The Bay Area would simply implode without BART. Even in its post-Covid state, BART still carries more riders than the Bay Bridge over the Bay! BART is an extremely high-throughput system. The highways, which are already overloaded and not very efficient to begin with, have zero chance of absorbing that much traffic. It's just not physically possible. Just think about that for a second. What would happen to traffic on the Bay Bridge alone if BART stopped running and twice more people would be trying to get across the bridge. I'm not even going to mention the other traffic choke points all around the Bay. It would be a disaster of apocalyptic proportions. You'd basically never get anywhere anymore.
10:51 whoops 😂
Do you think that Bart will be around the next few years because the number of riders is down.
Crossing my fingers. Thanks Cynthia
