I can't believe you are interviewing Derek Hough!!!! I love him! He was (& still is!) my favorite dancer! He's such a cool cat too. I'm so in awe of dancers. The amount of strength and stamina one has to have is incredible.
Fantastic interview! Derek was do articulate. What a complete human in every way. But Chris you were so gracious with your interview. Wonderful insightful questions that led to his openess and generosity with his answers. Really great interview that kept me interested from beginning to end. Miss you so much on CNN. No one they throw in your time slot comes close to your charisma, humor and intelligence.
Hello Chris, Greg and PRO dancing 🕺 people: How a pleasure to listen to him. You got it right : when teens, boys did not dance cause stayed as rocks drinking but their legs moving as the 80 and 90’s were spectacular under a music perspective. First, I ‘d like to share that TANGO is only from BUENOS ARES not from Argentina. It is “Porteño” from the word PORT. In the 20’s upper class boys had to scape and go underground to dance it as considered too much close. One of the amazing this of Tango is this: my father was a football player, swimmer 0:02 at Newell’sOld Boys from Rosario who moved to BSAS in his 17 and fell in love with this music. Once I asked him? How did he started dancing and why? The answer was WOMEN. If you did not dance they would never speak to you. In fact, one day of February reached the club Sol de Mayo and he was not sure to enter - His best friend told him the most beautiful woman ever seen was inside. She was my mother. I saw all the movies of Fred Astaire and Kelly: Exquisite Tap. DANCE is JOY as MUSIC Every-time I have a tough day before leaving I listen to different songs ( different styles) and DANCE. Do NOT Forget MAMBO!!!! By PRADO🔺 Tango: Piazzolla, Troilo, Pugliese / Libertango - Madre Selva - La Comparsita - Verano Porteño/ La Mariposa - Taquito militar by Mores and then do your research .😊 It’s as hard as any sport and doing professional is as hard except for the blood of his mouth - I didn’t know that. Keep on Dancing 💃- Moving - Living🍀🕺🕺🍀🍀 THANKS ChRIS - GREAT MOMENT 🍀🍀💃🕺🍀 -;)
DWTS is literally about stepping into someone else's shoes (and world), something that we could use a little more of right now. My favorite show was when 9-time world champion cowboy Ty Murray went all in. It was a huge inspiration to watch him step outside his comfort zone and gain respect for the try, no matter the outcome. Dance is a metaphor for so many life lessons, and Derek articulates them beautifully.
Good morning ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ 🌄 Chris and Greg Ott. Looking forward to seeing 👀 and hearing what David has to say. But , I lived during the disco Era 💃 👯♀️ 🕺 and ballroom was a big deal. Many cool 😎 dudes danced ! Will share to all my platforms and make some collage for later
I am way into ballroom as a fan. I love watching it. I started watching lots of ballroom and dropped woke sports totally. Derek is a dance legend. He deserves to be up there with Swayze and Astaire and Gene Kelly. It supplements everything.
@@tracyelogan7297 woke sports pushes politics and rainbows and kneeling and a lot of drama. Yes, those woke sports. I'll never watch your ghetto shit again. Never.
Lord, WTF? Please tell us all of these “woke” sports that you stopped. You guy’s use this word every day in everything. Yet can’t back it up. And if you even bring up “trans” in this. They are.0001 of our society. And much less of that in sports. Y’all really need to get over it. And worry about your own life and not theirs. It’s truly embarrassing to watch.
I love the interview we do all express ourselves through dance. Cultural and family relationships are made through dance which is a way of communicating to the people around you.
The football coach at my daughters ( ballet, tap, jazz. 12 year student ) had her come to football practice and put them thruu her warm up routine. She killed them. Lahter they challenged her to weight lifting. With her legs she " pressed " 600 lbs...ps she weighed about 115 lbs.
Good morning Chris and Greg Ott, listening and watching your podcast love it. You had me stopped when you spoke about Andrew Cuomo when it came to overnight with the men. I hung out in Cleveland, Ohio and overnight I watched men I never thought like Ironworkers and all sorts of tradesmen do disco.
music and dance...dance and music has been a life long passion for me thanks to a group of sisters who took this 2 left feet white girl and taught her about the rhythm, beats....get the fingers poppin for this beat, head bobbin to that, feet goin' for yet another beat.....i ran out of body parts to get movin!!! had i KNOWN!!!....back in the dino days that those would be the last of my dancing days, i MIGHT have kept one of those ol' boys around as....guys don't dance like they used to and so line dancing was a wonderful way to....have my cake and eat it too as.....no longer a need for a partner!!! allllllll the dancing i've seen derek do, my ALL TIME FAVORITE was his dance with a lady in a wheelchair!!! even now it puts a lump in my throat as he showed her she COULD.....dance!!! and you could see the wonder of THAT in her face. you are a one of a kind guy mr. hough and many many MANY blessings to you and your future wife as you dance your ways into the future!!!!
Creative Expression and Artistry through music and movement is the Joy of life. Its a precious gift you give when you encourage or show others its possibilities. Im considering this ep a gift from you to me 😂
I am not at all into DWTS whatsoever. I am not of the typical demographic audience whatsoever which tends to be middle aged, white and female. From what I have seen in the blog posts and the commentary on how it blows up on any issues on DWTS that comes up. But I thoroughly enjoyed the eye candy and listening to Derek Hough speak on his dance expertise and even non dance stuff. A refreshing interview with a grown azz man confident in himself and relishes dancing and it doesn't make him less of any kind of man.
Interesting interview. My bucket list here in this last quarter of expectancy would include "Dance more". Who doesn't love a good waltz in the living room with yourself.. Go Dancing!
I watched a documentary about dancing, I wrote down a quote of which I am unable to locate but his words were the embodiment of our life quest, if only I could remember. Thank you! Great lesson.❤❤❤
What a great interview. Made me so happy seeing the joy on both of your faces. Dance does that… it brings joy. In these trying times it’s a relief to be treated to an interview like this. Thank you so much.
I loved him on DWTS, & need to go to his new show! ❤ He’s an amazing talent! They dance beautiful together! 🥰 I love dancing & I’m in awe of dancers. Great interview Chris! 👍
I'm sorry, but what kind of parents ship their young kids off to another country/continent? I think Derek and Julianne were like 10-11 when they left. Julianne even said that she suffered from abuse while overseas. Idk the whole thing is just bizarre.
Unexpected though so much fun & entertaining positive conversation. There is so much involved into dancing physically and psychologically my opinion again with some expression of inhibition versus extraverted…it’s great though maybe not for everyone as many other disciplines…but watching pro dancers is fabulously entertaining 🇺🇸🇫🇷thank you Chris
I was born in Costa Rica and dancing as part of our culture. We dance all the time and I’m awesome at it. Dancing gives you an awesome feeling. It allows you to feel free move the way you want. Everybody should do it. For some reason people are too insecure because they think they’re not good dancers. Who cares what people think just do it!
That's what Hula became for me, a way to reclaim my femininity after not having danced for ten years for various reasons, and leading me to learning Isadora Duncan too. Dance comes in so many forms and styles, it's like a treasure chest to use for anything from exercise, to partnering, to release emotions. And having fun! And. How a man is on the dance floor, is how he is in bed!
It was basically just white guys who thought dance was effeminate and it was only for a short period of time, historically. Sewing and cooking went through the same type of thing. I think white men got really insecure, there for awhile, but they seem to have regained some of their senses in the past couple of decades thanks to famous men, like Derek, showing them the way.
The black community including men dance all the time!! It used to be a good way to meet men or women at the dance club!! Kids don't really dance like we used to...😏
Imagine the mentality and psychotic behavior that it took for several others to hang him from a tree by his ankles. I won't even tell you what I think those people deserve because I am too much of a gentleman
Yes, Chris I know you’re not awesome dancer! Like I said, it’s in your blood in our countries we dance all the time as little children every time we get together whether it’s parties any type of gathering we dance. Not like America you have to be drunk before you dance. How funny is that

When I was still married to him, my ex-husband belittled my daughter for receiving a jacket in high school for Choir!
It disturbed me so much! Sad!
I just recently found this channel and was overjoyed to see Derek Hough here! He's the main reason I saw so many yrs of DWTS. Great interview, Chris!

Heard of dancing with the stars don’t know who Derek Hough is but love the inspirational story.

Len was blessed to have Derek in his life, too.
Need his show schedule, I’ll be there. It would be a dream of a lifetime to see him in person. He is amazing. 🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️

I really like Deteck Hough.
Would you ever do dancing with the stars if they asked you?
That was fun to watch...

Great show! Great guest! Really enjoyed listening to you two. 😃
So does this mean you are going on DWTS? 😊😊😊
I love when Derek talks about Amy 'cause she was the first time I saw someone like myself in a show like that

By the way, women absolutely love men who love to dance! Most men need to stop being afraid, and start dancing!
You should have Val & Maksim Chmerkovskiy on your podcast. They have an interesting background in that they're Jewish and Ukrainian.
Dereck & Chris❌⭕️💋💃❤
Chris you’re Italian I know you’re a good dancer it’s in your blood. Italians or Spanish people it’s just simply in their blood.
The black community including men dance all the time!! It used to be a good way to meet men or women at the dance club!! Kids don't really dance like we used to...😏
Wow, glad you told the stories about the cruelty as a young dancer ! Look at you now ! Perservance.
Love Derek
Mr. Cuomo:
Can you please find a narrower microphone?
For a moment, I thought that your shirt said ‘Truly Defective’ which you truly are not.
That’s our world so sad
Imagine the mentality and psychotic behavior that it took for several others to hang him from a tree by his ankles. I won't even tell you what I think those people deserve because I am too much of a gentleman
Next project is to choose a hair color rather than the 101 Dalmation look or at least grab a comb....looking good Derek....
