- Nepenthes are generally categorized as lowland or highland. (There are some which fall under the intermediate and ultra highland categories but we will discuss those in another video). Damon will talk about what the difference is in lowland and highland Nepenthes and how best to grow Lowland plants. For more information or to order checkout www.californiacarnivores.com
How would I lower the temperature at night for highlands? And can I use a heat mat for lowlands?
Can you reccomended any smaller compact lowland ? I have a heat panel And can go hot as you want but only have a four by two space!
Ampullaria is the best compact species!
Hi @California_Carnivores I was wondering what will the general price range be for these guys
There is no general price range. Nepenthes can go from 10-1000$ maybe even more
depends on the species/hybrid and size
Clipeata can stay outside on sumer in texas 80,90, 100 degrees?
That would be tough as they like high humidity and temps in the 70-90’s. It’s also so rare and special, I would recommend making it a special place inside instead 😊
Hi I bought a nepenthes sibuianensis * mariliana from you and I have noticed tiny ant's all over my plant they don't seem to be affecting it negatively but it's a bit alarming any info on this would be appreciated
The ants like to eat the Nepenthes nectar and the plants like to eat the ants. The Nepenthes become a canary in the coal mine; they let you know you have ants before the ants get into any of your food! I would get an ant trap and place it near the plant. The ants can infest the pot over time and you don’t want that so it’s best to eliminate the ants.
When are you suppose to release the lowland nepenthes?
We released them the weekend of November 20th and they sold out really quickly. We’ll try to add a few more plants throughout the winter. If you go to our website you can sign up for our newsletter - I always email everyone when we do a big inventory update ☺️
That big one is very impressive. What species or hybrid is it?
Probably some truncata hybrid. Maybe even pure?
Looks like nepenthes Caesar which is sibuyanensis x truncata
Can lowland nepenthes do well in 50-70 percent humidity?
Yes! They’ll be happier the more humidity you can offer them too.
@@California_Carnivores thank u
@@California_Carnivores does ampullaria black miracle do well in 50% humidity
@@haofanlaw1123 for such a special plant, I would make sure it has a lot of humidity. More like 70-90%
