    Pixel was always known for their cameras on the Android side of things, glad to see that's still true!

    I can't say I'm surprised. When it comes to photos, Pixels have been my favorite for a while. It's why it's been very tempting to swap out my Pixel Fold for a Z Fold 5 and S23 Ultra for a Pixel 8 Pro.

    #teampixel Also, MKBHD is the ultimate tech personality, i think discussing his content is great. Great to hear it yours and others opinions on this camera test.

    I am not surprised by the Pixel Fold in near the top. The pictures I took over the holidays came out the best I have every had using a mobile device. Everyone that saw the photos said they were awesome. I ain't that good at taking pictures and the Pixel Fold made me out a rock star this holiday. Thanks for this video, VERY interesting outcomes when people are not aware of the phone that took the picture.

    As a very happy one plus open owner i have said a load of times these cameras are very underrated and a lot of people diss them. Personally i get some very clear and detailed pics so im really not surprised that its up there competing very respectfully with the pixels 👍

    Loved this video. It makes me feel better about my decision to buy the Pixel 8 Pro. I still would love to have the Pixel Fold or the OnePlus Open. Maybe some day.

    i watched a few reviews for the pixel 7a and 8 (pro) and when i look back at how they rated the pictures it's kinda funny: as "bad for flagship phone", "not as good as the s23 or the iPhone". not to forget the "it's a good (or ok) camera for a midrange device" line. and ofc they showed them to compare where u could clearly see that they either where shaking the device heavily or focussed something else on "purpose", and when it did a good shot they had the classic excuse that it's not as vibrant. so i tried couple of phones from friends and family (even coworker), let took pictures of me and sent it over to my old phone, decided the pixel 7 was the best looking one & honor (idk which exact model) being close next so I bought the 8 pro due to other features honor couldnt offer, didn't regret it. best phone i got so far since the huawei. hope the new kernel / android 15 fixes the other minor issues.

    Just took the test for normal pictures, my number 1 was the Pixel Fold with 10 wins and zero losses, 2nd was the Oneplus 11 and 3rd was the Moto Razr Plus. Actually looking thru the statistics the Pixel Fold was the only one that won every time, so I guess I did choose well on my daily driver with it being the Pixel Fold.

    I have the pixel 8 pro and can confirm that its photography is absolutely beautiful. I took a picture of the moon tonight and can legit see craters and everything.

    Very important wording, this are favorite to the people but not the better photo

    • @scaryifliteral

      You cannot objectively determine which photo is better, all there ever can be is favorites.

      @@scaryifliteral ohh trust me, I'm not a tech creator or something, but last year pixel 6a won, and I had the opportunity to test a pixel 6a and a iPhone 13 pro, 13 pro blew away pixel in so many categories, a medium light environment on 6a was all noise all around corners and many more things, and overall 13 pro just took better photos than 6a, so may be that people like pixel photos more but if you have the 2 phones in your hands to see the photos the story would be different

    • @scaryifliteral

      You're still talking as though you can simply say which photo *is* better and that your declaration will be true for everyone when in reality, this is subjective preference. You saying you had both phones and preferred the photos from the iPhone only has bearing on the question "which one do you prefer." When polled like MKBHD did here, people largely prefer the Pixel's photos. Is that just the preference of thousands and thousands of people? Of course. That's all there ever can be. There's no "right" answer.
      Any rubric you choose to judge the photos is subjective. They all exist on a spectrum and there's no *correct* spot to say "this is the best." All there is is preference. You might like more noise than me, I might like my photos a bit underexposed compared to you. No one is wrong.

    Pixels have the best camera. They need to focus more on video though.

    This reminds me of a video I watched several years ago, when everyone was clamouring for the iPhone 7. A guy went around with the iPhone 6 and had random people check it out. They couldn't even tell it was the exact phone mist carried in their pocket. It is a huge bias that becomes subconscious.

  • @jebaker2
    @jebaker2 8 месяцев назад +2

    This stuff happens every year... I can't help but wonder if it's phone bias or just the luck of a specific shot.

    • @lightningjack27

      You obviously didn't watch the full MKBHD video, bias and luck can't and don't come into it.

    I wish there was a hgh-end SLR or something to compare to. Do we like it because it looks good or because it shows reality.

    It seems Sony got screwed in the portrait competition. Their photo included much much more of the white background which combined with the white shirt caused mayhem. Not that I expected they'd enter the top 5 had this not been the case but still, not exactly a one on one comparison.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  8 месяцев назад +2

      In the official video, they talk about that particular shot. They say that they tried to take it multiple times and it just kept coming out like that no matter what they did lol

    Just curious if the Pixel photos were taken in online or offline mode. We know that the photos on Pixel phones are processed using Google servers. This is like taking a photo on aa regular phone and running it through the auto fix mode of a photo editor.

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  8 месяцев назад +4

      The only time Pixel phones process photos in an online data center is when you are using something like magic editor. Just taking a photo does not do anything like that. It's processed on the phone like any other phone camera.

    • @crosswhite17
      @crosswhite17 8 месяцев назад

      @@scaryifliteralAre you sure? I thought it had been stated that the reason some Pixel photos took so long to process because the processing was done off the phone?

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  8 месяцев назад +4

      I am positive. Progressing also takes no longer than it does on any other phone I have.

    When are we going to be honest about these camera test! Pixel has AI generated pictures that clean up not so good pictures. The iPhone takes the best pictures period along with videos. I am a Samsung guy and iPhone just gets the job done!

    • @scaryifliteral
      @scaryifliteral  8 месяцев назад +12

      All phones used AI to enhance photos, but the only time Pixels are literally generating new data to enhance things is if you're using something like magic editor. You can take a photo on airplane mode so no data can be uploaded and it'll look exactly the same. You're badly misinformed on how mobile photography works.
      You also liked your own comment to make it seem like someone agreed with you lol.
