    Hey Joe,hope you are doing well-I am in the discord but I watch this video from time to time as a refresher.I have many of the same holdings as you all do but I am a bit worried about VF Corp and 3M.I also invested in NEP (NEEs MLP) and FSK (a KKR BDC) what are your thoughts on those types of companies and 3M/Vf?

      We moved out of VFC a while ago and alerted annual subscribers when we did. Our "Quantigence Update: Year End 2022" webinar (available for monthly and annual subscribers) touched on this as well given we need to find a replacement for that slot. As for 3M, we touched on that at some point but we're really just waiting for more color. We're hoping the courts will demand that whoever is claiming damage to their hearing has medical proof of that. We had read very few of the "hundreds of thousands" of claimants had sufficient medical proof of hearing loss, though that doesn't seem to matter when it's all about sticking it to the evil corporations, right? This could set a very dangerous precedent. As for NEP and FSK, we don't have any thoughts as we cover a scope that's limited to all dividend champions above a certain market cap cutoff.

    Great video and an interesting idea! Wanted to hear your thoughts on dollar-cost-averaging a dividend growth ETF instead of a basket of dividend growth stocks, like SCHD or VIG? Both are low cost (0.06% expense ratio) and has several names from the Quantigence portfolio.

      That's a great idea. Check out NOBL which tracks aristocrats (a dividend aristocrat is a company in the S&P 500 index that has paid -- and increased -- its base dividend every year for at least 25 consecutive years) but note they charge 0.35% expense ratio for the favor.

    This is really great content. This approach has formalized a lot of independent thoughts I have over the years, but you do it way better since its programatic. I visited the Quantigence url but the Q-score calculator doesn't seem to have any data in it.

      You are welcome! Pay very close attention to the 3M lawsuit as it's not going well so far. If some of the world's greatest companies can be bankrupted for having a defective product then we're in a world of hurt. The "hang them from the trees" lot are clearly people who aren't thinking rationally about how this ought to be handled in a way that's fair to the company, the ambulance chasers leading the mob, and the people with ear damage.

      @@joepiv Thank you for replying! This 3M lawsuit is not looking good at all. This is why it is always good to minimize the risks while investing. Diversification is key, and some other people invest only in ETFs to limit their exposure in one particular stock.

    So is it your opinion that most people should invest mostly in dividend growth companies? I'm 30 and I figure growth would outpace dividend growth stocks. But it would be best to make the wise decision now and not in 20 years.

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  2 года назад +2

      There's an accompanying research piece that spells this out a bit more clearly (www.nanalyze.com/2022/12/investing-in-2023-managing-risk/). If you're thirty, you have perhaps 35 years until you need to start drawing on your nest egg provided you retire at 65. Lots of time, so you can definitely tilt heavy towards riskier assets should you like. Decide on a ratio between the three buckets we described in the piece and start building your portfolio(s).

      @@meNtor890 Thanks man! It's always an adventure around here. I never started an Instagram account because I just didn't want to start "doing it for the gram." I meet too many of those people. I travel for adventures and cultures. I would have been a cultural anthropologist, but no money in that. Now I do it as a hobby ;) I talk a bit about my travels on the Nanalyze Discord server.
