    Awesome review! I love the new setup. Would have love to hear the boost on the solo test though. Can you post something short that will demonstrate the boost?

  •  7 лет назад +5

    i LOVE the dapper series !! really sometimes you just need a minimal setup, and to be honest many muliteffectunits with direct buttons (not up/down) are simply too big for the gigbag and so on and you have to fiddle in menus and this is counterproductive for a product the is for many purposes... at the moment the only competitor for this thing imo is the zoom g3 and g3n (in the price range and gigbag size...

    • @TheOligoclonalBand
      @TheOligoclonalBand 7 лет назад +1

      The Zoom G3 has much more effects and editing possibilities, as far as I know. If you need to dial in your sounds quick, the Dapper seems to be more useful than having to go into the menus of the G3.

    Nice video. Never did use the boost. Is that a gain boost, or a volume boost? Also, given the cheap pedal/cheap guitar, it would have been nice to play a cheaper amp as well. One of the joyo heads, maybe??
    Still eagerly awaiting the Bass Dapper. It's listed, and supposed to be coming.

    Really cool all in one solution!
    I might get the Dapper Mini,...I only wish they would have ditched the Chorus and put a Compressor in it,.....for se Clean stuff 😉
    Amazing work you both,... Thank you!
    Cheers Flo 👌

    Got one a few days ago, the Boost, Chorus and Delay are actually quite ok, not a big fan of it's Distortion though, has to much... breakup?
    Would be interesting to hear how it compares to a Mooer Black Truck

    Would putting an amp preamp in the FX loop work here? You know, plug the Dapper send into amp in, plug amp FX loop into Dapper return, plug Dapper out into amp? Usually, trick like these result in hiss if the power supplies don't have isolated ground, so I'm interested if this is an option.
    One more thing for the FX loop, one could put a volume pedal there to do swells with fully distorted sound instead of gradual saturation like from the volume knob.

    I wish they made the original Dapper in this format with the boost switch and the chorus.
    That would suit me the best. Unless it's possible to use this one for low gain settings too, which I suspect not!

    Can't you get a stylus thing like the weather guys have so you can write on the screen to circle or point out what amps your using? The live multi-camera thing is pretty sweet, maybe get a diffused light for the camera focused on you. The light hitting your head is pretty washed out in these 2 Valeton vids I've watched. Other than that very good video/sound quality as always.

    If I wold need something small to bring along to a gig, it would probably be one of the Dappers (or the Tech21 FlyRig they apparently cloned). Great units!

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  7 лет назад +4

      JanDeluxe78 they didn't clone the FlyRig... they most certainly stole the idea, but it's not a clone... I played the FlyRig and it was very disappointing. The Dapper beats it big time when it comes to sound!

    • @TheOligoclonalBand
      @TheOligoclonalBand 7 лет назад

      That's interesting. I played some Tech21 stuff over the years and wasn't disappointed, so I thought the FlyRig would be a good product. It certainly is a great idea. But it's good to know that the concept apparently really works great with the Dappers. Thanks for clearing that up.

      @dennispost7903 3 года назад

      I have one of these and the boost is for gain so it’s kinda useless for lead and also a little useless altogether considering the insane amounts of gain this pedal has even without it. a pre/post switch would have been legendary

    wow, they cloned the Tech 21 Fly Rig already? Maybe the pedals sucked(I saw the demos, they were bad) because those were their own thing, but this they literally straight up copied, so it turned out good. I love Joyo & Mooer & Moen, but this... Is it just impossible to sue companies in China? Just wondering...

      Hey Tony... I head the FlyRig... played it... it is very different from the Dapper series... obviously the Dapper pedals are inspired by the FlyRig.. that is where they got the idea, the concept, but I have to say that the Dapper sounds better than then FlyRig... must certainly DI, but also in front of an amp. They are great pedals that have nothing to do with the Tech21 products, except the concept.

    I just trusted your evaluation of this item before buying it from Thomann and after trying it for one hour I regretted so much to have listened to your favourable comments. Luckily enough Thomann is now prepared to take it back and refund the money I spent. It's in real facts a lousy pedal under all the effects contained (they're all terrible) and this undermined my faith in your judgements. Perhaps this is good for monkeys.... meaning that they might have less expectations. Sorry mate but I didn't like this shot.

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  7 лет назад +1

      Giancarlo Paolini sorry man, but it sounded great when I tried it! what amps did you use it with?

    • @giancarlopaolini7529
      @giancarlopaolini7529 7 лет назад

      Fender De Luxe, Blackstar HT5, Kemper clean amp and with the cab sim straight into my Steinber UR22.
      All effects sounded pretty poor or better ... perhaps there are much better effects around so that the Dapper's ones sound ... sh...y to my ears. For about the same price there's the Boss GT-1 for example that sound way, way better. I'll keep watching your videos anyway .... just to keep an eye on what's going on. By the way, you remind me about a German colleague I had for a few years in New York (driving his car with a D sticker.)... you've got the very same accent when speaking in English ... but you're much better of course :-)
