- Prayer is a conversation with God that He desires to have with us. He is never too busy for us, never bothered by our requests or prayers, and certainly is not bored when we talk to Him. When we pray, God is always there, always listening, and always receiving.
Prayer is a place where all 3 persons of The Trinity are at work. When we pray, we are talking to the Father, through Jesus (because of the connection He made possible for us), and the Holy Spirit is empowering us in and through prayer.
Two common questions people ask when it comes to prayer are:
How do I pray?
Why do I need to pray to God when He knows everything?

Who is the one who conquers the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

I personally usually address Jesus when I pray. 1John 2:1 states that he is our advocate. He is our intercessor. So I have always felt that praying through Jesus is what I should do. Having said all that, I have to say that at times I do call out to God the Father. Love this podcast. 🎉❤
Don't waste your time praying. First hear the WORD/ TORAH [Elohim the FATHER ] : Pro 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law [TORAH], even his prayer shall be abomination. And then hear his Son the WORD/ TORAH made flesh (ie lived out and preached but not Elohim himself). Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law [TORAH] or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Mat 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until shamayim (pw heaven) and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law [TORAH]until all is accomplished. Mat 5:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of shamayim (pw heaven), but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of shamayim. Mat 5:20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of shamayim (pw heaven).
How in the world do people go through one day without praying and praising our God? I couldn't.

I can definitely relate to the difficulty of listening to God. My inner voice just rambles on, always in the mode of trying to figure out a current situation. I appreciate the tip of writing those thoughts down or praying those thoughts. Sometimes while talking to God about it, the solution suddenly presents itself, and that's God talking. So I have always just prayed to Jesus. Most of my prayers start “Thank You Jesus for ___”, but I will say, I heard Beth Moore say once to every single day ask God (the Father) to give me a supernatural love for His Son and a supernatural love for His Word, so that’s a daily prayer I ask directly to God the Father!

I couldn’t tell you how many times I have read through the Bible…I did it mostly because I believed I was supposed to. I have been through it three times with Bible Recap and TARA LEIGH and I gain new insights daily. Thanks again for reaching out. Loosing my wife was the hardest thing I have ever been through. Yet, the peace that Jesus brought to me was like nothing I have ever experienced before or after. We serve an awesome God!

I stumbled on your podcast. I am so glad I did. Candace you podcast is so refreshing. Its not pushing anything down your throat. just regularly talk...I was brought up in a christian home. Now I am a grandma of 3 and 2 on the way. I have 9 children. So regardless of what age you are I still need to hear how to pray.. Sometime we forget that we are just putting are needs first. So thankyou for reminding me.. much love....

Perhaps another tip to keep your focus while praying is to imagine yourself as if you are speaking to the king/president of your country. If I were to receive an invitation from the King of Belgium, I would leave nothing to chance. I would only focus on this meeting. I would get rid of anything that would distract me and I would abide by all the protocol of the court. How much more should we do this for the 'real' king. When I start praying I imagine it and out of respect try not to let anything distract me. I have to learn this every day, because we are so easily distracted. Fortunately, we have a loving, patient God 🙏Love from Belgium🇧🇪
Amen @ around 23:35! By God's grace I have my prayer warriors. And when I ask them to pray they don't respond with a prayer emoji via text. Or If they do I know it's just to let me know they are on it.
I never want to be a prayer emoji warrior I want to add your specific prayer including by name, not only to my personal daily prayer list, add them to my Church's prayer list, if it's a surgery remind Alexa to tell me to pray at that time and engage our Episcopal prayer warriors the DOK as needed. To pray for others is such a gift. I can't imagine experiencing life without others asking for and me asking others to pray. Pray always. Alleluia!

I admire your faith Mrs bure, You once said the cancel culture was very real and very bad I respectfully agree and too many people have suffered as a result. Because we live in a society now where 2nd chances aren't even a thing anymore unless you think a certain way. What are your thoughts on trying to combat it?
Very exceptional realistic talk today. I knew everything that you covered, but it was so enlightening to reinforce the
way you guys put things. It helped me with realizing (yet again)... that I should never feel silly to say any prayer at
any time..... and this includes 30 second prayers throughout the day. We are not all poets and as you said, God wants
to hear from YOU... (not Robert Frost or Emily Dickinson. After all... Bob & Emma's words obviously don't come close to God's language.

I wonder how the prayers of non-believers work as far as does Jesus not act as a mediator for those prayers? I ask because I was not always a true, born again believer who still prayed and said, " in Jesus' name, amen." I can't imagine God not hearing or considering those prayers.
Hi Paula. This is a great question...I wonder as well. I also wonder when people who aren't believers yet sometimes say they pray who are they praying to...I hope someone can clear this all up for us.
Jesus does not do anything. He is a brown man who died thousands of years ago. Hope this clears things up for you.

People always use John 9:31 as proof that God doesn't hear a sinner's prayer, except for the prayer of salvation (all my life, I heard that), but people need to realize that GOD didn't say that, a human being did. I think that that if a non Christian says a genuine prayer to God, there's a good chance He'll answer it.

I have someone in my life who asks me why Jesus would pray to God the father if he was God? I don’t know how to answer this question as I am new to my faith.
I think Jesus was setting an example for Christians to follow I think He also came as a physical human to show us how to live out life.
