    Hi, really nice vid. Brought back some good memories. Lived there in Linford Green back in the early 70s for a couple of years when I was 9-11yrs old. Loved the place. Enjoy your uploads.

    Glad to see Rathcoole, I've never been but know of it from watching the Rathcoole Proddy Boys, one of the best FBs around!

      @ yeah, makes sense given the size of their band! Can't wait until I can finally come see Ulster for myself. I want to come find estate pubs to drink in, really meet the locals

    I knew the Monaghan family, nice people.
    I was born in Rathcoole and lived there for 40 years.
    Used to be a great estate in the 60's when very mixed.

      Sadly the way a lot of estates went at the time. Mind you these days Rathcoole seems to be improving, lot of improvements to the estate, driven round a lot worse

    4:18 wow, what a complete surprise to see that same Honda there blocking traffic. Too much to ask that they use the layby 10 seconds walk behind them?

    Hi There
    I’m not to sure about them facts about the size of Rathcoole more like a local urban myth .any proof to back that up.
    I’m sure there’s lots bigger about .Knowing Northern Ireland we claim to have the biggest of everything lol

      When it was built it wa the biggest social housing estate in Europe, that's a fact. It isn't anymore, think there is a Parisian estate that's bigger. It's definitely ulster's number one though 👍

      I’ve often heard that Wythenshawe in Manchester was the biggest social housing estate in Europe. I’ve heard that Rathcoole was too.
      But how do we really know ? I mean have you ever seen the size of the gigantic high rise housing estates in Russia, and the other former communist countries of Eastern Europe.

    Robert Monaghan a catholic gentleman who went to Stella Maris Secondary School on the edge of Rathcoole, was murdered by UDA/UVF In Rathcoole, like so many more. Why? He was a Catholic.

      @@TheBrick-j1bLoyalist paramilitaries murder lots of innocent people randomly during the troubles mainly innocent Catholics at random purely coz of their religion. Numorous times they murdered random people they seen on the street believing they were Catholics when in fact they were from there own community ( the protestant community)

    • @shadowmanNI
      @shadowmanNI  7 месяцев назад +2

      This was also true of republican murder gangs, who loved nothing more than murdering protestants, countless examples of this. The republicans had the fact that the army/police were visible ( in terms of uniform/vehicles)- for loyalists, they did not have this "luxury " when targeting republicans
