They are wonderful, especially Nicole. They (and others) have taken West Coast Swing to a whole new level. Sometimes acrobatics just interrupt dance. This pair dance while doing the lifts and other complex moves.

I love their athleticism and I appreciate the pushing of boundaries to expand the dance, but I find, as the audience, there is something of the pleasure and artistry lost when trying to pack so many acrobatic moves into the dance. It is, of course, an amazing feat, but I end up seeing each "trick" and not the flow and cohesiveness of the dance that brings that deep satisfaction of having watched a great West Coast Swing dance. This is more akin to going to the circus (as their outfits point to) and that is amusing in a different way from how I enjoy dance.

Amazing dancers! I think they're a little over-extended in this routine though as there are moments of struggle.
Just wondering if either of them had experience in ice skating. Their routine looked liked one I saw on ice. Different, I guess.
They don't, but that's not the first time I see someone comparing West Coast Swing dancers to ice skaters. Something in the fluidity of their moves, maybe...
Benji are you watching? It's amazing to see where these two have taken WCS and to imagine where they are going. I can't wait! Fabulous routine.

While extremely impressive, well executed, and imaginativly choreographed, I am not as moved by their performances. There is a flow and grace missing. They don't seem to feel, and truly express the music through their routines. I think this strays from WCS and is more akin to an ice skating routine or acrobatic performance. It is certainly impressive though!!!
I kind of agree, I think part of it is that there are definitely parts of this particular version of the song that just aren’t very emotional (the reverb, space-filler part at 2:25 for example), but the other part certainly comes down to them. I personally see this song as kind of angry almost, but the facial expressions they make are often kind of happy/cutesy (more like a K-pop girl band lmao). There are some instance where I thought they moved well with the music and expressed emotion through their face and their movements that fit the music and song, like at the very end they both slide into their ending poses and do it to the rhythm of the music and their movements and facial expressions kind of fit the angry/menacing feel of both the lyrics and the music. There are a couple of instance where the dance also seemed a bit choppy to me, not as fluent as I’m sure they intended, where they just wouldn’t quite meet each other right, or Thibault would catch her, but it seemed like just barely, or Nicole wouldn’t quite be in ready to perform a move.
