also a point to note that all platforms like (RUclips, soundcloud, spotify etc) have different loudness requirments and if ur song peaks above those requirement, there is a good chance your song will get limited. Its always better to adjust the loudness beforehand. and so remember to have different masters accordingly.

And and and make sure that the track is on a suitable LUFS that fits best for releases on different platform. Becuz some platform compress you track to reach their standard LUFS rate, which can make you track sound bad.

Wouldn't it affect the transients too much? I came across perspectives of some established mastering engineers and they mentioned we shouldn't have it on.
yes brother if you use an imager on the master with having panned vox in the bg it will definitely increase the width of the vocals you can go with slight width on low mids and compensate with reducing the width on the high mids otherwise excessive use will cause phase issues. now for the second question using true peak limiting is completely subjective as if your mix has transients that are not compressed properly and are peaking a lot then you should go with true peak limiting otherwise with a well compressed mix i dont think that you need that.
