
