I have been building garments for 64 years and just want to say THANK YOU so much for offering quality cotton jersey fabric!! This quality used to be standard back in the day, but sadly has largely been replaced by what I call "rubber band" knits which have so much spandex and are so thinly woven that they are just plain icky to sew and wear. I have made wonderful summer hoodies and summer pants using your jersey and the drape and sturdiness is unsurpassed.
Oh my goodness Faith! You have made our day! What a wonderful note. We appreciate your support of our batiks and we will always produce the highest of quality fabrics! This is why!!
Thank you so much for this video -- it's very helpful and I'm reassessing my choices w.r.t. your mis-printed jersey. I've been wondering if using the purl (wrong) side of the jersey as the outside of a cardigan might give a smoother experience when worn over a jersey knit top. Specifically, the smoother knit side of the cardigan would be sliding over the smoother knit side of the top -- all the purl ridges are on the outside of the cardigan or on the inside of your top. (Although I wonder whether this effect would be negligible at the tiny scale of a jersey knit.) But please let us know if you can tell any difference!
This is a great question. The right side of the knit is definitely smoother. Right side to right side will allow a knit to be worn together without taking minutes to "straighten/smoothen" the sweater after putting it on. The weave of the jersey knit is tiny. I have sewn the knit with the wrong side out and absolutely no one can tell the difference.
