One of the keys to sounding more natural in your spoken English is mastering the rhythm of the language. There are patterns for pronouncing certain types of words and phrases. Learning these can really help you in perfecting your fluency and flow. In this lesson, we'll practice speaking compound nouns and descriptive phrases- two very common combinations!

Should I announce the "k" or just hold it before releasing the "th" sound? And in the word "craftsmanship," I am not sure about the proper way to announce the 'f' and the "s"? Thank you.

I have couple of question about stressing words,It always make me confused. I will put the sentence down and you can tell me which word to stress.
1) she sell nine new cars. Here, which word to stress? as sell is a verb and she is a pronoun
2) she speaks with confidence. Do I have to stress on speaks and confidence both? Or only one word.
3) she saw five white board.

I said this because when you spoke the word COMPOUND NOUN, I couldn't understand what you said. Perhaps because I haven't heard it before.
Makes sense. When I use more technical/grammatical terms I try to explain them and really I try to avoid them if possible! I am not planning on adding subtitles due to listening practice but I am looking into full transcripts of the lessons!

Imitation is the very best way to learn. It's how we all develop language as children. It can help to know a bit about what you are hearing- schwa, blends, syllables, etc. Ultimately, you want to try and match the rhythm of what you are hearing. Sometimes certain sounds can be hard is they are unfamiliar to you, and focused practice with these targets really helps...

Hey Keenyn, just wanted to ask: is butterfly a compound noun? Why do we have so many compound nouns whose meaning have nothing to do with the nouns that they're made of in general? (eg: cobweb, strawberry, kidnap, honeymoon)
