Thank you for pointing that out! Will pin it so it's visible 🙏🏼 Going to post a new Painting Masters episode on Saturday - and this time I made sure 100% not to make a mistake 😬
Liron, that painting at 22:38 of an artist’s work area might also be David Chauvin’s work. I looked up RUclips videos to check out his work and saw that painting there. The video was posted by Alex Ivanov.
The shadow on the wall took me up the building to look at the Balcony into the corner, down to the dock and the boats and then into the water and back up!!! Just magnificent
I was very impressed with her husband’s work but had not seen her work. All I can say is...Wow! I love her style! I like her choice of topics and colors. So subtle but effective. Thx for introducing her, Liron!
Thank you for introducing another painter I hadn't heard of. Her control of the mid values is extraordinary. In the first painting, the turquoisy hue of the windows and elements of the left building seem to match the hue of the water and it ties the whole scene together. Love the lighting on the people and the varying edges of the boat.
So happy you enjoyed this one 😊🙏🏼 Her work is indeed very impressive in the attention to not only the major shapes and composition, but also the minor details and arrangement of secondary elements.
I've always been very fond of Jasmine's paintings, my personal favourite is the second last painting you discussed. I also follow Chien Chung Wei but didn't know they were a couple 😅
Thank you so much for introducing her to us. She is definitely my new favorite watercolorist. The granulation she achieves is incredible. I wonder if she uses granulation medium. I bought some from WN recently but haven't experimented with it. I also notice that a few of her pieces have a "spider web-like" look. There is a book by Frederick Wong called Oriental Watercolor Techniques (got it on Amazon). He talks about watercolor painting on masa paper (rice paper I think). The technique includes crumpling the paper and then straightening and the paint sits in the creases. Really cool, but won't work with regular watercolor paper. Thanks again...so great. And I LOVE your channel! Thank you for all the work.
Wow, that's fascinating, there's so much to learn from eastern painters 🤩 Some of the artists' techniques are so impressive there. I would love to know how she achieved that "spider web" look. Happy you enjoyed this one 😊🙏🏼
Stunning! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this skilled artist! The first painting (on the water) is my favorite, oh that balcony is calling me! The last painting is almost haunting, that stunning and wonderful glow can touch anyone stuck in a creative block. Many thanks!
Gorgeous depiction of (and control of) light in all of these paintings, Liron - as well as the expert merging of washes that you pointed out. My word, you do have a knack of finding such interesting artists that we might otherwise never have heard of. Really enjoyed this one ... ... except for the sad fact that it caused to me to throw my last 300 paintings in the trashcan (only joking!). I've also just finished watching the video where you painted your girlfriend and her friends studying in your apartment and I think I now have just one of your extended-length videos to catch up on. You've really spoiled us with with some truly excellent material recently. Many thanks and warmest wishes from Florida, Brian.
Gorgon works! I think some of those lights are lifted. I'd bet that she works on 300 lb hot pressed paper which gives you that incredible mix of wet on wet and the best lifting capability ❤️
Excellent job Liron! Thank you. I am really glad you covered Jasmine Huang. She deserves it . Her skills, technique and taste are mindblowing. Just one note...she paints mainly on Arches Hot pressed paper.
According to the edition of Splash her work appeared in she works on 640gsm Arches cold pressed - which makes more sense as is easier to get granulation on cold pressed than hot pressed
Shalom to you dear Liron! Toda Toda Rabbah to you, sir, for sharing this wonderful artist, Jasmine Huang, and her lovely and very skilled way of painting in watercolor! Your YT-Channel is amazing and always giving important facts and much much of inspiration and deeper insights in a friendly and nice way at the same time! Wishing you, dear Liron, all the very very Best always! Greeting from Sweden!
Thanks you for introducing this amazing artist. Do you know what paints, pigment or medium does she use? Her paintings are has this kind of special granulated effect texture.
Thank-you for sharing this, what mastery of light and color she has! (If you can call a lady a 'master', I don't know!) Your expert knowledge really makes us appreciate the work on a deeper level. I'm really looking forward to that 'connecting washes' tutorial. Thanks 🙂
Most tutorials i've watched say the highlights, lowlights and the contrast are what make a painting interesting. How do hers work so well with mostly middle values?
It’s not necessarily the amount of each of these components, but more about their (relative) accuracy to the scene 😊🙏🏼 You can play around with them to an extent
Thanks - I hadn’t her of Jasmine Huang - before and I love her work as much as Chien Chung Wei’s. Yes, please do a video on merging washes - this is my greatest struggl with watercolours. Theoretically, I get it and your tips about it BUT I have great difficult in executing my plan...
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 Yes, can be a bit of a challenge. But once you learn how to apply that to specific scenes it's easier. Once you can "see the path", so to speak, to the specific scene you are working on, it gets easier. Will talk about it in a future video.
Hey Liron - as always, brilliant job - I really enjoy the painting masters series. I would love to see you do one on Maxfield Parrish, an illustrator in the early 20th century. Though he worked in oils, he built up his paintings layer by layer with glazes, and his paintings are glowing! I am virtually certain that if you were to Google him, you would recognize some of his work. Thanks!
Hey Lyron! Her work is absolutely amazing. Can I suggest an artist for a review? I’d be very happy to see your comments on Dean Mitchell’s watercolors. Thank’s bro!
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 I believe you can get it on Stitcher & Google Play (: And the daily podcast (Liron's Daily Art Thought) should already be on Spotify. I promise to look into it!
Great series, I love discovering / learning about new artists :)! Some other favourites you might consider are Yuko Nagayama (@yuko_nagayama), Hazel Soan (@hazelsoan), Helen Ström (@helenstrom.art), Eugen Chisnicean (@eugen.chisnicean), Maja Wrońska (@majatakmaj).
I think the paining of the rusty buckets/pots (18:31) is by David Chauvin
Thank you for pointing that out! Will pin it so it's visible 🙏🏼

@@LironYan attribution is not always easy especially if no signature is visible. You're doing a great job! Thank you for that.

I enjoy your videos and the casual way that you speak. Your videos are very informative and relaxing at the same time.
She's extremely skilled. I'm impressed!
She is definitely something special 🤩🎨
Her work is just beautiful!
Yes, that pink floral has such a special look as well 🤩🎨
Very beautiful paintings! She does really well showing the light effects.
Yes, amazing skill 😁
Great video. Your comments showed me why I liked the paintings too. Thanks.
My pleasure 😇
Absolutely looking forward to you talking more about merging washes. 🤩👍
If I would see those paintings...maybe I wouldn't understand so much....as you were taking through....superb indepth explanation . Thanks again
Thank you my friend 😊🙏🏼
Amazing artist. Thank you for making this video of her work.
My pleasure 😊🙏🏼 Thank you
For me this was so much more interesting than just watching someone paint. You have marvelous insight and a very good eye. I simply loved this video.
Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼 Really happy to hear, and more to come!

Yes that seems to be the case! Hot press really can allow these lifting capabilities 😁

Wow, wow, wow! Never seen her work before--so enjoyed this introduction. Thank you 🙂
Wow magnificent artwork!
She is insanely skilled (:
Thank you for this instructive discovery.
The abstract looks like a ski lift, one carriage in the foreground, another in the middle, and mountains in the background.
Genius 😁😁 Now I can't unsee it 😂😂
I'm happy to see the Bargue plate practice behind you.
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 Did quite a few of these

Enjoyed 😀. There's no way that I could have deconstructed this by myself and wouldn't have been any fun. This much better lol. Thank you for sharing!
Haha it's such a challenging painting!
I tried having a go at it and it was really hard.

A great choice for something completely different would be to do an Alex Ross review. He works in comics, but the use of watercolor is great.
That's a great idea!
