Hi. 4th generation drugs are now emerging! I have not covered it in the video but the first step is genetic testing of the tumor or blood and then patient can get one of a number of different treatment options. Future is very bright for EGFR+ lung cancer.

Head and neck cancer is usually a different kind of EGFR than lung cancer. Osimertinib is generally not used in head and neck cancer

Blood is possible but more expensive and less accurate than tumor tissue.

Tablets can control it well by themselves but you can add other therapies for even better outcome

My father was Egfr exon 21 + patient( poorly differentiated carcinoma). Post osimertinib as 1st line, he survived only 8 months...after 5 th month disease progression took place and before ngs test results arrived, he left us.. finally he hd malignant pericardial effusion...TMH Mumbai couldn't detect disease progression 😢

@@arpanakumari974 at the start of Osimertinib his vital health parameters were good. Till 3 months his conditions improved a lot, however, after that disease progression started and he left after 8 months post osimertinib.
