Your videos are always so inspiring and helpful for an aspiring children’s books illustrator such as myself! Also your earrings are super cute! Thanks for what you do! 💜💜
Really interesting seeing the process from start to finish. For the extra illustrations for each chapter did you negotiate an extra fee for that seeing as it wasn’t part of the original quoted fee?
Thank you for taking time to make your videos. They are all very thorough and well communicated. I really appreciate that you share key nuggets of information that aspiring illustrators can actually use as steps to achieve our goals. Thank you again 🙏😊
Thanks for this video! It was a really helpful step-by-step for the book cover process. I'm looking to do freelance illustrating book covers so this is a good reference for me!
Thank you very much for showing us the whole process and explaining the time you take to make a book, I always had doubts about it, but this was very helpful, I am starting in this, and I really would like to make a book someday
Thank you so much for sharing the complete process with us, I appreciate every single part of the video. It is valuable content and very helpful. Thank you very much, Anoosha. Much love!
Thank you for this! I’ve been so inspired by your art and I love childrens books and books for older kids . I’m on the journey to also becoming an illustrator for childrens books💕
I love your videos, 🌼they are super helpful!! I’m trying to learn illustration on my own, to hopefully become a children’s book illustrator too. I was so excited that you posted a new video, 😃it’s been so long since the last.
Love your work! Where should someone start when creating a book cover portfolio who hasn’t done an official job yet? Who should those portfolios be sent to?
Anoosha, thank you for sharing your videos about your illustration career. I find them so helpful as I try to break into illustration. I have a question about client feedback. Have you ever experienced difficulty creating what a client wants? Sometimes I worry about not being able to deliver what a client wants - fear of failure on my part maybe...
Sometimes! I find it helpful to try to have a strong communication with the client (a call is better if possible) to really sit down and understand what exactly the client is looking for, and also if necessary, to explain what your limitations are and what you can reasonably create for them so you can find a compromise in the middle (and also staying within the budget if there seems to be too many revisions).
Hi, I also have got 3 months to work on a 32 pages children book in the past and also recently. I though that it was better because I calculate my our rate behind the scenes and if they give me more time, I though that for sure I would be working too much and to long on each drawing (I got adhd and wenn I'm in the zone I forget about time :-/) so that my hourly rate would be way to long :-(
Thanj you so much for this very helpful information! I never knew that 3 months for 32 pages was too short because now I'm working on 35 pages and still not done. It's been 3 months now and I feel bad cause I couldn't finish it sooner :(
Hello Anoosha! thank you for this! I always enjoy your vids. May you also tell us about how you take care of your hand while working as an illustrator? I think this is not talked much about in YT
Super insightful. But do teach or have a course on being a bookcover illustrator. Am currently a book cover designer but more with Images and Graphics, I want to become an illustrator. 😊
Hi Anoosha. I hope you can still see my comment. I really love your works! You're definitely my greatest inspiration. I have a question for the software used. Do you recommend using other software. I did have some experience using both Photoshop and Ai but I'm more familiar with Clip Studio Paint by now. So is it okay if I proceed with that since I don't have Procreate 😭
Thanks Anoosha for such an informative video! May I know what application do you use please? And did only use ipad for the entire process? Lastly, do you mind sharing the fees you charged for this job? If that's too personal, what do you think one should charge to design a book cover? Many thanks x
Yes the timeline is absolutely invaluable thank you so so much! It's good to be able to advocate for ourselves as artists absolutely.

I forgot to mention it, but yes it was paid an additional amount!

Hello. I wanna jump into cover illustration world. How to get job? Should I post arts first or have connection to publishers?
I would say to work on your portfolio first and setting it up with cover illustration samples and then submit to publishers!
