I bricked mine I think by installing an older Wii menu then booting into my version of Just Dance 2 SE Best Buy edition

Also friendly reminder, you need an 32 MB at the minimum SD card to back up your nand, mine wasn't compatible either but idfk how i did it, but i got it working! I have the back up nand on my computer and it wasn't boot2 compatible, im not very tech savy ao correct me if any of this sounds right or wrong.
You should have a boot.elf file and a boot.nand file
I think you wanted to write 32 gb, but the nand is only 0.5 g so a 4g sd card should do it
It might be easier using a usb drive

Iirc You can't downgrade your Wii to a version lower than what the console was shipped with, or it leads to a brick.
I.e. if your console shipped with 4.0, you cannot downgrade to 3.8
How I bricked mine was it was actually a vwii but anyway I was installing a theme. It worked for a hot minute and then when I relaunched it I got a black screen, I fixed it luckily but yeah.

Hey customizing your wii menu is extremely risky
The system files are corrupted screen dosent mean your Wii is bricked. Sometimes you may get it while switching through menus.
Considering all of the extremely weird and dangerous shit he’s been doing with the system menu (downgrading your Wii system menu is super dangerous and generally is not recommended), iOS, and channels, yeah it’s pretty likely this is a brick.
This is a brick. Downgrading the system menu is _extremely_ risky so it's not surprising that this happened. Don't mess with your ios/region/version unless you know what you're doing.
I have a homebrewed Wii. I would never do this! Downgrading your Wii’s firmware is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! And is not recommended at all!
An IOS/System Menu brick would only be recoverable through having BootMii@boot2, otherwise, it needs a hardmod to fix.
Pretty similar to what happened to me except worse because I forgot I had a third party game in the disc slot and it tried to update only to say it failed and turned it on to a black screen, and forgot to install bootmii or priiloader

@@ubahni By Ignoring the tutorial saying to install bootmii and later not knowing what it was for (and at the time I didn't know what priiloader was)
I bricked my wii by installing a us firmware on it with wiimod lite and after the instalation in saod error at the bottom right corner of the screen and it froze,i restarted it and nothing appeared on the screen, i tried preloader but it didnt work,it was clear i bricked it,it has been a good 4 years since this happened, although i am getting a wii u soon whivh does have a virtual wii so its kind of the same experience,although i was crying for days after the tragic accident with my wii which was totally my fault😭😭😭

I uninstalled my menu by accidentally pressing backup on bootmii, it ran for nearly the first line, i quit by powering off and tried restore, ended up giving me no signal when going into the menu, however, the homebrew channel works. Ill call it bricked and fix it.
EDIT: I used a NAND creating tool to fix it, it is now fixed.
You can restore the nand fully again and it will work

Why did you try to restore the nand? Also, bootmii warns you about overwriting the nand before writing it to the SD card.

You could also delete your nand on the wii to permanently brick your wii, just a sugestion. But thanks for the tutorial! I bricked 10 wiis with this tutorial!

Did you try physically hitting your Wii with a brick? That could be the reason, It worked for me when I tried it.

I've never actually seen a particularly dirty Wii inside. Kinda weird
I low level bricked mine by uninstalling cfw and unplugging the a/c cord in the process. It was totally dead afterwards and I finished the job by smashing the Wii with an actual brick. Fuck it.
You could've sell it online or give it to someone that specializes in wii moddding maybe they would be interested in that

im probably not gonna downgrade it, at least not on real hardware (cuz i dont want to have wasted money if i broke it) but is there a way to do so while keeping the apps? i think to do that you use the startup disk
i think tho it deletes some apps. if i use a emulator i can load on apps easily so thats no problem

Common issue with sketchy or low quality channel banners/WADs. A reboot will likely fix.

He was editing his nand (system hardware)
so many times and kept deleting and installing channels downgraded especially the system menu which was a bad idea and finally he thought it was a good idea to just delete the system menu which caused a brick

I bricked my old Wii by first having no protections. I was young and dumb and didn't understand that I needed BootMii and Priiloader. Then I tried downloadloading version 1.0 of the Wii menu one night after getting the .wad on my SD Card and downloading it from some homebrew file downloader. After that, over 4 years of Wii data was gone. I have since gotten a new Wii.

@@hedhlymarwen8478 i recommend grabbing all files on your pc/phone insert the new sd card put it in if you can't fix that try taking out the hdd and replace it
