What is the translation of hell?
    Biblical terminology
Sheol is also translated as "the pit" three times. Modern Bible translations typically render Sheol as "the grave", "the pit", or "death". The Hebrew word abaddon, meaning "destruction", is sometimes interpreted as being a synonym for "Hell". So if people go to hell what is their condition eclesiates 9:5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.

If people exist forever in hell, then death and sin are not defeated and sin is still taking place forever. God is giving these people eternal life as well. Only the saved receive eternal life.

Sin and death are defeated only for those who place their faith in Christ. The wicked undergo the second death. They don’t get victory over it.
Also, Jesus says, “in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth,” which assumes the wicked will be sinning against God AFTER their final judgment. That’s not my idea. Jesus said that.
Lastly, the wicked are not given eternal life. That’s a fallacy and major misrepresentation of the ETC’s position. It’s okay to disagree but NO ONE on either side believes that the “wicked inherent eternal life.” Suffering torment for all eternity is not eternal life.

If the imagery symbolic, which I believe it is, how do you explain Revelation 20:14? According to Voddie, the Lake of Fire is symbolic for Hell. So how can Hell be thrown into Hell?

The most accurate translations (not the KJV in this case) use the word “Hades” not “hell” in Rev. 20:14. Which simple means “the place of the dead.” The in-between state is no longer needed/ necessary because the Final Judgment has come.
