We stop sleeping to watch the Inter Miami game, even though we know that at 5am or 6am we have to get up to go to work, university, etc.
We did the same in Ghana for Mike Tyson or Azumah Nelson boxing fights 😂😂

I don't recall in any sports that fans go and see one sportsman try and score against their team for the honour of having witnessed that moment and going home to tell everyone about it. Even when Argentina went to Peru to play the qualification games for the next world cup, Peruvian fans had their national team shirt on but it had Messi's name on the back. Opposition fans feel happy when Messi scores against them. It's like going to a concert and waiting for the main act to sing their hits.

Compare the MLS highlights clips, Mess’s game highlights usually have 100x views. Look at the recent match day, 2M views for Miami game vs ~20k for the others. In a word, Messi lifts MLS to a completely new level
Ill be honest. The only reason im watching mls is because of messi mostly. Even suarez and busquets too. But mostly messi.

Messi helps bring attention and relevancy to the MLS. He is by far the biggest footballer that's ever played there, and arguably the biggest foreign athlete that's ever stepped on American soil.
