Also I know that it depends on the tires and the weather condition, but Motor Trend which usually has slower times got 5.3 seconds to 60 in their 2013 Jaguar XJL awd 3.0. Which is faster than the 5.0, and gets better gas mileage, that 5.0 though is what I had and the sound is intoxicating
O.K. folks. Don't take Mr. Cooley's comments too personally. He gripes equally about all 1000 or so cars he has reviewed, from the Bugatti Veyron to the Chevrolet Spark. In his review of the Jaguar XJR, he said "I love these supercharged Jag V8s". He is a big fan of British motoring, heck, he's reviewed 5 Bentleys recently. They don't lend super high end luxury cars to just anyone. Btw, I think he pulls off a decent salary since he is a collector of vintage cars.
I've noticed that you have repeated the Cooley "I love these supercharged Jag V8s" quote not only on this video but also on the XJR review several times. Clearly he loves the drivetrain but I feel that's about it with this car as everything else annoys him - even the glovebox button! Don't get me wrong I love his critical reviews and that's why he's so great but here I feel he is reviewing it from his personal taste rather than from a broader perspective. And I think that's why people are annoyed in the comments.
Do you know there exists an option "Vault" on the screen that when enabled locks the audio, AC, trunk lever and the glove box to keep away valuable items when leaving you're car away at carwash/valet and public places that you're not comfortable to park at... little more research would help him for better reviewing :)
my family owns one. there is nothing wrong with the electronics. There is an ''animation' choice that you can turn off which makes the nab-screen much faster and smooth. And the car looks boss in some colors like white, red and black. We have the white one and my profile pic is my car.
Its quite interesting the way Colley's opinions differs from Jermy's. While coolie was busy with the satnav Jermy was talking about how it feels and didn't even mentioned anything about the satnav!
As an owner of a jaguar XJ, I find this video offensive and subjective. The drivability of this vehicle is un- comparable to anything I've ever driven before. Yes it has its quirks, but I love it!
This guy has no idea about luxury (probably because of the cheap, inferior car interior quality in American made vehicles). Jaguar is the pinnacle of quality, minus Rolls Royce. Cheap seat material? That leather is probably just as expensive as your monthly salary. edit : looking back on this comment I think I was a bit rude and I apologise for it :D
John Smith it's widely known jaguar and Land Rover are two of the most unreliable brands you can buy. Quality should mean you have something you don't have to get fixed before 200,000 miles
John Smith nah yo were right. I was shocked he disrespected that sexy peanut butter interior. That's my fav interior. And the blue contrast inside is amazing.
This guy is the most annoying reviewer and I love the interior, actually looking for one in that very color. I mean, who wants a black interior, esp. in a warm climate.
i cant belieeeeve it ... now i love cooley like never before ... me and. ooley should be pals, drinking beer and celebrating our birthdays together in a stripclub looooooooooooooooool
All of the videos that I have watched on the XJ have said it has more soul, has better feel and drives better than the German counter parts, thanks to rear Air Suspension and front adaptive struts. They all said due to the aluminium body which is incredibly stiff it has LESS roll than the competitors but feels more sporty? Maybe he should stick to reviewing Tech? On that note, ref the 'Tech' this car was designed long before the Android units were being put into vehicles, it'll be on the next one for sure or it's Major mid-life facelift as the new baby Jag the XE is getting a whole new system with head up display, apps etc, the works. Honestly, until the XF and this XJ, I was not a fan of Jaguar, my dad did though RIP and he never got to own one :( , I've owned recently BMWs, Audis, I also had a Peugeot 607 (which on the side profile shares a striking resemblance to the XJ) and I think I want one of these XJs now, can be had from £18k in the UK...would love to have one in the memory of Dad. I am British and for once there is something to be proud of with the Jaguar Land Rover Group. Might be money from abroad but lets face it, they gave the JLR Group funding (which Ford just couldn't do) and everything is done, in house here in the UK as it has been for many years, so I am mighty proud of that, plus secured jobs for thousands and thousands of people. I think this guy was a little harsh on the vehicle when you consider the tech that comes as standard compared to the 7 and A8 of the same era.
Jamie he just doesn't like the brand, he wants to slate it, he says it's not luxury, if this isn't luxury, then WTF is, I live near (ish) to the rolls factory so see quite a few new rolls around and think " what great cars we make here"
I agree that the XJ 2010-2013 -2014, were the top of all, but jaguar did not put any new model on market, while everyone from competition thit in this class, so a 2018 jaguar XJ is the least efficient car to buy with the money, but if you buy a 2010-2012 Jaguar XJ, is a good choice considering the price and that at that time, it was the best
As you know, the UX goes way beyond the interior displays. It is the driving experience, which cannot be done vicariously, that makes people fall in love with this brand despite the puzzlement of friends and family.
At first 15 second commercials were without the "skip ad" option. Now, this 30 second commercial is without the "skip ad." So eventually it will be forced 20 minute commercials like on TV and the real video will be less than the commercial footage time.
I'm not a native English speaker and I've never heard those words pronounced like that, even though I've heard them a lot. It was an honest question, there's no need to patronize me. Then again, this is the Internet.
Im still baffled at how a garmin gps that costs 150-200 can operate SO MUCH BETTER than a 1k+ navigation system in a 15k car, much less a luxury jaguar thats 80k. If i can ever get rid of my 98 grand cherokee, i will never buy a car with nav built in. My galaxy s4 will destroy anything a car manufacturer can put into their vehicles these days.
CNET is fairly reputable, since they've been reviewing cars for a decade or so. Mr. Cooley has reviewed Bugatti, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls-Royce etc., over 1000 or so cars, luxury or not, he gripes about them equally. Car manufacturers don't just lend their vehicles to just anyone.
Lets say that I see them drive by constantly. Exterior wise, they are not that impressive in real life compared to video footage. Their massive size will catch the eye, but once you gaze at it, you'll see only a huge straightforward - straight line - monstrosity. A lot of sculpture is missing. I also paid additional attention to the rear lights (especially for this comment), which are simply stunning on all videos, but in reality they are hardly noticeable, so that piece of art is nullified with this huge monster sadly enough. I know a lot of modern day Jag XJ fans exist out there, but it becomes different when you can compare it with the three big Germans everyday.
The XJ may not be pretty for everyone, but it is damn Elegant
Man I love that color leather. It's old school money. My W124 has a color pretty close to that.
I like it to
pick this one up anyday over a soulless beemer. this car quaint and classy
Yes it's a Land Rover, it's made in the same factory and owned by the same company
I LOVE the LCD panel for gauges. I hope all cars come with them standard by the next few years.
well here we are and they are
I like how he talks about the flaws of the car and not just the good..great review
This has got to be the most honest review of the XJ on the net. Great job
825 watts and 20 speakers? My god, I'd love to hear that sound system!
Jag = the most respected car on the street
O.K. folks. Don't take Mr. Cooley's comments too personally. He gripes equally about all 1000 or so cars he has reviewed, from the Bugatti Veyron to the Chevrolet Spark. I like that interior very nice looking
I actually like the interior color... One of my favor...
my family owns one. there is nothing wrong with the electronics. There is an ''animation' choice that you can turn off which makes the nab-screen much faster and smooth. And the car looks boss in some colors like white, red and black. We have the white one and my profile pic is my car.
still haven't gotten over your G-class review...its gona take some time
the best car tech show out there! Thanks!
Love the interior. Cooley is wrong on that one
Now, when you change from analog to digital type gauges in racing games, it really is how you drive your car.
CNET reviews: "Yeah this jaguar has some really nice tech inside....but it couldn't travel through time or fly so I don't like it."
Its quite interesting the way Colley's opinions differs from Jermy's. While coolie was busy with the satnav Jermy was talking about how it feels and didn't even mentioned anything about the satnav!
I'm a bit disappointed that such a gorgeous car is let down by its tech. Not that I can afford even one of its options....
Always love your reviews but that color leather is classic, much better than your Basic Black even though the XJ has nice white piping.
As an owner of a jaguar XJ, I find this video offensive and subjective. The drivability of this vehicle is un- comparable to anything I've ever driven before. Yes it has its quirks, but I love it!

He never said the seat material was cheap. He said it looks like synthetic baseball Mitt material.
Your probably British, that’s why you got so offended
FINALLY NEW VIDS MISSED YA BRO
This guy is the most annoying reviewer and I love the interior, actually looking for one in that very color. I mean, who wants a black interior, esp. in a warm climate.
i cant belieeeeve it ... now i love cooley like never before ... me and. ooley should be pals, drinking beer and celebrating our birthdays together in a stripclub looooooooooooooooool
Man they are 2 generations behind, just need to give up on their touch glovebox cars
The stacker at 4:28 is for your XJ Key.
I agree, don't get that, but, Renault got some good processors in they touch screen interfaces
I'd take it over a BMW anyday
All of the videos that I have watched on the XJ have said it has more soul, has better feel and drives better than the German counter parts, thanks to rear Air Suspension and front adaptive struts. Problem wirh XJ it is that the model 2010-2015 has some cheap computing processes in his navigation
Cooley went in on this car, damn!
Was the car activated in dynamic mode???
Awesome review Brian! As soon as u can, F type por favor!!!!
I love this car😍😍😍😍😍😍
I can look at likes vs. dislikes to know whether or not Cooley is doing the review
I don't usually watch these videos if it doesn't have Cooley. I can usually tell by the amount of likes vs. dislikes haha.
Land Rover and jag love the rottory gear shifter
I got to ride in the back of the car in Paris and found the suspensions to be hard compared to the new 7-series.
$80,000 car, shitty UX. Prolly now gunna buy this one lol! Thank Brian you rock!
As you know, the UX goes way beyond the interior displays. It is the driving experience, which cannot be done vicariously, that makes people fall in love with this brand despite the puzzlement of friends and family.
Nice, your birthday is 2 days before Cooley's. His is on the 20th of July. :)
good day,
Wich is the camcorder used to shoot this film??
At first 15 second commercials were without the "skip ad" option. Now, this 30 second commercial is without the "skip ad." So eventually it will be forced 20 minute commercials like on TV and the real video will be less than the commercial footage time.
Haaa!! "Let's price this big black beast"..... I'm still having those moments
good one bro
Ls 460 2013 best car out there for the money
I like that leather color...
"Big black beast" Thats what she said!
all in all do you think its worth 80,000 plus dollars
Yes.
Somebody please get this dude an I phone
I watch many companies attempt to perform car reviews, and I believe CNET has the best.
Do the F-type next!
Such a sexy looking machine, very nice from Jaq. I actually dont like the looks of the sport XK but this is just wow
the taillights are just like Cadillac
Might not start tomorrow lol
That comment is also true for Benz and BMW
I'm not the idiot here. This is a Jaguar, it's supposed to be fancy, not everything is there for use.
Every time I watch his reviews I always predict what he's most likely going to say...
Today: "Well let price this baby C-Net style"...
I love cnet. such honest reviews. wonderful car
4:59 not true at all. maybe you have the longest fingers in the world but i never had a problem avoiding the heated steering wheel button!
Black and tan are classic, you obviously are not.
on 4:31, that's actually an ashtray
Padded ashtray? Really? Well good luck cleaning that thing up if you think so...
if you go on the jaguar website and design your own jag, on options, it shows the ashtray
I can't find that "option" btw Saabkyle04 in his vid. said, "litlle bit of storage"
It’s very handy to put the key fob
why does he pronounce dial as "deal" and snout as "snoot"? i don't get it... is it an american thing?
It all depends on where you were raised.
its called an accent
I'm not a native English speaker and I've never heard those words pronounced like that, even though I've heard them a lot. It was an honest question, there's no need to patronize me. Then again, this is the Internet.
and they are both called Brian
Yeah I did mate.
His one is probably covering bigger market than yours is so he needs faster and bigger car :D
2014 s class... has more tec and more class. the jag is ok but is behind
looks like a big Optima with a MKS rear.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!
real men drive Jaguar.
0:56-1:05
What's the punchline?
Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice
I'd rather have a TTC. Lincoln MKS.
No wonder why CNET is not famous for their car reviews. With reviewer like him, I fear CNET with loose its electronics review reliability as well.
Yeah for real. He was ripping that car.
***** The reviewer looks like an annoying third grade math teacher
Exactly. Good one haha.
I like BMW way more then Jaguar, but Jaguar has earned its id as "luxury".
0:00-0:10
tata itself looks small, good and inexpensive i would buy it.
Love this guy
In the first 5 seconds it's not an XJ car but an MK.
jaguar might be luxury but it has a ways to go to beat some other luxury car makers who by comparison are flawless.
+jump oricakle Like who?
You have to have an Indian accent for the voice commands to work...cos jag is owned by Indians now XD
this review looks more negative then positive not good. but whats scary is that i hear the XJ is the best vehicle jaguar has referring to headaches.
I don't see the point of having a 4wd Jag when you can get its sister vehicle the Range Rover.
Lets say that I see them drive by constantly. Exterior wise, they are not that impressive in real life compared to video footage. Their massive size will catch the eye, but once you gaze at it, you'll see only a huge straightforward - straight line - monstrosity. A lot of sculpture is missing. I know a lot of modern day Jag XJ fans exist out there, but it becomes different when you can compare it with the three big Germans everyday.
Those german cars are really as common as a ford focus nowadays.
Frank Assnot True, but the XJL exterior remains a disappointment in real life.
+A Freethinker I really like the new ones with the J lights and they have to have the lip spoiler, improves the back end a lot.
I love everything that this boomer is whining about. Also, I own an XJ myself. As far as his whining goes, “there’s no accounting for taste”.
You forgot dong ngo
digital streamed radio, not analog
Multiple times. I said that because they're manufactured by the same company.
"cheap synthetic baseball mitt" ...ROTFL!!
I feel GM like interface in this car . Hmmm
Gotta get a cedes benzema.
Audi FTW
0:00 that's a 420 not a XJ..
I bet this guy's wife has as many complaints in the bedroom as he has about this car.
I prefer Molly
both brains no wonder
CNET auto reviews are such a waste of time... so so so pessimistic... I feel only negative energy
