The lore is back!
The fact that the Sun King Jeron killed his firstborn for speaking out is a big reason I believe the Shadow Carja's denouncement of Avad for Patricide just falls flat. Jeron crossed that line first and it was a public showing of that too.
For the sun priests and kestrals, they obviously just wanted to keep their power. I think everyone else in the Shadow Carja is either forced by circumstances or plain stupid.
It the son wasn’t a sun king. So to them it wouldn’t matter as their “sun” demanded his death. It’s not an issue if the current sun king commits patricide because he is divine. The heir hasn’t ascended so he is not beyond mortal laws

He probably would’ve sent Helis after the Hunter’s lodge and then turned on Helis, then the Sun Priests advising him to spill more blood, then Avad
We got so much new info about the Red Raids from HFW it was so fun to speak to every npc. Especially Zo and her involvement. Good to have you back!
I really enjoyed the idea of the Order of Twilight, and if they were to survive their hardship perhaps they could reform into a sort of theological analogue to Plain Christians, or perhaps Mormonism, in regards to the Sun Faith. A new sect and denomination of the Sun Faith entirely separate from the faith of Meridian, followers of the prophet Savohar.

You summed what I scraped together so well!! Avad raised his lance to stab his father literally in the back, but his father turned around just at the right moment with a cynical look on his face & “Avad hesitated”. You can find bits in scrolls about how he’s far too kind, almost that he’s too soft, but his older got killed by the orders of his own dad. For him to escape & lead a revolution & take a throne he never wanted, it’s very brave & he’s severely underrated.
Ersa wouldn’t have fallen for him if he didn’t have such courage. The fact that the Sun King & the Sundom guards the Spire, which we know is Minerva, explains why the Sundom got so rich & powerful. They pretty much protected Minerva without knowing it, before Nemesis sent the signal. With the Red Raids running deep in the memories of the tribes and the land, Avad made prudent alliances. He could never marry Ersa, but appointing her as Head of the Vanguard got more Oseram support. Then he appointed the rising machine huntress as his advisor for the Battle of Meridian, then he made her Savior of Meridian when she shut down the machines. I don’t think Meridian is safe just yet
Man, I don't know why you're channel is still underrated. You've been making great horizon lore videos ever since the first game came out. Hope your channel would gain more traction.

The most interesting thing to me is how the savage East and West were the only ones that weren't massively scared and beaten by the carja. The Nora may have been pushed back but I think that can be forgiven considering they were suddenly thrust into a war with a tribe more technologically advanced while dealing with sudden machine aggression. Then the tenakth immediately going on the war path that probably would have won them the war. A lot of death to get there but I have no doubt they'd make it to meridian
I just took a look at your videos and realized you didn't make any devoted videos to the other lore side quests in Forbidden West. The Holiday Projectors, the Miriam Vistas, or the Black Boxes. I know they aren't as complete as the Burning Shores Aerial Captures but they each give a good view of what the old world was like before everything ended. The projectors were pretty funny and the Tenakth commitment to preserving and sharing the last words from the flight recorders was a heartening conclusion.
Excellent Video as ALWAYS!! Love ya RSQ. The last data point in Burning Shores "Dagger in my boot" Walter names Metallurgic, RECorp, CertainT, and Gideon as Companies that may have something to defeat Nemesis. My question is have you found any of these companies mentioned in other data points? Also with the very little description we have of them, which company is most likely to have a prototype weapon to defeat Nemesis? My guess is "Gideon" since I believe they're referencing Gideon the Prophet from the Hebrew Bible.
We definitely know about Metallurgic, which was a mining company among other things, but REcorp seems familiar from somewhere else as well.
@@swagstev3 I believe it's a strong possibility 1 of these companies has to have an A.I that can help us defeat Nemesis. It's possible one of these companies built Vast Silver, but I think Vast Silver will be a "Red herring/Troll Job" by the game Dev's. Especially since the datapoint "Past Silver" someone refers to VS as "The Singularity" which is the name of the last mission (seems done on purpose to troll us fans). My guess is another "CYAN" type A.I which one of these companies made. Which would be awesome because I think The Frozen Wilds (imo) has the best Story, characters, setting/area and I hope the next game is like a longer that. However since they Blurred out founder of Far Zenith Peter Tshivhumbe's face, I gotta feeling were not done with the Zenith 21 century people still being alive. Sorry for the long post any thoughts?
@@glenncarter2494 I mean I guess Vast Silver might be a troll, but I have a feeling it will appear in the next game, either in a main or side quest. Surely they can't just not do anything with it. I loved CYAN as AI but somehow I feel like the weapon that they find won't be another AI. I have a theory that the people in Elysium are still alive but I don't think the blurring of Tshivhumbe's face meant anything aside from respect about his death.
@@swagstev3 Very interesting. I also had a theory about Elysium like they were in cryo, but Gaia tells Aloy the facility went offline way before it was supposed to. So I'm very curious to see what happened (maybe they know what Ted did to the Alpha's and took action to protect themselves). Introducing another A.I in Horizon 3 could be redundant. However we STILL don't know what caused the Faro Plague, and since it seems impossible for a Human to do so it had to be either an A.i, Faro Competitor, Faro insider sabotage, or just a dumb coincidence because Ted's a butt!!
I think we both agree VS would make the most sense but they've only mentioned it in datapoints never any cutscenes. I hope I'm wrong but it feels like the writers are making fun of modern day conspiracy theories (which is why I said trolling). Would Love to hear your Elysium theory but I understand if you want to post it to reddit or make a vid.
@@glenncarter2494 Well actually my Elysium theory was the exact same as yours 🤣That they purposely made it look like the facility went offline in order to protect themselves while they were in cryo-storage. Maybe you're right about the VS trolling thing and current conspiracy theories but a part of me hopes that VS was the real cause of the glitch. I feel like Elisabet in HZD saying "Or don't sign - and I will make sure they and everyone else on this planet knows the REAL cause of the glitch" can't mean NOTHING right like surely they're suggesting something with that.
It’s interesting how most of the supplementary content in Horzin (mainly the comics) focus on the present era with little to no interference from the old world. Present day tribal culture stories can only go so far to be interesting but in a universe where old world and present era regularly interact, stories that focus on the present day tend to go stale quickly.

This is what Zelda does not have; two games with so much lore that 30+ years of headcannon that Nintendo drip feeds isn't enough to compare. With titles like BOTW/TOTK, it actually split the factions between what classic Zelda games and the modern entries are. This is why we need solid titles like what Guerrilla Games has provided in the HZD series.
You have a studio that has not done RPG's in the past. Now they have a detailed timeline describing the downfall and beginnings of humanity never seen before in gaming. And I don't use this lightly.
HZD is one of the first games that made me put down my controller and think for a long time. This is what reading about what happened during the Faro plague that got to me. After that I consider HZD/HFW some of the greatest games ever made.

@@RandomSideQuest I'm a great fan of your work since the beginning, I really enjoy this games and as an history teacher, I really enjoy the coherence of the universe and I think your cultural point of wiew is great. We could do a lot of tinking ( and so a lot of video for you)about the relations between races (this word means nothing in France...), sexes, jobs, religions etc... in this world. Far from any woke thinking, there is a logical and scientific reason for all in the world of Horizon, I think.

It's such a shame that there aren't more stories from Horizon between the games (and only two comics). The potential is so great! The best example is Cyberpunk 2077, which delivers great stories outside of the game in the form of comics, the anime and also the book. I would love to see this for Horizon and would give RSQ even more content to report on. I can listen to his analysis for hours. 🤗

@@RandomSideQuest Rust story would be great! With the liberation of Meridian, they've already managed to tell us more about the background. The story about Talanah was even woven into the game and I was hoping for a sequel as a comic. A real shame. They could also tell us more about the time before or during the Faro Plague. About the lives of the people, not just the soldiers. They could tell the story of the individual tribes. More about the red raids or traditions. It's certainly not easy to keep all the history in the canon, but as I said, Cyberpunk does it too, and does it brilliantly! 😢

Where was poseidon before vegas? If it only went there while the delving crew were there then it cant have been there long but where was it the rest of tge time
It was already there, poseidon only flooded vegas when he detected the delving crew nearby.
