      At 2:04 Why did you test between terminals S21 and S22 TO 24V+? Could you not test these going to 0v? or am I missing something? Thank You for your videos!

    Awesome video! Will there be an video explaining how to add multiple e-stops to the circuit (if possible with this relay)

      I've seen circuits where e-stops buttons have been wired in serial and connected to one safety relay.This together meet safety requirements but only with certain type of emergency stop button.

    Why in the second channel s21-s22 are you chekcing it with +24? its because there is 0v on this channel? sorry for my english and thanks!

    when testing terminals s21 and s22 couldnt you just use the 24v from s11 as there is always going to be voltage there anyway?

      Probably yes. But when testing I want to be 100 % sure that at least one probe is connected to +24V or 0V.

      @@AboutElectricity by testing from a 24v source wouldnt you always have 24v on terminal s21 and s22 as if you're testing from a 24v source to another point the p.d will be 24v please correct me if I'm wrong

    So if I understand, voltage difference between s11 and s12 should be 0v (same for s21 and s22). Is there ever not going to be voltage at the channel terminals? Thanks, love the videos man.

      1. In theory, yes.
      The voltage difference between S11 and S12 is 0V.( because channel is NC)
      But if you apply probes between S11 and S12 you will have a reading of 0V whether the channel will be open or closed (unless my safety relay is faulty :) )That is why I check the inputs as shown on the video.
      2.When you power the relay there will be always voltage at S11 ( black probe to 0V, red to S11)
      and S21 (black probe to +24V, red to S21)

      No, it's on the machine somewhere. it might be near the emergency button.

    It does not really make sense checking voltage on safety relay.🤔 It can be misguiding. I have relay which shows all sort of different voltages. S11-12 is linked where S11 is 0V but S12 is 24V. S21-S22 is connected to the E-stop NC block and both contacts are 0V. I also have S31 and S32 with the other E-stop contact on it but they both shows 24V. So what's the sense in here?
    😪The reset circuit also behaves differently. S33 is 24V but S34 is always 0V opposite what you have in this video.
    I have the same feedback loop with two relays like you have. 🤐Please advise!

      You are saying S11-S12 is linked? So you only have one NC contact in your e-stop ?

      @@AboutElectricity No! This is a PILZ PNOZ XV2 where you have S11-S12, S21-S22 and S31-S32. The two NC contacts go to S21-S22 and S31-S32.

      @@berkotropia ok, now I get it. It is different safety relay. According to what you just wrote safety relay is wired to e-stop with detection of shorts across contacts.
      Checking voltage across safety inputs will tell you the state of NC contact of your e-stop button. One set of safety inputs should have 24V and the other set should have 0V.

      @@AboutElectricity 🙂Yeah, this sounds better to me. My measurement proves your explanation so far! So probably S21-22 and S31-32 pair kind of work together? I guess so because S21-22 both always zero, while S31-32 are 24V or 0V depending on the e-stop.
      I better try a simple safety relay because these special ones might have different working way. Many thanks!
