The man who walks up 6th in line just lost his life in a crash while practicing in Tennessee. Rip Blue Angels. Best pilots in the world.
AND SOME SAY THAT CAPT JEFF KUSS (BLUE ANGEL 6) LOOKS DOWN ON TO THIS VERY DAY
ohh yup
rest in peace
Number six jet6🙏🙏😢
That is sad.
RIP Capt. Kuss 🙏. Thank you for your military service, sir.
Sad
So very sad indeed...really weird to see him alive in this video and smile, not knowing he's gonna crash in 3 months...:-( Really horrible! R.I.P. Sir and Great Respect for your life and service!
From a very old EX Navy Enlisted AF3. I watched the Blues in 1954 at Moffett Field flying F9F2-Panthers just before they switched to the F9F-8 Cougars. I was released to inactive duty a month later. Go to Pensacola as often as possible, to the Naval Aviation Museum, it changes just about every year! Try to keep abreast of all the Navy aircraft. Just an old Airedale at heart! Will turn 83 shortly
Thanks for sharing this! I never get tired of watching the Blue Angels, and this is some fantastic footage!
Rest in Peace Capt. Jeff Kuss
Great video! So sad to see Capt. Kuss!!!
R.I.P Capt Jeff Kuss
# 6 pilot

Rest In Peace Jeff Kuss. Blue Angel #6
Rest easy Captain Kuss. Semper Fidelis
RIP Capt. Kuss. 😞
Very sad.
Yeah, cool and sad to see him in this video... RIP
He died in Tennessee
Crashed
RIP Jeff Kuss 2:05 A true American hero.
Yes. A hero who somehow managed to forget to turn off his afterburners in a low-level nose dive according to the Navy's findings.
+PchanStitch Really?! Shit...that's sad...no technical problem? That the afterburner couldn't be turned off?
Yep, that's the Navy's finding. Kuss was mentally out of it. Forgot to sign for the jet, forgot to turn on his transponder, and though he called 'burner off', he forgot to take it out of burner. The jet was just fine.
+Nicholas Morris Woww...unbelievable...they are so strict and disciplined. I just don't understand...sad...very sad...

The Navy's blamed fatigue primarily and is now instructing the team to adjust their schedule for more rest time. That's why they've dropped the Pax River show this year.
The meet and greet is just too cool! Thanks for this awesome video :)
Spencer is the absolute best video producer of aerial teams ever! P.S. I love the USN Blue Angels.
He really is one of tha best ;-) Hope to be as good as him in the near future ;-) But he has better equipment too. And many people around the world want to see the American Airshows. And he is doing it for quite some years now. But I really enjoy his videos! Respect!
they are awosome the way they are.i see them every year and everytime and they are always impressive and ill always be there admiring their skills
i absolutely love your channel. Thank you so much for your effort !!
Thank you Capt. Jeff Kuss for all you did for us and this Nation. We live in a different world now in 2020. We are so divided and it seems everyone is angry at each other. This Nation needs Heroes like you to show all of us character. Your selfless act and courage, well, all of this Nation needs to follow your lead. Thank you again Sir, Rest in Peace and know you will always be in our hearts.
R.I.P Jeff Kuss
They don't need to change a thing, I would watch them forever doing the same thing over and over.
It's soo sad to see Capt. Jeff Kuss in this video. May you R.I.P. 😩
I teared up at 2:08
Loved the maneuver that LT. Ryan pulled off when doing the opposing vertical pitch, before crossing at center point he invented the plane then roll at center point stopping invented again and then roll to exit the flight line 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👍🏾 !!! Great job loved it
Thanks for another outstanding video. Your video and audio skills are second to none; keep churning 'em out.
Fantastic video!
RIP Blue Angel #6 Opposing Solo - USMC Capt Jeff Kuss

Rest in peace, Captain Jeff Kuss😔
Oh Jeff :( :( . You had so much more to do in this life. Rest easy friend.
Awesome!

Rest In Peace Jeff Kuss. Blue Angel #6 Thank you so much for your service Sir; SSgt Chris Minor (Retired AF). Mr Spencer may I ask what type of camera gear you use? I've been a die hard DSLR user but am thinking about moving to Video. Thanks
RIP Captian Jeff Kuss, you will be missed deeply :(
You have no idea how precision driven they are until actually see them live. Makes me proud to be called AMERICAN.
Na wie Cooooool ist das denn!! das ist doch eine nette Gäste!!!!
Half the fun of a Blue Angels show is trying to figure out where they are coming from before they get there.
Wow about a month before Capt Jeff Kuss lost his life on that number 6 Hornet! RIP!
It's got to be tough to give this up after only a year or two.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Blue Angels but for as long as I've been going to airshows, (ever since I was born so technically 15 years), they have done the same routine year in and year out. I wonder why after so long they haven't switched it up or added something new, like I said I'm not bagging on the Blue Angels, because they are the best in the business, but I wish they did something new.
Agree
They did change at least one thing up this year, on the high Alpha pass, both solos go into the vertical now, instead of one going straight and the other going into the vertical.
+spencerhughes2255
That's good. They do need to change up more.
+Keenan Yannibelli Well and the Navy is working on getting them Super Hornets in the coming years. So hopefully with a new jet, we'll get a new show.
+Keenan Yannibelli My belief is that they don't change it due to the Navy and Marine non-changing tactics. The Blue Angels were made to demonstrate these current military flight tactics to the public. If there is no change in the military, then there is no change in the Blue Angels.
Nice video! What type of video camera are you using?
Blue sky's Capt Kuss

Blue angel polit the boss went to my high school he my best friend
Why do they turn their smoke off and on mid maneuver? Or sometimes 1 of the 4 the diamond will have smoke off. Thanks for any answer to that.
+Shane Thompson If one of the wingmen sees that he's not in the correct position relative to Boss, he'll turn his smoke off to show #4 (the safety/training pilot) and ground observers that he's out of position.
+William Carpenter thanks! Now I know.
they are going into afterburner so it becomes to hot for the smoke to work
So the blue angels are navy and the thunderbirds are Air Force?
Christina Nikol yes. The Blues are both Navy and Marines.
2:14 it makes me sad looking at him, he died in a crash practicing :(
Wheeled salmon Same here, his Aunt and Uncle are my neighbors.
All 7 should fly

no more Fat Albert JATO takeoffs?
Bob Rosso there hasn't been one since 2009. The Rockets are not manufactured anymore.
spencerhughes2255 the only ones left are being used by the ski birds, I think that's what they are called. They deliver cargo in c-130s to people at the North Pole.
spencerhughes2255 LC-130s I think they use
Good grief, what is with the team this year? I've been a fan for twenty years now and this is some of the worst formation flying I've ever seen out of the team this year. The line abreast loops are especially painful to watch, they're going everywhere on them. I could understand that early in winter training, but by the time show season has started? They usually have it down by now.
+PchanStitch Don't be critical, Just enjoy!
Well, maybe they should have minded some criticism considering the Navy's report more or less stated Kuss forgot to turn his afterburners off in a dive (among other things) and smashed into the ground.
I have been watching this video with great interest, BUT SADLY, I am so disappointed by the so called CLOSE CALL opposite direction clashes. They really are pathetic ! The aircraft may perhaps appear to be close when passing each other, to the ground viewers, although I think that even that is unlikely,
It is more than obvious from the video that these aircraft are almost 200 yards apart in horizontal separation on the so called "close passes".. These are less dangerous than parking a truck basically, the Blue Angels rely on the customer vision angles to make the appear dangerously close, but the truth is shown in the video, they are both both miles apart horizontally, so it is all just a play on optical recognition by the viewers that lets the Blue Angels claim they pass so close to each other that a cigarette paper doesn't divide them physically???.
It really is mostly Smoke and Mirrors unfortunately. The Blue Angels just do NOT FLY as accurately as they would like you (the US Tax payers) to think that they actually fly...
If you bother to watch any video (if available) of the RAF Red Arrows doing that same Opposite pass, you will quickly see that they are both within a very feet of each other both horizontally and vertically when the classic "contra pass" occurs, as it really should be.
damn you're demanding
Amazing video!
