Crows are the most loyal of birds. My late elderly Mother would give them all her left overs and they were very happy. When she fell and I got to the house before the ambulance. As they loaded her into the ambulance I noticed the yard was silent other than passing traffic. I followed the ambulance to the hospital and the crows, the entire group, followed. Once I parked and went inside I saw the crows circling this huge building until they found a place they could hang out and watch the door. She didn't come out for 5 days and went into the inpatient rehab facility. She was there a month. When she was discharged my older brother and I got her home. You'd swear that every crow in our state were hanging out in our mighty oaks. One had seen her arriving and had cawed out some collection of caws and they started arriving. I told my Mom to look up her friends were happy to see her return. In their own way they gave her a standing ovation.

      They are highly intelligent birds.
The noorse vikings, used to take them on boats, because they are landbirds, and cant float, but have extremely good eyes.
So if the bird came back, it meant, there was no land in sight. - If it didnt, they would sail the way, the crow flew.
Hence the saying; As the crow flies.

They literally put the straw into the narrow juice opening and started drinking we just couldn't hold of that moment! 😮 We had been cautious of our food from humans but they you go, nobody anticipated some bird thiefs! 😂 We let them drink and enjoyed watching them. 😊

A friend of mine had one… as a pet, kind of ?. Even would perch on the roof bar of his pickup when he drove to work but would go back to his house after a couple of miles and wait for his return. He’d often sit in his garden at weekends with the crow perched on his shoulder.

I really wish that one day i have the chance to show how much love i have to give to an animal like this crow!! I don't have much luck with humans, constantly beeing let down made me isolate myself and feel very lonely most of the time... I couldn't care for a dog because i'm not very well since a few years now so a companion like this crow is would be perfect!! My mom told me when i was a kid i frequently brought injured birds and other little animals home and cared for them until they were healthy again and let them free. I hope to get better soon so that i can go out in the wood for walks more often, always carrying nuts and other things for birds, squirrels and deers to feed them and maybe gain the trust of one and become friends 🙏🙏🙏

Indeed. Crows, ravens and other corvids put nuts on the road to be crushed open by cars, and can use tools. If you put a nut in the middle of a tunnel they can’t fit in, and you give them a straw, they will manage to push out the nut and take it. Amazing creatures.
