I made the choice a year ago to not buy the game and live vicariously through content creators. The game is too expensive to start with, then you've got to pay for PSN/Live, then just to compete you've got to pay for packs. It's predatory behavior from EA and I would stand by anyone boycotting the game
been doing that since fifa16. Knew as a teen that this game only cared about the money and not the community. Sucks to see what has happened lately but it was bound to happen eventually.
I have tried to do the same but keep buying it anyway lol
I missed last year and it was the best year of my life mentally.. My mate convinced me to get this one to play friendlies together and then stopped buying EA Play so I kinda got stuck playing this year.. I'll definitely not be buying another EA game in future
Also wanna add; I been playing Fifa since I was about 3 years old, started with Fifa 98 and bought every single year since.. One of my favourite series of games so it hurts to quit but the game is such a piss take now that I can't give them another chance

think this might make pack n play more enjoyable. in fifa 21 was my favorite one where u just opened like 5 7.5k packs, 3 25k pack, 2 50k pack and 1 100k pack and then maybe a guaranteed tots pack or icon pick. like having good and different players but also even crappy golds are funny, the guests are the content not the gameplay

Up until now I was torn on where I stood about this. I think you explained every issue perfectly and convinced me this is a real issue. Granted, I usually just play squad battles and grind objectives, do sbc’s, and see if I can pull anything. I don’t play champs or rivals, so those issues never confronted me. I decided not to buy any fc points this year, and it makes me feel more accomplished knowing I didn’t spend anything apart from buying the game itself
at the very least i just want a gamemode i can repeatedly play to grind rewards like old divisions back in the day

Its just that right now i open up the game and either do my 7 wins for div rivals or champs and basically dont do any gameplay 4/7 days of the week its all menus
Bro, they fixed player picks odds fast, but they still didn't fix the player pic selection, it's harder to see which one we are selecting still 😂😂
the companion app often functions better than the actual game. i do alot of my SBCs on it because it's way faster. they should promote the app team the menu team
Disagree because my app starts to not load players after I open one pack and have to restart it, still faster for small sbcs but for the most part more annoying

The state of the game is just sad, used to be so excited to just play the game with some of my favourite players, but now that's not possible. Not even mentioning the fact that tons of SBCs which would have been added in the past have just been shifted into the store.
You don’t need to keep opening packs for pack and play just change the series name to something like Spin the Wheel. Just make a wheel that has like 15 leagues (+icons) and a second wheel with the numbers 1-20. If the first wheel spins a league that doesn’t have many special cards then they are allowed to pick any player from that league and if it spins a big league like the Premier League then spin the second wheel of 1-20 and they can choose a player from the team that is currently sitting in that position in the league. Not all leagues have 20 clubs so if it lands on something like 20 for the Bundesliga then just spin again. And due to how it would be hard to get chemistry with this new system just play all games on max chemistry. But I would 100% support you content creators if you decide to remove discards at the end of the games if it means you’ll save coins for more videos and stop purchasing FC points. If you’ll do want a punishment for the loser then I think something like a punishment tweet or something creative like that would be okay.

Weird one for me because this is literally the first fifa I’ve played since fifa 15, I don’t know about the FIFA’s in between but wow it’s horrendous I don’t think I touched anything but pro clubs after November
The fact this company only changes things in game when it affects their money grabbing fingers would suggest that if you did that in real life by not buying points then they would change something. It’s worth it because you get absolutely no return from spending money on this game

I’ve got 700+ hours on ea fc 24. And 2 weeks ago finally came to the decision to get off the game. 0 money spent, and a team in January better than the end of every other previous fifa.
After coping with the horrible gameplay for this long, I finally came to the decision to hang it up. Pairing it up aswell with all of the mistakes from ea, It finally all just hit me and that I just had no more will to play, no more passion, no more fun…
Now after 2 weeks life’s been great, a lot more calmer evenings 😂 and haven’t raged at / about anything.
I hope all these things happening now can lead to a better game for us to be able to passionately play. No more singular way of playing with 0 freedom, only using probably 20 different players which fit into the ‘meta’ category, vs 4-3-2-1 every single game, and picking midfielder/attacker while letting AI defend for you…
I miss the times where gameplay was actually skilled related. Inputing multiple different skills, instead of only seeing german crosses, player locks, step over speed glitches, l1+r1 dribble cancel passes, OP corner glitches…

The argument for the added time, its the same as real life. It always has and always will be a MINIMUM of X added minutes.
So long as the ball stays in the attacking 3rd of the pitch, in control by the attacking team, the game will continue until it no longer is. It's up to the defending team to win and clear the ball.
As for set pieces, the game will grant 1 attacking set piece after the minimum minutes have elapsed, whether this is a corner, free kick, or penalty.
Do I like this system? No, but I understand why it exists, as we would be more annoyed getting to the edge of the box at 93/92 minutes and the ref stopping the active attack and just ending the match
I have definitely sat through at least 3 corners after the full amount of time
@ItsItsJames I've seen at most 2, mainly due to the first being taken right as the added time should be up.
Regardless, good to see you talking about the issues with the game and willing to make a stand in some way, despite it being directly opposing your main content. Wish some other content creators were as open minded.

But this year, after the extra time runs out, the ref only allows 1 corner. If a second occurs, he blows the full time whistle. Havent experienced otherwise this year, whether it's me playing or somebody streaming.
But not disagreeing that this game is a disgrace, all in all.

I agree with you James, I watch Pack n Play because (not just because i love your content) but also its the only time I see the best players get packed. For people like me who don't play to win, the pack luck is horrendous

This is the first year since Fifa 95 that I haven't got the game. Nothing will change until it hits there bottom line. Im also an F1 fan and EA have ruined the F1games since they bought Codemasters.
I think FIFA held EA back with store packs because since EA 24 the pack are getting out of hand. I played FIFA since the very first one never missed a year

I stopped playing fifa back in 2019 came back last year for fifa23 and I have not bought ant fc points I still have a very good team and over 1 mill coins in my club and I don't even play for multiple hours each day
Good videos with some good points...me personally tho, I'd like for you to find a different concept of pack and play, where u didn't go to the store at all, ignore completely....yes your not buying points but your still advertising the store but still a step in the right direction!
EA's code must be an absolute mess. You mentioned it and yeah, it's crazy how when they make a change to one aspect, it's like two aspects that are completely unrelated become buggy. EA is an absolute mess and a joke

I have been wondering for some time, and I am fairly new to the game (started with 23), but why is EA not shutting down the coindealers? - Cause in my mind it goes like this. We cry about cheaters, and some of the cheaters are coins bots, or what you like to call them, and then at the aame time we have creators advertising for coindealers. makes no sense in my head lol. Again. I am new.... and old, so bear with me. On the other hand, you have EA who can't be happy about the coindealers, yet they seem to do nothing about it? I wonder why that is? Maybe they cut a deal with the dealers?
Anyways. Keep it up. One small step in the right direction is infinite better than no step at all.

Games these days are made so its "fair" and everyone gets their turn to win, this way even the bad players still have a chance to win. It would be nice if there was a competitive game where its actual fair so the better player wins.
I find it interesting that content creators are complaining about the state of the game yet the reason people all use the same formations and players is because of videos putting out 'META tactics'. CC are also the biggest spenders of real money on the game which in turn encourages the fan base (despite saying not to, young kids want the teams you have access to) and also green lights EA to put prices up and encourage the spending of real money. All I ever see is people complaining in comments on videos about rewards and what you get. No one wants to play the game anymore...its all about what you get. The game used to be about enjoying playing the game.

The amount that EA neglect other game modes apart from UT and they still can’t make UT good and because they put their effort into that no other game modes are good either I just want clubs to always be fun but they even made it worse this year
For all of the reasons discussed and many others, I won't play anymore unless massive changes are made. I've already boycotted and others should do the same until EA displays some measure of integrity. Gameplay sucks and it's all just a money grab. Worst of all - the same thing happened to me as what James described - my account was hacked and players and coins were taken. EA banned me for "coins distribution" and didn't lift a finger to make things right or help. I've got much better things to do with my time and money.

Also, I’m not gonna swear that this is the case, but I’m pretty sure EA sports don’t have as much resources as people think. Yes, EA is a billion dollar company, but EA sports isn’t well funded in the grand scheme of things. Not to defend them for the horrible mistakes or bugs, just important to separate EA from EA sports

This is the 1st year since i think 2019 that i didnt get the game on release. I only just got it because it was on sale for 12 bucks, the gameplay itself is horrible and im seriously considering going over to pro evo and learning how to play that. Because as bad as it looks, the game plays so much cleaner and feels smoother and more realistic than fifa

Evo was a smart idea, it just turned out to shiet imo. Everyone going for the meta evo. I was looking forward to evo the players from favorite team wich include only bronze/silver players, and i have had one player that i could use for 1 month because he fit the power curve of the rest of the game. Rest of the players i have evo and wait for a new evo to put them in but my 82 player that is shiet got 5 defending to much to get in to a new evo. I dont expect my players to be as good as tots but atleast better then a starter team, wich many isnt.
I’m the exact same I’m doing my nation and club Pnp and it’s annoying because half the evos my players don’t fit and then everyone else is putting meta evos that are boring

I don’t see the logic in that, menu does not even have to be discussed: it has to be good. Gameplay is the worst ever, every single player reacts 2 seconds after you move them. This year they made it as amateurs, what a shame.
of course the packs are the problem, but your point about paying to do more evos is a little misguided tbh - I don’t think supplementing packs for evos and still having to pay money, when you’ve already spent upwards of 50 quid on the game itself is a good idea
His point is you are paying for the convenience of being able to do them quicker, some evos require you to buy them anyways but you can only do one at a time.
If there was an option to pay 200/500 points to add an extra active evo slot loads of people would probably do it

Potential fixes for EAFC UT
1. Make packs only available for purchase with 🪙 earned through playing regular games and Weekend Leagues and additional competitions.
2. Scrap the relegation scheme in all modes so the higher rewards due in div 1 or 2 etc... are not toned down to div 3 and 4 after a reset.
3. Bring in a champions league mode for top 2 divisions on 1 weekend in a month to give people incentive to reach the top.
4. Bring in Europa League mode for any winners of UT draft on 1 weekend in a month to give people incentive to play different modes and a better reward if winning drafts.
5. Bring in a reward for players in div 3-5 unique to those divisions if they qualify for top tier rewards to ensure team improves and closes gap to top divisions.
6. Bring in a reward for players in div 5-10 unique and even more rewarding than div 3-5 if they qualify for top tier rewards to ensure the team improves and the player has a reward that merits time.
7. Start the season as normal when game releases and allow the player to carry team over several series of the game potentially 3-5 years.
8. Slow the power curve down of releasing players every single day or at set times and make players work for better players. Release all challenges like sbcs or obtaining a Ronaldinho/Zidane icon card
To once a month minimum depending on content.
9. June-August every year run an optional world cup mode to play alongside your club team with rewards at end of competition to keep game fresh in the off season. Also side challenges for reward e.g top scorer of the World cup mode in your team you keep for your regular club, or best player with most assists or most booked player in team to add randomness to keep the player guessing and working for an extra player for club.
10. Keep evolutions but enable it as a position modifier and again only available to 1 a month in a position given as normal. So potentially after 11 months you have an evolutions team to keep interest going.
11. Scrap contracts on players altogether and after 3 months pay a wage budget for your teams best 11 rated IGS players if you can't afford the wage your forced to sell a player or two to run clubs at a budget and also to keep player playing games to afford budget.
12. Bring in a loan market with periods not games played e.g loan Trent for 1 week for set prices in relation to rating or IGS.
13. Bring back the league sbcs enabled at div 10 for smaller leagues and all the way to elite for premier league to give player incentive to get to top league.
14. Rework chemistry to amount of games played together as a team rather than club national links. Also means 1 player added at a time will be better and easier than 3-4 players which could reduce chemistry greatly.
15. Scrap Untradable players altogether so every player is worth an amount or discard price to ensure no players are hoarding players to keep for SBCS so transfer market stays true and not dictated by SBC requirement.
16. Don't add VAR to the game.
17. Weekend league format reduced to 15 games.
1-5 wins bronze rewards
6-10 wins silver rewards
11-14 wins gold rewards
15 wins platinum
Multiplier added for division in terms of quality of rewards as explained above, probability of rewards needs more transparency rather than a figure of 85% of chance of obtaining player rated 87+.
18. Champions league/Europa League format of 20 games over a weekend to add and include extra motivation and chance of obtaining special rewards that are standalone and unique to these competitions. E.g champions league TOTW 1 edition of Vini JR .
19. Add cup competition randomly for certain periods with no SBMM with only a certain amount of players allowed to enter the tournaments to show its not all a tiered system.
20. Add a youth cup for silver players only with a reward of evolution players for club again with no SBMM limited to 1 competition a month.
21. Allow full customization and editing of player positioning on pitch in attack and defence and remove depth and width as well as players in box settings and give player full control of their team setups.
22. Add loyalty points for playing a game a day that can be transferred into coins for UT club as an extra way of generating coins over a period of time that can be saved or added to be used at any time.
1 point = 500 coins
5 points =2500 coins
30 points = 15000 coins
Capped at 60 points to use then reset.
Maximum of 1 point per day x 60.
23. Bring in trophy cabinet to show club medals and achievements over the seasons of playing and for added interest in different competitions.
24. Only allow the fifa store to sell cosmetics for the club in terms of kits, sponsors and stadiums to fully customize your UT without any gain or influence in increasing team ratings and shows game in a new light of not Pay to Win.
E.g you want to play in Arsenal kits and Emirates the store costs 3.99 for you to unlock. You want Nike sponsors on stadium 99p. If the game is playable and enjoyable will maximise the will to play game more. If nothing is bought from store you play in customised kits and default stadiums. Same for boots, footballs ,stadium seats and everything else worth value in design.
25. Run open lobbies of No SBMM to join and play easily with no stress to add the experimental side of players and tactics without records being affected and to fine tune setups of team and test players with chemistry levels which differ. As well as no metas being exploited in a more relaxed game environment.
