Nice ! Can't wait for your coverage of canjam ! Couldn't make it this year but seeing the videos that are coming out it looked so nice ! Really hope I'll be there next year
The Vison Ears VE-X blew me away for its bass (and pretty much everything else) and the Kinera Loki did the same for me in the treble department. Stars of the show for me. Ended up buying a Truthear Zero and Blessing 3 + some new Dekoni suede pads for my HD600. A good haul, all in all.
Well done. Canjams are a lot of fun and I'd like to get to one again some day. This just makes me want to go spend money I don't have though. Yes please I need one of each.
I made my own dac years ago from 100€ circuit borad that name I can't remember anymore. Built it in a hard candy metallic box. Worked like a gem for many many years, but I can't find it from anywhere. Hidden somewhere..
It was great getting to meet you (although briefly) at canjam this past weekend. I (along with 50% of the patrons) was most impressed by the Mass-Kobo amplifiers. They were truly mind blowing though at $17k that would be expected. I was fairly impressed by the modhouse tungsten but I couldn't find a single amplifier that I thought was "doing it justice". The holo audio stack also blew me away, it was so incisive and exacting, It made me think twice about getting one. I also thought the boulder 812 Dac/Amp as well as the Weiss Dac 502 were very impressive, but completely eclipsed by the Holo Bliss and the Mass Kobo amps. I was a bit disappointed by the Viva 845 amp, I had heard their integrated amps before and was expecting "more of that" from their headphone amp. I was very disappointed by the Wa23, as it just came off as bloated sounded, while I was incredibly impressed by the WA33. It is a shame that the WA33 doesn't have the same form factor as the WA23, that is a truly beautiful amp. I wasn't a big fan of any of the DCS dacs, this was always the case with me (possibly just my personal bias as well), but each time when I hear what others describe as a "full-bodied" sound, to me it is just dull. Finally towards the end of Day 2 I was able to listen to the Warwick aperio, and let me say, that headphone makes me want to sell literally everything and buy that. It is such an impressive package.
@@DirectorsGarage Agree, not sure why you need to cut those to go 3 days in others, unless it is pushback from exhibitors indicating how much they are willing to spend. I assume 1 more day at NYC costs as much, if not more than 2 days in Dallas.
Had you already listened to the HE1? I already booked my session with it at the Dallas Canjam. Can’t wait. Never really thought id get to listen to it.
Yes, I heard it at the first CanJam I went to. Amazing product. I haven't revisited it because it's so limited in time slots, I'd hate to take valuable listening time away from another head-fi enthusiast. It's a must-listen if you haven't-- and you have every right to be excited! Enjoy! Thanks for watching
I think at some point you should re-buy the Sultan. That iem seems to have stuck with you long after you've sold it. It seems like it was just the perfect iem for you. There's no sense it not having it.
The Aperio was bleh.. it was ok.. felt a little thin/veiled, but worst of all is my review is nil because they wouldn't let you play any music that wasn't pre selected. No Wifi. boo! If you had a cable to attach to your phone sure, but I didn't. Either way it was underwhelming for the price.
Michael, regarding yesterday's livestream, you mentioned you would be VEGETARIAN, if not for your cheese addiction. You are urged to become VEGAN, since carnism (the destructive ideology that supports the use and consumption of animal products, especially for “food”) is arguably the foremost existential crisis. If you were to have a panel at Can Jam, I'd bet it would be a hit.🎉

Very fun Video, thank you!
The Woo 23 is such a beautiful amp.

Good seeing you!
You missed the best of show. Modhouse Tungsten and Mass Kobo 465. That 465 is a true standout, literally everything sounds its best on that amp.
I know! Ryan is gonna kill me! I wish I had a full 2 days to devote to CanJam.
17:15 That's meeee! 🙂
Great to hear your thoughts on everything you heard here. I was there, I'm not sure how I didn't see you! Next year maybe
Great video - entertaining as always. Wanted to hear your impressions of the Modhouse Tungsten but looks like you missed it. 😓
I know! Ryan is gonna kill me! Thank you for watching!
Wish I saw you there. I hope they go to the 3 day format they are discussing for NYC and SoCal.
I hear it's a real thing, but it will mean they're cutting CanJams in Chicago and Texas. I hate to see the middle of the country cut out of the fun.

You look pretty good with the hat
Anything to cover the receding hairline! LOL. Thanks, Steve!
What ??? No Austrian Audio flagship ??? Did you miss it ???
Anyway thanks for the report ;-)

Agree! There is a plan afoot... Thanks for watching!
You're getting funnier 🤞🏻😀

disabled vet likes your show!
Awesome, Michael! Thank you for your service.
