This is a heads-up for anyone applying in 2025: UOW is no longer using a portfolio, and GAMSAT is now a hurdle, like GPA. Interview ranking is calculated using an algorithm of 50% Casper score and 50% UOW MD Admissions bonuses (including rurality adjustment for Rural Entry Pathway applicants). Side note- Jesse, your content is amazing and has pulled me through the last 4 months studying for GAMSAT. Thank you thank you!
Just another correction, GEMSAS states the following "University of Wollongong will include Graduate Diploma and Masters by Coursework results in the 3-year GPA calculation if the degree is completed or due to be completed by 31 December in the year of application."
Hello, I’m seeking clarification regarding whether my GPA will be assessed solely based on my three-year undergraduate degree or if my GPA from my two-year postgraduate degree will also be considered. Thank you
Cost of living isn't too bad. There is a free bus that goes all over the city and to campus, so that saves money on transport. Cost of food is a bit more expensive but that's cuz I'm used to US prices. The only issue we had was finding accommodations. Housing market has been rough, we moved to Australia early so we had plenty of time to find a flat before the year started.
Hey , I would like to know the details. I’m moving to uow this Feb for the course bachelor of medical and health science. Shortly after that, I plan on choosing MD . I’m from India and the fee structure from the uni website is terrifying me. Are there any ways I could get scholarships as an international student?
@@rosemariabinny7561 Unfortunately there aren't many scholarships for internationals in the MD course. The ones that do exist are like a one off payment to help with like extra supplies or whatever. I'm unsure about undergrad.
i have a q. I am gonn transfer to another uni which asks for a GPA. Wollong Uni has changed to WAM in the last couple of years, can anybody tell me the gpa equivalent of HD, D and C on a 4Band scale
Hey Jesse, in early April the 2023 admissions guide will be released and GEMSAS let me know in an email that requirements for rural applicants will be changing so just a heads up if you're not already planning on making an application process video based on the new guide this year :-)
Ah cool, thanks for the heads up! I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new admissions guide. I'm thinking I'll do an update video that summarises all the changes from 2022 to 2023 as an accessory to this series :)
universities across Australia constantly changing entry requirements for MD. Half of the difficulties of getting into mdd school come from find out the pathway suitable for you😂.

I'm a first year international med student at UoW. I'm loving it so far, if you have questions drop me a message.
Amazing! That's so good to hear. If I hear back from UoW this application round, I'll be in touch :)
How do you find the cost of living in the Gong?
