i've mentioned it on your channel before, but happy my personal favorite value whisky is still under the radar despite being around now for some time with ralfy reviewing it 12 years ago, naked malt formerly called naked grouse. blended malt of highland park, macallan, etc, and finished in first fill sherry casks. a sweet sherry that doesnt overpower the good malt note, 43%, inviting nose, not young and rough, no off-notes, cant complain. sells for $30 in the usa, where the grain blend of macleans nose is $40. if speyburn10 can sell for $30 here, then i refuse to pay any premium for any nas grain
Just wanted to mention that Glen Garioch isn't owned by Pernod Ricard but Suntory Global Spirits, formerly[?]/which owns Beam Suntory which wholly owns Morrison Bowmore Distillers, which in turn owns the scotch distilleries including Bowmore and Auchentoshan.
disagree, old grand dad 114 is half the price of the $50 wild turkey. and at $50 theres lots of barrel proof bourbon such as stagg, 1792, bulleit, ezra brooks, balcones, makers mark, knob creek, weller, and whatever else from local small distillers
it's interesting how that sanskrit script is written like kanji. it's (almost) as if that indian distillery is tryina piggyback off the success of japanese whisky...

Great overview
Macaloney's distillery is local to me! Love their whiskies. Highly recommend the Kildara if you like an Irish style triple distilled whisky.

I agree
Cley is from Rotterdam, Netherlands. It's one of the best Dutch single malt whiskies out there.
finally some USA content haha, I have a few different bottles of JD single barrel BP from trip in USA if you want samples?

Ah true. Thanks for the correction
It’s tough to find a cask strength bourbon cheaper than rare breed in the US. Maybe the market in NZ is different.

@@_fwd_racecar_ i forgot about old grandad. It’s awesome. But in Idaho rare breed is 45, and everything else you mentioned is over 60.

Would love to see you do a collab with @abandonbourbon!!
