Very good video. Both Back to the Egg and this final line-up of Wings have always been greatly underrated. I truly wish they'd been able to record at least one more studio album together, as there was so much potential left unrealized.
Great informative video, Andrew. I have always wondered why McCartney never included material from London Town and Back To the Egg in his later set lists. I would particularly have loved to hear him perform With a Little Luck, I've Had Enough, Getting Closer, Old Siam Sir and Arrow Through Me.
One of the all time best live concert performances by Paul McCartney during his post-Beatle years was Paul McCartney and Wings - Coming Up (Live in Kampuchea 1979) - it is posted on RUclips if you have not seen it -- Paul playing great bass and singing great and giving his all, he is really into the performance and the band sounds great!
14:59 - oh dear IS RIGHT! I knew he had pot in his baggage, but this was enough for a cartel. I had no idea it was that much. NO WONDER he was in the pokey for 10 days. How long a tour was it going to be that he needed that much?
Great take on the aborted tour Andrew & although I do have to say it was stupidity on both Paul & Linda's part to begin with I'm still sad he decided to split Wings up afterwards as for me they still had a lot to achieve going into the 1980s & it was a great line up of the band who sadly never got the chance to forfill their true potential....

Great topic!
Went to one of the London shows,Wembley Arena 1979 and was a great night. That Wings line up was great.
If I ever see a CD called "Wings Over The Orient", I'm asking questions🤣🤣🤣🤣
I do remember an official Atlantic double CD of “The Concert For Kampuchea” being released here in America in the late ‘80’s - early 90’s.
It must've been yanked out of print right away. Paul's a dick when it comes to that, buying up the rights and hoarding the content.
@@farrellmcnulty909 nope..the mpl logo was on there as well. It just didn’t sell.
I have it, US version on Atlantic, no MPL
Fascinating look into a curious period in Paul's life. The Lesson learned? Don't do drugs, kids -- at least, not in Japan.
To reinforce this, watch Midnight Express - it's horrifying.
@@farrellmcnulty909 oh yeah, I watched it once.
That was plenty!

If you go back to 15:35 you'll see Andrew saying that was just a photo he found on the net NOT Paul's stash.
Andy Weal
@@huey28 Oh, shit - I did go back, and you're right - thanks for pointing that out.
