The initial readings means the readings of the acid in the burette before you started titrating ✅ If the level of the acid in the burette was 5.10cm3 before I started titrating it means my initial will be 5.10cm3✅ But the reason while it was 0.00cm3 is because that was the level of the acid in the burette before I started titrating ✅ I Hope you get it now ?
Some of the acid will slightly be dropping into the burette from the funnel which may increase the acid in the burette while titrating. Hence , the funnel must be remove.
