A bit nostalgic for me…… Nearly 20 years since I was last in the UK, but then for several seasons in the 1990s I used a similar TW25 and green five furrow rig to plough a couple of farms nearby in Cambridgshire….. After finishing shearing for north Bedfordshire shearing contractor. Then I was based at the St John's Arms in Melchbourne. Interesting to see the countryside in the videos. Must get back to check it out again some time. Was a bit of a step up on the MF35 I first ploughed with in Canterbury NZ back in the mid 1970s
Now thats a good work out for her, hope you can find some more weigh for the front end make her bite a bit more George. great to see and love that shot under the axles brilliant.
Spent many an hour on a TW 25 great tractor 30 years ago! Before that I had 9700! Have to say though, when my old man got me a 4650 I thought I'd gone to heaven! The Ford couldn't hold a candle to the big JD! Great videos George! Takes me down nostalgia lane!😀
Nice to see a TW at work nowadays. (The reg on this TW ends in VL..so maybe supplied new by Harris's of Epworth..?) Amazed at the nit-picking comments below too..enjoy the vid ffs!
Its a 150 hp tractor. It should handle 6 x 12" just fine. Fords always smoke a little when they are put to work. That said the soil looks really dense. That can soon require 10% extra hp to pull the plough through
Another thing that is almost always left out in the comments is which size cut. There is a significant difference in power requirement between a 16" and a 20". 5 x 16" in normal to clayish soil should be a piece of cake to pull for a 150 hp tractor, whereas 5 x 20" can put a 150 hp tractor to work.
Wow we put the duels on for this work to eliminate any wheel slippage, slipping wheels is a waste of fuel and power, we have even gone to the radials for the bigger foot print the tires have.
great machine george.love the old ford.
That cleared the old girl's tubes, nice video with some great angles, awesome!!!
Love these old Fords! They sound great!!
as an old Ford mechanic i would say ...this is well balanced ;-) greetings from germany !
what a great tracter this is.

Love the contrast btween the fast track and the t, dub, "come on son i,ll show you how its done",. lol..
I do like this is a good video of ford tw tractor
I still love the COUNTY thou , - Made in Fleet Hants 5 miles away from where I live
Nice one mate
She's a good clean runner, some of the tws I've seen would be obscured by smoke when working that hard
Very very nice

@@torbenalstrup3902 it maybe 150hp but it's probably about 35 years old or more, I just meant maybe give the old girl a break
hm, she´s doing quite well for her age.....we had a 150hp SAME and 5 furrow were max because tractor was perhaps not heavy enough.
2 x150 liter of water in the front wheels on the Same does wonders. You are correct, tha Same ks kinda light. Good sometimes, bad in other situations

Brill video george bet you were smiling extra wieghts and she be right
why only 12inch furrows? is there something with the soil that you cant use 14 or 16inch plows
Certainly giving the old girl a good workout, better than her standing in a barn being looked at!
Was this video before the turbo and manifold replacement
a little to big plow there! but i like it!
+Gustav Andersson Its not too big...perfect mate to the tw25 actually
sounds like a train engine, hehe:)
did i see may-weed you were ploughing under ??? could be sour ol land ?? need some lime on er George !!!
How do you get a 125 hp tractor pulling a 6 furrow plough in heavy going uve not even slatted boards crikey
thats becaus its crankt up two 159 hp
150HP NOT 125
Bonjour George pas de problème avec le relevage ? (6 socs)
soil looks really hard, alot of clay
good job that field is flat. I don't think she'd go up hill
Dan Sneyd
Mary Hayes
me thinks tw is too tired for that job

Sweet to see the ole girl scratting
u need a JD
Is this tw25 gen ii??
No gen 1
does ford still make tractors?
They changed name to newholland
yes it is newholland now
αυτος και αν ειναι ασχετος ....
Me j have tw 25 with tm pouwerstar motor 7.5 liter un exploision my father tw 10 with 8670 pouwerstar motor un bom
So sad that their engines were crap. Other then that, for its time the best tractors you could get.
Best you could get apart from crap engines! That’s a pretty major caveat there mate!
🦧
🦧
look at the jcb smoke free look at the ford time for the knackers yard
To hard on it
Is it not possible to find drivers who know what their doing?
+Herb Houston in what way ?????
+madmax ower In the way you're saying the person driving doesn't know what they're doing. Why is this?
well they are just testing the tw on the plough nothing wrong with that is there
+madmax ower no, its a good video
+Andrew Morley Yes exactly but some people think it's stupid or something
need more power)
Why.
love the old ford but video to long winded
Cheer up
look at the shit coming out of the exhaust best place for this tractor is the scrap yard or for show use only
ian jeffcock ur full of shit its just a good work out
the old ford has seen its day time to move on and i am not full off shit i spent many years working with these old tractors
ian coupe20v cause the new tractors have adblue in there exhaust what prevents that black smoke you dumbass
Other makes don't smoke then???
@@iancoupe20v43no other word for it, you are thick.
