Beautiful story! Also in me Tata Indigo brings good memories. It reminds me the good times of childhood. In fact, until I was 10 years old, the Indigo had a fair presence on the streets in Italy. Now that I'm 21, I'd like to buy it someday. Unfortunately, however, there are very few left, and the few that are for sale are in pitiful condition.

I'm still using marina LX diesel 70hp TCIC turbo, non crdi, version, reliably after 15 years, good space in boot, as it's station wagon, you don't get this space except in Toyota Innova! even seeing today's cars! it actually gets confused with innova from a distance! and not looking too big like a bus like innova! you said sound is loud but not so in my car , you need to replace piston rings and crankshaft bearings etc which i did after 80k km, its quite smooth after that. Many people said couldn't hear it coming ! plenty of torque to overtake any normal heavy traffic on roads or highway is relaxing to drive this car, comfortable for me & passenger. I've driven it 12 hours at a stretch! you're right clutch is bit hard but not as hard as mahindra bolero! but on highway clutch you may not use much unlike city neck to neck driving may be a pain on foot with this car but so is the case with many other cars (auto transmission is best for city neck to neck inching in traffic). I get 20kmpl before i got 24 kmpl in LX diesel version. it was 7.5 lacs the "Sport" fully loaded version. i do all mtce myself with oem parts from tata and help of my trusty very experienced mechanic.
I also have a 2005 Tata Indigo Marina Diesel Dicor top of the line LX variant and it has factory central locking, all power windows, small ash tray pockets in rear doors and has a 71 HP Dicor diesel engine and I love it

Up to 2015, Indigo had a fair presence also on our Italian streets. I really like this car, because in Italy (and in rest of Europe) small wagons like Indigo Marina are very rare to find. I'd like to buy it someday. Unfortunately the few Indigos for sale here are in pitiful condition.

in my area there was only one car of this model and I always thought that it's owner modified it in this way and today I know this was made by Tata in station wagon form
Yes, TATA introduced the big station wagon first with TATA Estate many years before anyone else. It was ahead of its time. Fiat Siena Weekend was Fiat's station wagon version of the Fiat Siena sedan in India. TATA Indigo Marina was the TATA Indigo station wagon version. Fiat Palio Adventure was the station wagon version of the Fiat Palio compact car in India. Out of these, TATA Indigo Marina and FIAT Palo Adventure were the latest and very refined. The model he drove was a badly maintained garage reject. There are TATA Indigo Marinas running around for 15 years+ in excellent condition with very little noise and still giving 20 kms to 24 kms mileage per litre. I hope TATA relaunches an upgraded Marina like they are relaunching the TATA Sierra.
Exactly. On our Italian streets, until 2015, Indigo was a fair presence. Nowadays there are very few left, so they became very rare to see on the streets.
Marina was byfar most beautiful of Indica platform cars, would love to see this station wagon type look on sub4m sedans which by the way in their present form are useless. Full size opening boot is far more practical.
Safari, Indigo, Indigo Marina bring back childhood memories. I remember an Indigo Marina parked at my old society. It indeed was a great Estate car by Tata!!

Faisal, that was just fantastic! I still remember when I was a kid and we had taken a test drive in a marina but bought an indigo lx though. Nevertheless, marina had the best air-conditioning when compared to it's siblings back in the day.
Stations wagons should be relaunched again in India..they are so handy and a very good car to buy ....for long rides and to hold a lotta baggages. Station wagons come back in India❤️
I agree that the Indigo/Indica cars and their spin-offs weren't as desirable, though my family had two Tata Indigo diesel sedans, both LS variants; one purchased in 2003, the other facelifted version in 2006. The 2003 version had a turbocharger without an intercooler, while the 2006 model had it, along with the TDi badge. The first car that I ever drove in my life was the 2006 TDi one, after which I learnt a lot of my driving on the 2003 Indigo. The 2003 Indigo was given to my grandparents, before we purchased the 2006 version. The engine note might be irritating, but I, due to nearly all of my childhood being spent with both cars, have grown to love it, and now miss them very much, to that extent that I keep dreaming about us purchasing them back after having had sold them both in 2016.
My father also had the indigo marina which he bought in 2006 and it was in use till 2019..we drowed a total of 386000km within the time spam and yeah I learnt driving in the same vehicle....the problems which you mentioned about the hardening of clutch , accelerator paddle and gearbox never happened in my car maybe the car which you are driving in this video is not serviced properly.
If yours is diesel variant, may i know mileage of the car? I am planning to buy, i am fan of this car. And give me more details also suggest me can i buy or not(i have got one car listed in olx)?
its mileage ranged between 12 to 16 kmpl. If the car is in a good condition then you can buy it. Though if any part breaks then it will be a task to find the replacement part even from the tata service centre. (Parts unavailability in our city was one of the major reason for selling the car)
I completely agree with you! Also in Italy the Indigo and Indica were sold, and they were great low budget cars. But at the time the Fiat Palio was considered better, only because it was Italian.
