  • Just to see what this new model has to offer I put it on my Roller tester and ran it for 20 minutes. It steams up very quick, within a minute, but that could also be the still very warm weather. She is a perfect steam maker, and from what I could see during the tests she is powerful too. The engine ran like a dream and I look forward to run her on a track this weekend to see what she can do there in the open air.

    Cool!
    I'm hoping to get one of these before the end of the year, I appreciate the demonstration. My nephews love model trains but we are just getting into live steam (we went from O gauge to LGB G gauge to Marklin Z gauge & now we're going all out).
    I got my 2 nephews into model trains after their mother's divorce, about 8 years ago, b/c Xavier would hide & wouldn't talk about what was upsetting him. I told him I'd buy him model trains if he would just talk to me. Since then, he's been doing very well. I look forward to surprising him with one of these at Christmas. Thanks so much for your demonstration, it's much appreciated. -- Ty

      I can tell you that you and the boy`s won`t regret this because it is an elegant looking model and very good runner. Please check out the rest of my channel, there is so much more B1 footage on there.

    Lovely! Kit or factory built? And what repair did you need to do to the loco?
    Thanks, Sim

      This was one of the first RTR models and I had to replace the super heater tubes and the Banjo bolts in the smoke box. The original design wasn`t right.

      @@MrBramMoos Thanks for the reply, Bram. Am expecting a kit in June, I trust they've got the super heater issue sorted!

      @@simwebb6938 For sure they have, already last summer it was done.

    She looks to be an excellent locomotive she was flying on the rollers

      Yes she is, and I had to hold her tender on the track to prevent that she would leave the roller tester :)

    This is a fkn ridiculous question and I might have missed it in the video but is it coal-fired or is it electric? Also, what mph did it reach on the rollers? The wheels were absolutely flying

      @MrBramMoos  3 года назад

      No problem, this is a Gauge 1 live steam model running on Alcohol and this was the first test after a repair that is why I let her run so fast, to see if everything was alright.

      @@MrBramMoos running on alcohol - interesting! Do they make coal-fired ones in this gauge or are they a bit too small to be fidgeting with a firebox etc? Also this is the gauge of the original TTTE models, its cool as hell how big they are in this gauge

      @gorcbj 3 года назад

      @@hornbytrainsets There definitely are examples of 1:32 scale (Gauge 1) live steam locomotives that run off of coal, but I wouldn't know if this specific locomotive is available as such.

    Any reason why you moved the pressure gauge?

    • @MrBramMoos
      @MrBramMoos  4 года назад +2

      No, because of the shaking of the model it moved itself, but I have already replaced it for a smaller one. Also no leaking any more.
