Thank you. I restored my cas3 module. I used ACDP and the process was a little different but in the end the car was perfect without even needing to program the CAS because ACDP prepped a eeprom file with the DME ISN and the VIN etc.
Hi Tim, i have the same problem, but with a different cas number. When you changed the bit in the line F90 to D2 AA 55, does this apply to all cas numbers? In my case when i read my cas with xprog, in line F90 i see AE AA 55. Is It nessesary to change these bits as you state in the video?
Nowadays, this is mechanics work.... It's getting crazier everyday... yesterday I was repairing an immo box for a 1996 Merc E class... because there aren't any left in the parts system and the customer wants to keep the car... This one gets me everyday, 2007-2018 sprinter vans, did you know there are only 34 remote keys in inventory in the US?? the dealer has to build a case for each key they try and order.. and they won't even try and order an extra key.. only all keys lost.. This is actually great for the rest of us, I do a couple each week.. :-)
question about the editing software - looks like you use arbrites, when I looked them up it is EXPENSIVE... OK for a shop, what can you suggest for the DIY/small guy? great video, thanks.
Yes, I use Abrites... It is $1,500.00 for the intial setup.. and most of the special functions are included.. You can look at the Autel setup, $3,500.00 plus $1,200.00 a year for updates.. and it won't do a lot of what Abrites will do.. I am actually using VVDI prog to edit the file.. it's about $400.00 for that setup..
Thank you Tim for this video. I have this similar case. BMW E70 MY 2008 system keyless go, in AKL situation. Read CAS and ECU (EDC16CP35) on bench and prepared one transponder. Try on the car, but nothing happens, NO light up! Programmed only flash of CAS with programmer with one file of another donor CAS (lower version) and key work ! Car start only one time, after is not possible to crank engine. Find ISN of DDE (2Bytes) and they are similar of last bytes of ISN CAS 4Bytes. CAS ISN 16Bytes are ‘FF’. I’ve try to make another key in another position but is not possible. At this point with transponder and KEY_ON I have try to make sync CAS-DDE, but isn’t possible. I think maybe both CAS and DDE was corrupted but I don’t understand why ???? Any idea for fix this case, please?
Good work, here in the UK autel 908p is much safer in my experience flashing BMW. I have AVDI full but use 908p as it has never bricked BMW modules like my avdi has and it flashes so much faster over Ethernet
You are going to laugh... Took the module back to the car at my friends shop, put the module into the car and encrypted the ISN, then synced to DME.. we fired up ISTA/P and tried to flash... We were doing this to update the data in the DME because of a cold start/run problem... Guess what, ISTA/P bricked the CAS again.... We put the 2nd CAS into the car and encrypted and synced to the DME, pulled out the Autel 908p and tried to flash the DME... it kept failing.... Not sure what is up with this car... These are the learning experiences that stick in your mind the next time you run into this problem... We have started a ticket with the ISTA/P tech support, we'll see how that works out...
Tim Tracy did you try programming it with WinKFP already? If not, give it a shot! It did let me succesfully program all modules i tried it with whilst other software had failed me a few times before.
I try and use WinKFP, and fail miserably..... I have a couple versions, and none will do much of anything... I even bought Icom 2 to use it instead of the K-can dongle... If you know somewhere to download a version that works... please let me know where...
Tim Tracy I’ve had my complete installation for a while and haven’t touched it for over a year, don’t have the original installers or the daten files anymore. NCS expert i’m still using about every day, WinKFP maybe once a month. I will take a look at what version WinKFP and EDIABAS i’m running. Since i don’t really remember, daten files i’ve used the latest version i could get a hold of. For WinKFP there’s a specific procedure for importing the daten into the program, i can send you a guide PDF for importing the daten and setting up WinKFP. Meanwhile, did it gave you errors during programming? If so, could you please provide some info as to what these error messages where, what steps you took prior to and while flashing? I’m using a genuine BMW ICOM Next and it works really well on all BMW models,E and F series for diagnostics, programming and coding. Flashing with a decent K+DCAN should be sufficient tho for a CAS module.
Tim Tracy i’ve quickly checked what versions i’m on. WinKFP - 5.3.1 EDIABAS - 7.3.0 SP-DATEN - 3.59.0.600 AKA V59 Also make sure you’re running it on a 32 bit operating system. I’ve been running this setup for 2 years with windows 7 32 bit running in a VM on a MacBook.
Do you offer a CAS3+ repair service? The CAS module is not bricked but it seems to be on its way out. When the car warms up it seems that the CAS might be overheating or something and not working, the first time it happened I pulled the CAS relay in the glove and it was hot, I let it cool put it back in and it started right up. Second and third time it happened I did the same thing but the car would not crank, I waited like 35-40 min tried again and it cranked right up. If you do provide this service I would love to have you repair it for me you seem to have a great understanding on how these CAS modules work. Thank you.
no we don't.. only to locals garages.. I would contact a local locksmith, they should be able to clone your CAS and then you can try that one and see if it is the problem.. My question is, does your car have comfort access?, where the door handles have squiiggly lines on them? we have had the handles, which are the antennaes go bad and cause issues..
@@timtracy9442 Yes I do have comfort access and it has not worked since I got the car 2 years ago. Interesting, what issues exactly would they cause? Nothing in my comfort access system works, door handles, mirrors folding after locking and unlocking car, keyless start, etc... Thank you for the speedy response and info brother!
@@dannynavarro126 go find the Comfort Access Module, if it's a 3 series, look in the right side of the trunk, they are usually above the battery behind the insulation.. We have these a lot, when the antenaes short out, it causes the car not to start, if you scan the car, it shows a steering lock fault.. the Comfort module is in the circuit between the CAS and the steering lock.. we usually just unplug the plug on the module.. then ask the customer if they want us to troubleshoot the handles or just leave it unplugged..
Very owsome video big guy ..can you please check somewhere in your old saved videos I need some bench connections on a bmw e90 cas 2 I'm using an autel im508 and m still a Newby on this platform
Very good job. So after the writing of flash and eeprom to your cas ,you went on reflashing with avdi.. avdi dis automatically put vin in the cas? Did it also put the isn from dme to the cas or did you do that yourself? Is this exact procedure the same with ista p?
Well, I rewrote the CAS with a flash file from another cas module with same part number.. I fixed the eeprom by changing the lock bits in it.. The Flash is basically the operating system of the module, the eprom holds the vin and key data... If you watch the video, I state that the shop had used Ista P and it had bricked the module.. it is common for ista p to brick older cas modules.. As for the exact procedure with ISTA, Ista is the factory tool, YOU HAVE NO OPTION WITH ISTA TO UPDATE A SINGLE MODULE.. ISTA STARTS AT THE CAS OR THE FOOTWELL MODULE, THEN UPDATES ALL THE MODULES ON THE CAR.. TOTALY DIFFERENT THAN AVDI..
Love the sound it’s an improvement from the old silent films. So you had the Vvdi BMW tool and the Avdi bmw tool and your test set up to get this done. Was this just a extra key or lost key to start out? Or was this cleanup from someone else’s headache?
Your going to laugh... One of the shops I work with alot, mainly because he is an awesome tech, called me and said he had a 2008 3 series that he was using the factory tool (ISTA) to update the DME because of the High Pressure Fuel Pump issues, and it bricked the CAS... I got another CAS with the same part number, and adapted to the car, then figured I would try and fix his... So we had 2 CAS modules that started the car and all was well, he tried to update the DME software again, and ISTA bricked the 2nd CAS... He sent BMW tech support an email and they said he needed to replace the CAS module... We put the original back in the car, all was well, then we used AVDI to upgrade the software in just the DME... The issues with the high pressure Fuel Pump went away, and car ran great... There is a TSB on these to replace the High Pressure Fuel Pump sensor and then update the software in the DME... The shops customer was happy the car didn't have to go to BMW....
Could you have done this with the vvdi2 tool? I’m looking at getting a vw tool and bmw. AVDI is a little expensive. Is the vvdi China’s copy of the AVDI? Or did they developed their own software? I do know the vvdi tech support is little to none. AVDI will have better support but like I said cost is a factor for me. Plus if one is real hard I’ll send it to you.
@@tomking3942 I haven't seen where VVDI can do this... But they might have it soon... There is a service that you can subscribe to and get CAS files to fix a CAS that has been screwed up.. I can't remember the name, but guys are talking about it on facebook...
friend you would have the electric manual of the instrument panel as it is on your workbench, i need to connect mine that i have here also positive, gnd and the lines can l and can h
Thanks so much!!! I don't have a "simulator", so once I flash the CAS with VVDIProg using working donor CAS to restore good flash Can I plug the CAS into the car normally and proceed with Abrites programming? Anything else I need to do after I put the CAS back in regarding the DME?
I have had a couple lately that I flashed with the flash from a used module, and the eeprom was totally messed up.. couldn't seem to save it.. I wrote the eeprom and flash from the new/used CAS, then put it in the car and programmed a key to position 8, then was able to read the ISN from the DME, then I wrote the DME's ISN to the cas, encrypted, then synced cas to dme, and car started..
Today I reconnected the negative terminal to the battery and viola car had power again and started fine, remote locks work. Then all of a sudden it died again, and then I remembered my car has an open recall for the main B+ battery wire to fuse box. After doing a google search this the symptoms seem to line up with my problem!
You could do all this. You could use Autel to help but that’s just as long winded which leaves chances of failure greater because you could forget a process, or you could take the easy option. An option which would allow you to drink a coffee whilst lounging back on a chair and doing nothing but watch a blue scrolling bar as the process completes. WHAT? Yeah baby. Just plug in obdstar x300 DP PLUS and select broken CAS file repair. Hit go and get comfy.
I have 2008 535xi. problem is it will not recognize the key and does exactly like your test dash at the end of this video. Has a new battery and starter, and ignition switch/fob holder. My local BMW shop says that the DME and CAS are not showing any faults and that they are synced. He said that the antenna ring was not communicating but said there was no code. Question is how did you get your to recognize the original key. Benn banging my head against a wall for a month until I saw your video. 1st thing I have seen that shows the exact thing my car is doing.
First, what is your shop using to diagnois the car? next, are you sure your key is good? Is the key programmed into the CAS? What I did in the video was to read the data, fix the lock bits, then write a good flash to the CAS. I actually fixed the cas and then made a copy of it. At the car, put original in, and the car started and my friend tried using ISTA again, halfway thru flashing the CAS, it bricked it again, we put another CAS with the same data, and ISTA bricked it too... I rewrote the original CAS and then used AVDI to update the I level on the DME, that was what the mechanic was trying to do with ISTA... BMW ISTA support told my friend he needed to purchase a new CAS and program it in...
@@timtracy9442 I am not sure what software he is using. he did program a new key but it does the same thing the old one did, so pretty sure it is not the key, I also cut the old key apart and put in a new battery just in case it was that however it still only locks and unlocks the car but will not allow car to enter startup. Only thing he told me was that the "antenna ring" was not communicating with cas but said there was no code. I thought the antenna ring would be in the fob holder but I am probably wrong, however I did put a new one on just to check and it changed nothing. Just tired of paying people who say they know what they are doing for nothing. I am one of those people who has always just done my own wrenching but that is on American cars, I know this is completely different but at the end of the day for the money I am spending to have it worked on by a shop I am about ready to just buy the programs and learn to do it myself. Really a shame how crappy most shops are now days, just used to people who don't know any better throwing money at them. I guess at this point would I better of money wise to just buy a new cas and have it programed to the car instead of risking taking it someone who may or may not know how to fix the existing one?
@@bendoran9883 OK, so the key locks and unlocks the car, but when you put it in the slot, the car does nothing?? When you put the key in the slot, does any light on the cluster light up?? Next, have you gone to the fuse box in the trunk and checked all the fuses?? there are three fuses that feed the CAS, if the 5 amp is blown, you can talk to CAS, program a key, but it won't turn on terminal 15.... also, do your door handles have any sqiggles on them? as in, does the car have keyles go? that is where you can walk up to car and touch the handle and the car unlocks. let me know what you find.. I am curious now...
@@timtracy9442 Key will lock and unlock doors intermittently, have to take negative cable off and back on the key will lock and unlock again. When key is placed into slot the car dings and shows the key with a slash though it, and a gear with exclamation point in the center ( that one only shows up once then goes away), the only other light that comes on other than floor and dome lights is the neutral light on the shifter blinks. Also you can hear the fans on on the Idrive spool up but nothing appears on the display. The fans do go off after about 5 min so it is evidently going back to sleep. I have been through both fuse panels, and everything checks fine. No on the keyless go. Only thing i have been told since talking to you is that if the car was shut off while in gear the CAS may have corrupted that key code and that it will still lock and unlock but will not start car. I am at a loss and tired of throwing money at the thing. I only have $1,700 in the thing and should probably just start parting it out but I hate to let something get the better of me especially if there is a chance it is just something stupid easy once I track it down.
i have a question regarding last part about key not being recognised, what was it in the end? . i'm in the same situation now hence my quest finding possible solutions. mini 2006, cas3. programmed a new key (original one was not recognised either) and car does not recognise it (shows the same key symbol like yours) although if i go into cas module i can see it. cas module shows no faults. i've ran out of ideas..
Usually that happens when the flash is corrupt... I just finished a 2008 3 series that someone else had tried to make a key to, but they corrupted the flash.. I could talk to the module, make a key, but when I would open the program it showed no key in slot.. I finally wrote a flash from a CAS that i got to replace the CAS in this video.. I wrote the Flash, then wrote its coresponding eprom, made a key and it showed it in the slot, then I wrote the original to this CAS's eprom, and used one of the keys I had made for it that it didn't see in the slot, and it worked... remember, the flash is like the operating system, and the eprom is all the specific vehicle data..
Hello friend. Thank you for your video... i have a similar problem with an E70 X5. When programming with ISTA/P something went wrong and now I can not open switch to illuminate dashboard and car won't start. However I don't have CAS fault codes when scanning. I sent my cas to programming and now switch does open to the first position but not the second. What do you recommend? Do you think the problem is still my cas?
I would say yes, your CAS has corrupt data.... I would find a CAS with same part number and read data(eprom and Flash) and compare the data... Usually when any programmer writes back the flash on an Ista/P 45 or newer CAS, it either rearranges or leaves out some of the data... Good luck.... what part number is your CAS??
Hit Tim could you help me with the electrical diagram for the PCM simulator, CAS, CLUSTER and Ignition Sw. I tried to do it but I think I have or I am missing a connection. What is the cost thanks?
Thank you for this informative video...One time it happened to me while using Chinese clone arbites and bricked my CAS...after a panic and not knowing what to do, I used Winfkp to reprogram the CAS and LUCKILY it came back to life.... The guys in europe or china are not helpful at all. any ideas? thanks
Are you using some kind of CAN filter with the cluster so that mileage isn’t swapped accidentally if one module is higher than the other or do you change the mileage before doing work each time?
Thank you for your response! I’m trying to put together a bench setup as well. I seen you commented below on possibly doing a video on how you wired yours up. I’d love to see that sometime or any input on doing it would be greatly appreciated!!
Hello, I have BMW 325d CAS3+ module, the car does not unlock and lock without any keys, the car can be opened by LAUNCH, ISTA shows and leads everything to CAS, no antenna or keys are at fault. The software has an error in it, how do i fix or reprogram it as from factory? Also tried with older version CAS3+ module and everything works.
do you have the handles that have lines on them?? if so, go to the right side of trunk and look for the Comfort Access Module, it is on the right side of trunk up above the battery.. if your handles go bad, IE, they short out, it will knock out the remote portion of the keyless entry.. if it is a mechanical issue in the CAS, you can get the same part number and move data over from yours to the new/used module rather easy..
@ Already moved data from original to another CAS block, and it's excatly the same thing nothing changed, i have sedan, I'll take a look at the trunk module, do i have to look for specific problem or what? At last we thinking that software got error in somewhere.

Sorry, I didn't see this comment until today... Great idea.. We need to figure out how much voltage and current this is putting out to charge the key... I don't have the tools to check some of that, but I will hookup a slot and a CAS and see if I can figure out what it is putting out.. Hi do you know anything about nissan xtrail trying to match replacement ecu but need to know if I can use BCM module to get the replacement ecu matched to the car this xtrail diddnt come with an ECU?
I have had more issues with Nissans, than any other car make... To reprogram a PCM, you need NERS, and then you need an update, they charge you $260.00 for NERS, and the updates are about $40.00.. And your replacement PCM has to be identical to the one that came out of the car... I had NERS for a year, tried to program 18 vehicles, half were PCM's and half were TCM's... I was successful on 1, yes, 1... I have dealt with there tech support, who were great people, but there aftermarket support is the worst of any carmaker in the world... The system to find the update for your vehicle is impossible to use, and if you do figure it out, it probably won't like your used PCM... I would find a used PCM from the same model of truck and then program a key to it and see if it starts... Sorry, I hate nissan.... The shops I work for don't even ask me to try anymore... I have filed complaint after complaint with NASTF, and get back, We aren't required to do that...
Because AVDI doesn't list the chip in ABPROG... I read the chip by soldering on and EEPROMING it... Search for the video by Shemek Best on fixing a defective CAS that won't boot... AVDI is great once you are able to talk to the module, but if you can't talk to it, you have to eeprom it to get it to communicate... Great question...
I don't have the londsor... So I don't know... I have AVDI... I have nothing against Londsor, or any other china tool, I have VVDI prog, But, I can tell you that you get what you pay for... The VVDI for BMW won't reflash a CAS3+, and I don't know of anything else except ISTA that will... If you watch the video, you will see where I use the online BMW programming with AVDI, if londsor or r270 has a server you can log into and use it to flash the data back to the CAS correctly, then you will have no issues...

Usually a day, I woke up one morning and decided I wanted to flash modules... By five that afternoon I was an expert... Just kidding... I have been working on cars for about 45 years, I got into the electronics of cars back in the 80's when GM went to the electronic feedback carbs... I was just like everyone else at the time, hated fuel injection, electronic ignition, and the rest.... But when you figure out how the systems work, and realize how if you tweak the info the computers get from the sensors you can make more power, it starts getting fun... If you can, go to a library or search online for old books about bosch engine systems... When you can understand how the computer feeds power to the sensors, and then recieves data back from the sensors, and then acts on that data, you have a good chance at figuring out what is wrong.... For example, a car won't start, it cranks, but won't fire... what sensor does the computer get the data to fire off the sparkplugs and injectors??? usually the crank sensor or the cam sensor.. Next, does the sensor have power?, do the wires from the sensor to the computer have conectivity? Once you have a general knowledge of how the system works, you can troubleshoot... As a guy I worked with when I was in my 20's told me, Kid, the majig is in the cards, if the wires connecting them together are good, then the problem is the cards... Good luck...
Not sure on that one... The last one I did, I had to remove the chip and use a different reader... Mine is called a top programmer.. The DME was basicly a MS43.. Good luck..
not understanding?? wiring diagram for what?? reading the data with VVDI prog? thats in the program.. for talking to the CAS?, I would buy a cable, in fact Shemek Best makes a great interface.. or you can get a cable from a VVDI supplier.. The shop was trying to upgrade the DME (engine computer) and when it tried upgrading the CAS, it did what you see in the video... I would call around to your local locksmiths and see if any of them are doing keys for BMW's... If they have AVDI, they should be able to help you...
I keep trying to make a video showing how this is wired... But it seems lately I am lucky if I get time to go to the bathroom.... I will post a vid soon...

Hello I’m from India and I have a 2011 bmw 320d (E90) I’m facing the issue of CAS module being locked in every 2 days then I have to run with the key and the module to my nearest Electricain who has tools , he resets the CAS module by connecting it to Auto hex and gives me and when I install it in the car the car starts perfect with 0 error codes and runs perfect and when I park it in the night and start the car next morning there is no crank no lights in instrument cluster just one message on I drive which says ( ENGINE START FAULT , ENGINE CANNOT START IF IT IS SWITCHED OFF ) then again I have to take the CAS module to the guy who resets it , I’ve even changed the battery to a new 100amp and registered the battery even changed the CAS module still facing this issue , if anyone knows what to do plz tell me
WOW, sorry If I butchered your name.... But your videos are awesome... We have started using ACDP to make keys for BMW's, it is working great... Thank you again for your videos, was able to fix a few of these now...
Tim Tracy have you got a video coming of that ACDP?Normally I used BMW Explorer and the brain.exe as AVDI let me down so many times and their recent politics....
@@ShemekBest Yes, I have made a couple... It is a pain to setup, but once it is setup, it really is easy to use... When you setup the ACDP, you talk to it via bluetooth, tell it which wifi you are on, then the acdp talks to the acdp server, and your phone or tablet or computer is a client to the server.... your tablet tells the server what to do, and the server tells the acdp unit what to do... crazy, but it works...
I sorted my bmw e90 all I need is the flash dump files to complete the cas3+ if its not a problem can you please send me the dump file it would realy help alot please sir.
I sent the flash and the eprom the used CAS3+ module that I used in this video to your email you posted below about 19 hours ago... Did you not get it?
@@nkhan7804 OK, so you re having issues with the FRM... I usually grab ISTA and try that...$40.00 for a day pass at BMW is cheaper than towing it to dealer..
I don't have a video where I built the simulator.. I sat down with a schematic and wired it up.. You can buy a setup from shemek Best that will do the same things..
Had Abrites killed cas3+ via online downgrade, got eeprom fixed by xplorer. Thereafter no more obd on cas3+, bench only. AND by the way, corrupted eeprom file had the correct F90, when the working eeprom all FF FF FF under F90. So there is more to it..
Yes there is... we have seen the flash where half of it was missing, also seen the eprom screwed up.. But the lock bits are one of the more common things we see, I usually compare the flash to a known good flash, and also the eprom to a similar known good eprom file... Just remember, you have to write the flash, then the eprom, if you do the oposite, it doesn't seem to want to work.... Good luck... PS, the F090 is different for different CAS levels... this was a CAS3, ALSO, I have given up doing CAS3+ in the car, unless I have a wired ethernet connection and a lot of extra time... I usually pull the module and use ACDP.. No solder, no mess..
It worked fine... When you repair the flash, and change the bytes in the eeprom, the ISN from the CAS is still in there... The CAS already had a programmed key, the ISTA program actually deleted about half of the flash... Why would you say it didn't work??? I just did another last night, a 2009 5 series that had the same problem... The shop tried to update the DME because there was a TSB on the 02 sensor, when ISTA makes a measures plan, it starts with the CAS and then moves onto the footwell module and then to the other modules.. we have seen 6 or more in the last couple of months that ISTA has gotten halfway thru updating the CAS and then, boom, can't go any further... after that, the CAS won't do anything... When you scan the car, the CAS has ???? for a part number, if you can even talk to the CAS... I will post another video showing how that simulator is wired and the latest CAS module that was briked by ISTA... Do you have a video showing how this doesn't work? Programming a key to one of these is a little different, especially if it is AKL, in that situation, we don't have to reload and then fix the flash, we downgrade the CAS, then make a key to position 8, then turn on the CAS, then when the CAS is on, which sends a keep alive signal to the DME, we read the DME's ISN, then write that to the CAS, then encrypt it, then write the encrypted ISN to the CAS, then sync CAS to DME.... I would love to see a video you have made...
It also depends on where in the US you are from... down south its, melt them things together, east coast it's, hit it with the frigging heat already.... and if you go way north up to canuck land, it's melt em, ehh??
Thank you. I restored my cas3 module. I used ACDP and the process was a little different but in the end the car was perfect without even needing to program the CAS because ACDP prepped a eeprom file with the DME ISN and the VIN etc.
I love my ACDP.... it has been working flawlessly....
@@timtracy9442yes besides these ECUs that provide only 4 digits ISN such as E70 nd E63
That simulator is awesome!!
thank you for giving me a big knowledge
This is beyond mechanic work this is software engineering stuff. I’m an electronic technician and I don’t even grasp all these complex digital stuff
Thank you your your and inspiration!!👍🏽👍🏽
question about the editing software - looks like you use arbrites, when I looked them up it is EXPENSIVE...
Hey Tim good day I'm Anslem could you possible tell me what software are you using to do the programming thanks 👍
WinKFP - 5.3.1
EDIABAS - 7.3.0
SP-DATEN - 3.59.0.600 AKA V59
Also make sure you’re running it on a 32 bit operating system.
I’ve been running this setup for 2 years with windows 7 32 bit running in a VM on a MacBook.
any chance you give the heads up on what you to create the simulator you are using I need to build one for mini cas 3 module

Can you tell me how you did the set up to do it on the bench?
Very owsome video big guy ..can you please check somewhere in your old saved videos I need some bench connections on a bmw e90 cas 2 I'm using an autel im508 and m still a Newby on this platform
never had to solder on to a CAS2.. Usually any of the programmers will do that via OBD2..
@@timtracy9442 ok mate thank you for your answer

Where can I get training for learning how to read and program modules
Did the key work? can you please post another video about key programming for the same car

Hit go and get comfy.
wow wish you where my neighbor I been trying for two weeks now to clone a mini DME and synchronize it and have no luck I am a newby to this stuff
I guess at this point would I better of money wise to just buy a new cas and have it programed to the car instead of risking taking it someone who may or may not know how to fix the existing one?

i have a question regarding last part about key not being recognised, what was it in the end? . i'm in the same situation now hence my quest finding possible solutions. mini 2006, cas3. programmed a new key (original one was not recognised either) and car does not recognise it (shows the same key symbol like yours) although if i go into cas module i can see it. cas module shows no faults. i've ran out of ideas..

I sent my cas to programming and now switch does open to the first position but not the second. What do you recommend? Do you think the problem is still my cas?
I would say yes, your CAS has corrupt data.... I would find a CAS with same part number and read data(eprom and Flash) and compare the data...

@@timtracy9442 any chance you can email me how you wired up all those things together? i have all those parts and spare cas modules, just having little issues getting it all connected, i must have something off in my wiring.
@@timtracy9442 this is a must have. i was at the junkyard last week they had an all you can carry event, i should of grabbed everything for this setup
@@lakelandcarkeys Basicly it's the cluster, cluster plug, cas plug and an OBD plug.. and I looked at a schematic and hooked them all together... The biggest issue is that you can't have a DME on the same CAN bus that you have the CAS on.. you have to have a gateway to seperate the cas and the DME..
Thanks alot for all your help and support you realy help me out alot. 👍👍👍
Do you do CAS or ECU or GSW program/flash repair, how to contact you?
I used Abrites and VVDI prog..
Hi why did you swop to vvdi and not use avdi to read and right as im new to this and lm want to learn whats best cheers
Hi tim I have problem with bmw e90 2009 it was parked for very long time now the key doesn't swing the starter only start when touch wire to starter
you need to scan the car with a good scan tool... it could be anything...
Hi after writing the eprom and flash data into my cas3 from a replacement cas3 what's the next step cos I have the lonsdot programmer will it work?
I don't have the londsor... So I don't know... I have AVDI... I have nothing against Londsor, or any other china tool, I have VVDI prog, But, I can tell you that you get what you pay for... The VVDI for BMW won't reflash a CAS3+, and I don't know of anything else except ISTA that will... If you watch the video, you will see where I use the online BMW programming with AVDI, if londsor or r270 has a server you can log into and use it to flash the data back to the CAS correctly, then you will have no issues...
@Tim Tracy Where can I purchase that BMW Test Bench, or If its customer, How do I build it?
I buit that to take to locksmith shows to explain how AVDI works... I really need to make a video of what's in it... It's just a CAs and a cluster... hooked up to an OBD2 plug... TSA loves it when you pack it in your luggage..

Hi I need to do cas3+ swap cos I can't read the flash and the eprom how do i reprogramme the new cas3+ to work with my bmw e90 2012?
Find the exact same CAS module, read the eeprom and Flash with vvdi prog, then put CAS in car, make a key for it, once the key is turning on the cluster and sending a keep alive signal to the DME, read ISN from DME, write this ISN to the CAS, then encrypt it, then sync CAS to DME..
Mr Tim I need your help with installing the ak90 I have a problem I can't make it work with my 2 different laptops Windows 7 Professional and Window XP how much you would charge me to help me out to install it through TeamViewer please let me know
What are you having issues with? Copy the file folder on CD, move to C drive, the biggest issue I had was with finding correct driver...
How long does it take to learn this stuff? And car coding in general
Okay thank you so much✌
Hi.can bmw 320d 2002 landrover bosch ecu 0281010811 be cloned useing vvdiprog read & write the immo eprom chip?
Not sure on that one... The last one I did, I had to remove the chip and use a different reader... Mine is called a top programmer.. The DME was basicly a MS43.. Good luck..
can you help with the wiring diagran for this setup
not understanding?? wiring diagram for what?? reading the data with VVDI prog? thats in the program.. for talking to the CAS?, I would buy a cable, in fact Shemek Best makes a great interface.. or you can get a cable from a VVDI supplier.. As for the simulator, I got a bunch of plugs from the wrecking yard and wired them together, used all data to find the wiring diagrams.. A lot easier to buy a cable..

Seeing as you explained it soooo well, I would say one million dollars..... What does, it crashes and does not start, mean???? I think you might want to find a mechanic to look at this... If the steering only unlocks when you erase the trouble codes it has stored, maybe you have a defective steering lock... Or maybe the CAS module has corupt data.... @@cobraralph That is not uncommon... What happens is they hook the car up to the diagnostic tester (ISTA) and when ISTA looks at the car, it formulates a measures plan (plan of what fixes the car needs) when the tech runs the plan, the first module it updates software on is the CAS... when it fails on the CAS, it errors out and stops the plan from advancing... What year and model is your car? We have seen the 3 series 08-10 and the 5 series 07-10 having an issue with ISTA blanking the flash of the CAS... That is what happened on the CAS in this video... Can you please send me the video to build the simulator please. Thank you
I don't have a video where I built the simulator..
Tim Tracy right, ACDP seem to work well
YOU DID NOT SYNC ISN BETWEEN DME AND CAS 3 THIS IS WHY IT DID NOT WORK
It worked fine...
If you can hold me to install it through TeamViewer I will pay for your time let me know please
did you get the ak90 software installed?
