    Congratulations for reaction !!!
I'm 56 years old and I've been a professional musician for 40 years.
Then came a girl of just 14 years old who moves me and makes me cry. For me, Angelina is the best singer of the last years ... in fact, since she was 7 years old, she was amazing.
Angelina is technically perfect ... she has all the vocal resources and a unique and rare voice. But it's not just about being the incredible singer that she is ... it's much more than that ... it's the emotion that she manages to convey to those who listen to her. I don't see any other singer with such an ability to interpret. When this girl opens her mouth to sing, it hits everyone, from the first to the last musical note. As if all that vocal quality was not enough, despite being very young, she behaves like a real lady ... she has important qualities, is humble and simple ... sings barefoot, the result of a very beautiful story. flowers in her hair, clothes in the classic style. .. anyway ... Angelina has the look and dignity of a true QUEEN. All of these things together make Angelina's image very beautiful. Angelina Jordan is a music genius. I am sorry for the people who disagree with me ... but that is my modest opinion.

397edu DICAS DE VIOLÃO I am nearing 79 and grew up with big band music. Rosemary Cluny, Dina Shore, Von Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Etta James and so many more. Then through the 50’s, 60’s etc. There has been no one ever that consistently performs with the emotions emoted by Angelina. There has been many great artists. Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand etc. If you listen to Angelina’s “Song For A” and then her cover of Etta James “ Id Rather Go Blind “ and realize she can do all in between you come to realize there is no artist at any time that could do this. Add in her demeanor and her emphatic hart you end up with an artist that has not existed previously. The most incredible part is that she knows who she is and why she is here and has known since she was twelve. We will see much more from this human than just songs.

In his heart and in his world, Elvis was first and foremost a believer, a gospel singer.
He sings the gospel of Jesus Christ here:
Knock and the door shall be opened,
    Seek and you will find,
Ask and you will be given
the key to this heart of mine.
The beauty of this cover is that Angelina is also a believer and that she likes singing gospel songs, like in Something Got A Hold On Me with a choir and in some of her Christmas songs.
What a role model she is for our youth!

That gorgeous lower register opens up scores of songs that other pro female vocalists can only listen to wistfully and never sing.

FYI The surprise here is that Engelbert was not his real name. Born Arnold George Dorsey (later simplified to the stage name Gerry Dorsey) in Chennai, India in 1936, in an attempt to reinvent himself, he followed the advice of his new manager, who also oversaw fellow singer Tom Jones. His manager changed his name to Engelbert Humperdinck, the same name as the late 19th century German composer and creator of the opera Hansel and Gretel. As you said, the song was first performed by Jim Reeves (country singer) in 1962, and later covered by Elvis in 1977. Five months later he was dead. Angelina is a big fan of Elvis, and she has covered him 6 times that I know of. Her version of this song is just Fantastic!! The familiar phrase you are referring to---"knock and ......."---is from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in the Book of Mathew 5-7. Great reaction Mace! 😊💕

Thanks so much for reacting to this song. I especially appreciate that you shared information about the original performer of the song and the two men who wrote it, Ray Winkler and John Hathcock (John was my father).
I was surprised to hear you call "WTMW" something I have never heard it called -- a jazz standard! As cool as that sounds, it's actually a sub-genre of country called the Nashville sound which basically originated with Jim Reeves in the late 1950s. At least, the term was first used in reference to him. The Nashville sound was country music's effort to compete with the rising popularity of rock/pop music. Pasty Cline, Marty Robbins, Eddy Arnold and Roger Miller are a few perfomers I'd call purveyors of the Nashville sound --smoother vocals, less fiddle and steel guitar.
And where did this child get that voice?? It's almost lower than alto; I don't know what to call it. She reminds me of opera prodigy Charlotte Church, born with a vocal ability that typically takes 20 years to develop. Amazing!
Thanks again for featuring the song on your show.
