I was not a fan of the first generation A class. It was too tall and boxy. However it is practical and can carry a lot of stuff for a compact car. I say that knowing that a family member drives one. The second generation appealed much more to me, but was no available in Canada. Now, the new model will be available here. It is definitely a car that I would consider driving. Thanks for the excellent review.

I drove the second generation for a few weeks on holiday and it was still, just so awkward looking and feeling. Then came the 3rd generation and this was a very different world. The latest A Class really feels like a Mercedes-Benz. It’s a beautiful compact car and the interior and infotainment system is just pure class. I think Mercedes will be the winner here, both in Europe and the Americas ❤️

Good aerodynamics play an important part here - the cd is only 0.25 and this makes the car very quiet. Out of the hatches available, this is probably one of the quietest if not the quietest 😊
Another great review Anna! Croatia looks fantatsic, and so does the new A class, with you behind the wheel of course :) I prefer the GLA, but this is a vast improvement on the previous model. The new Mercedes dash I think is the best is the business, really like that long dislpay. Would love to see your take on the new G class :)

Nice video! I wish they sold the A class hatch here in the US. Instead we get the GLA which is not the same thing. We are getting the sedan at least, but with the base petrol engine...
Hi Jack, thank you so much ❤️ The new A-Class is a Mercedes, it looks, feels and drives like a Mercedes. It's a step up, a different class to the VW GTI. It handles better, the transmission is nice n' smooth (I've tested the automatic), not to mention all the beautiful interior/infotainment system. The A-Class has got a brand new infotainment system and it's brilliant, it's the first Merc they've installed it in. The VW is a little 'been there, done that', it's a lovely car, but the Merc looks is like a fresh sweet cookie! ❤️

I like your honesty with Mercedes dashboard AI system. When it was said, "I am cold". The dashboard system did not answer by suggesting to raise the temperature. Moreover, it was brought in the video the fact that those changes couldn't be made by voice while the engine is on. Thanks for the breakthrough review.
Hola Anna. Great review. The filming location is very nice. Definitively, Croatia offers very beautiful scenario with gorgeous sunsets. The new A-Class of Mercedes has an attractive and sophisticated interior, very much in the style of the current trend in Mercedes. But in fact, it's the only thing that attracts me to this automobile. Personally, I have never considered the A-Class a worthy representative of Mercedes Benz. Although, it is a fact that has improved a lot compared to its predecessors, but still doesn't convince me. I like Hatchbacks, I have always found them very fun to drive and practical by their handling and dimensions. Currently the market offers very good alternatives. I really like the Hyundai I30 N, Peugeot 308 especially in its variant GTi, VW Golf, also Audi A3 and Seat Leon. Te mando un gran saludo. Que tengas una linda tarde 🌻

Hi Gultekin 😊 thank you ❤️ The 180 and 200 are exactly the same in terms of size. It’s only the ride quality that is different. The 250 has had the most horse power. Croatia was quite warm, 22-23 degrees but not yet the swimming weather sadly! Warm wishes sending to Izmir 😊

I see a lot of matt paint on higher Mercedes models, here in Switzerland. The MBUX infotainment comes as standard in the new A Class, the only thing you need to pay extra is the large screen. Even with the smaller screen, I think it’s just brilliant!

Yes, there are so many Vlog and RUclips car reviewers now, the car companies can only fit so many in! If you check the registration plates on the A-Class launch, Anna had to share her A250 with Thomas and Michel from Autogefuhl, and Mat from Carwow. Mat said in his video that there was no space on the launch for his camerman, so he had to do the videoing himself. His cameraman missed out on the free-bees! All the car Vloggers will soon be fighting over who gets to go...
Yeah I noticed that same reg. no popping up in a few other videos. interesting about Matt not having his cameraman with him, whilst it looks like Anna did.

Guys - yeah, I noticed they were sharing cars, but don't worry, I think this reviewer is a car enthusiast, and the videos are v entertaining; and have a few likeable and appealing differences to the numerous other short 'car reviewers' out there - we also sometimes get good views of the driving part looking forward through the windscreen, which is fun for driving enthusiasts...! There is something for everyone out there. Personally, I find Thomas' video's a bit dry and overly technical, so I don't watch them... unless its a car I'm REALLY interested in. Anna's videos are a nice bit of escapism and the chance to see some cool, beautifully shot scenery, new cars and maybe introduce me to something that may have otherwise passed me by.

I always feel like the reviewers are helping hide something (like a tight space) for the car companies when they don't show us the back seats and the space. Its luxury hatch, not a hot hatch. It looks like it gives you luxury but the fun driving experience like the Hyundai i30n. Maybe a different kind of fun
Not impressed. Seems like they are using the A class to bug out the new MBUX and implement the fixed MBUX into higher models like C, E, S, G version. I prefer the older model for the exterior.
And what would be the alternative? To not even have those optical Exhaust pipes? No one notices that they are not welded to the real exhaust - so what? A car whose exhaust pipes are so big and are welded to the real exhaust looks crappy, because you need plenty of space between the pipes and the rear bumper - think first. You cannot do it better like this!
Its okay, this video more than made up for my 0.5 seconds of initial disappointment! I seriously thought you were going to say "Hey Mercedes, Im really hot" when talking to the in car command system! A point I think many will have agreed with after watching this video! 😄
That instrument binnacle being self contained in an oblong box like that reminds me of the old Rover SD1 (not a car I expect you're particularly familiar with Anna). But all the dials were in a similar shaped box to that Mercedes layout and for exporting to LHD markets the box could simply be bolted onto the other side of the dash. The hole where the steering column would go through was plugged with an air vent! Classic British 1970's engineering!

I know you have to see some car designs in person to really 'get' them, but this exterior design feels like a step backwards. To my eyes, it looks like a Hyundai hatch trying to look like a Mercedes.

Yes, there are so many Vlog and RUclips car reviewers now, the car companies can only fit so many in! If you check the registration plates on the A-Class launch, Anna had to share her A250 with Thomas and Michel from Autogefuhl, and Mat from Carwow. Mat said in his video that there was no space on the launch for his camerman, so he had to do the videoing himself. His cameraman missed out on the free-bees! All the car Vloggers will soon be fighting over who gets to go...

Guys - yeah, I noticed they were sharing cars, but don't worry, I think this reviewer is a car enthusiast, and the videos are v entertaining; and have a few likeable and appealing differences to the numerous other short 'car reviewers' out there - we also sometimes get good views of the driving part looking forward through the windscreen, which is fun for driving enthusiasts...! Keep up the good work, Girl on Swiss Roads - good luck - and thanks for your videos.
There is something for everyone out there. Personally, I find Thomas' video's a bit dry and overly technical, so I don't watch them... unless its a car I'm REALLY interested in. Anna's videos are a nice bit of escapism and the chance to see some cool, beautifully shot scenery, new cars and maybe introduce me to something that may have otherwise passed me by.

Thank you Ingvar. I've started from the very bottom, having no network and access to press cars. It does take a while to build up the credibility. Hard work, time, patience and slowly but surely I'll get there. I have tested the Portofino recently and the video will be published in the upcoming weeks.

I always feel like the reviewers are helping hide something (like a tight space) for the car companies when they don't show us the back seats and the space. Not impressed. Seems like they are using the A class to bug out the new MBUX and implement the fixed MBUX into higher models like C, E, S, G version. I prefer the older model for the exterior.

A car whose exhaust pipes are so big and are welded to the real exhaust looks crappy, because you need plenty of space between the pipes and the rear bumper - think first.
You cannot do it better like this!

I seriously thought you were going to say "Hey Mercedes, Im really hot" when talking to the in car command system! A point I think many will have agreed with after watching this video! 😄
That instrument binnacle being self contained in an oblong box like that reminds me of the old Rover SD1 (not a car I expect you're particularly familiar with Anna). But all the dials were in a similar shaped box to that Mercedes layout and for exporting to LHD markets the box could simply be bolted onto the other side of the dash. The hole where the steering column would go through was plugged with an air vent! Classic British 1970's engineering!

I know you have to see some car designs in person to really 'get' them, but this exterior design feels like a step backwards. To my eyes, it looks like a Hyundai hatch trying to look like a Mercedes.

Girl on Swiss Roads Agreed. The Korean's are edging closer and closer to the Germans in terms of designs, and they've made smart, but hard earned progress in the car market for the past few decades.
