Hi Martyn, Very surprised at how many people were not wearing masks on the train! It all looked so yummy! Alpacas are definitely adorable, their faces are so cute! I’m hoping I’ve got enough until it calms down, (1/4 tank - which is when I usually fill up) so fingers crossed 🤞 Thanks for taking us along, take care x

Thank you for taking us along. Although I’m in the states, I adore British yarn. Recently made purchases from Bee Croft and Black Isle Yarns who I believe were at Yarndale. The petrol situation is ridiculous. We had to fill up before we left Yorkshire as we had to get to Cornwall. We drove past 5 petrol stations on Sunday evening & then 2 or 3 on Monday before we drove home.
I was lucky I managed to fill up before we left for Leeds so for the return trip I had enough to get me around Birmingham, although it then took three services before I found one who had a supply! Total madness!

Martin, I am so jealous that you can get to these yarn festivals. I've been knitting super consistently since 2018, and haven't been to one yarn festival. Mainly because school is so busy. Hope after I graduate in the Spring that I can get to some yarn shows or festivals. What a great haul. I am also super excited for the WestKnits MKAL! What a trip! You've been really brave going in there, being in there so long and just buy "that bit" of wool. Seems not much for such a long trip altogether. Martyn -> 😇 Is it possible I spotted a bit of Westknits in there? 5:44 and 9:15 The latter of course should be a Honeycombs blanket and the first maybe a Painting Bricks Shawl? When folks are walking so fast for no obvious reason, we say "they must have stolen something" 😂 Oh yes, the "petrol crisis" already made it into our daily news. So weird. I propose a new format for you September round-up: a "Roundette" 😎 p.s.: As you're so famous now, I should think about going to Hamburg to meet you two haha but it's long hours by train and I'm not sure about restrictions/covid-things by then.. you never know
There were loads of West Knits on show and also loads of Love Notes (I still have the wool in stash to make one for my Mum!). Glad the petrol crisis has reached Europe, what must you think of us fighting over petrol haha. I’ll be keeping you updated on my Hamburg trip if you ever did fancy a coffee and knit :)

I bet that felt really strange being spotted and if I had been there I would have spotted you as well , lovely to know that your podcast is growing , I think your amazing and enjoy every one so thanks for being here stay safe xxxx
Thanks Georgina you’re very kind! Hope you’re keeping well :)
I'm waiting oh so impatiently for my yarn to come.
Mine arrived yesterday and I’m also so excited too, I’m sure Stephen has something amazing in store for us! Hope you get to Rick some amazing yarn shows off your list next year!
Loved LOVED this vlog 😉 I’m from Swansea and I’ve never been to yarndale so it was a fab insight into the yarn show, also introduced me to a new dyer. Yay 😘😘
Ah so glad you enjoyed and hi to a fellow Welshie!
You forced me to google “a cup of squash” lol! I thought I would return the favor: I’m knitting a toque while watching your video.
Oooo a good project!
Oooo a good project!
I wish I had your willpower when it comes to purchasing at festivals! Just recently found your podcast and binged through the episodes. Thanks for taking your time to share with us. Where did you get the mustard backpack from?
Haha I had to exert some willpower I’d ordered 28 balls of wool two days before we went for the baby blankets AND I haven’t actually cast on anything I bright at Unravel earlier in the year ;)
Also, the bag is by a Swedish company called Plystre, I ordered it as a gift last Christmas!
@@knit365blog thanks I did a bit of research this morning and found Ollie and Eve? They have something similar which is closer to home. I like to support local or at the very least UK. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Enjoy what is left of the weekend.
Does Mark knit/crochet or do any other craft ? Jus curious-- cus u said u would make him socks
Mark is a baker so he makes yummy cakes and bread, and I do the knitting!
Martin, this was almost as good as being there! I haven’t been to a yarn show since March 2020😔
Ah thanks Carol, glad you enjoyed! Let’s hope 2022 sees the return of events more normally!
What a trip! You've been really brave going in there, being in there so long and just buy "that bit" of wool. Seems not much for such a long trip altogether.
Martyn -> 😇
Is it possible I spotted a bit of Westknits in there? 5:44 and 9:15
The latter of course should be a Honeycombs blanket and the first maybe a Painting Bricks Shawl?
When folks are walking so fast for no obvious reason, we say "they must have stolen something" 😂
Oh yes, the "petrol crisis" already made it into our daily news. So weird.
I propose a new format for you September round-up: a "Roundette" 😎
p.s.: As you're so famous now, I should think about going to Hamburg to meet you two haha
but it's long hours by train and I'm not sure about restrictions/covid-things by then.. you never know
There were loads of West Knits on show and also loads of Love Notes (I still have the wool in stash to make one for my Mum!). Glad the petrol crisis has reached Europe, what must you think of us fighting over petrol haha. I’ll be keeping you updated on my Hamburg trip if you ever did fancy a coffee and knit :)
And I’m also stealing “Roundette!” Love it!
Hi. Thank you for taking us to yarndale. It looked fab. I can’t believe you did it all in 2.5 hours. That was good going! As much as i like shows ( not been to a yarn one yet) i do get fed up if it goes on too long. I’m the same with shopping. I enjoy one or two shops then i’ve had enough lol. 🙈 xx
Yeah we’re definitely in, browse then buy! Not keen on spending hours looking around haha
Sayyy hiii 😃 Hiii 😆 👋 Hi Martin I’m new 🥰😘😘
