Brilliant. I can't believe all the designs that use a piston crushing system. There's supposed to be something like 30 aluminum cans in a pound. They'd take forever to get enough crushed cans to justify a trip to the scrap yard. I look at this thing and I think....production line.
All ya need now is a 13 horsepower Predator Gas engine at 1800 rpm, You gonna git major crush going. Good Luck. Looks like an automatic ball pitcher for batting practice.
Bigger pulley on the wheel and/or smaller on the motor for a slower speed. I would also suggest that this be shorter in height, that way, you wouldn't have to lift large amounts of cans over your head. This is general is very cool. I should help my dad build one.
I'm planing to build one similar but use a gas motor on it for more power so I can dump 55 gallon drums full of cans through at once and it will load my trailer as it crushes them
This is what happens when your state doesn't mandate a 5 cent deposit and you have too much time on your hands. Leme see... at 20 cents per pound of cans how long will it take to make back your time investment? Might more economically feasible to build one and sell it to the scrap yard....or set up a booth at WalMart and let people crush their cans for a buck while they watch. People will spend a buck on anything, right?
Not exactly child proof but I really like it ! I will have to make one in the Philippines and make it turn by hand with a big circular pipe on the outside to turn by hand.
As for people adding extra weight in Bales, you can like that. Add a small stone in the cans will add up and by them being crushed like that should not rattle. Years ago I weighed 12 oz cans at a Road side veggie shack scale. It took 22 cans for a pound.
I plan on making one like this but I'm going to try using 15" mower wheels liquid filled for ballast. I don't have electric motors laying around so I'm thinking angle grinder.
Fantastic, I saw a science project like this with six smaller wheels. But it was safely covered. If someone gets their hair in that wheel, they're going to get hurt badly.
For safety, when safety is added, suggest safety frame around pulleys, kill switch, and longer chute. Any other safety ideas?
Got an update for this design yet? Asking for a friend.

I had a idea close to your crusher, your crusher is the best one I've seen And I've seen a bunch of different styles. 👍
A bigger pulley for just a bit slower speed as mentioned but I like.

Some guards will be nice too, keep you from getting yanked in like a wood chipper, minus the shredded to bits part.
yeah i just used what stuff i had, hate spending money on a prototype, the reason for the tall legs is so a 55 gallon barrel will fit under it.
That's sick. That recycler can't handle this volume lol.
1 tire x 2 = so many uses besides transportation.
I had the same idea a few years ago. Glad to see someone built one, and that it works.
How does one determine the size of the pulleys? Thanks.
Lol to old to crush cans by feet but still moves and welds heavy ass steel! 😂 Awesome video
A little bigger motor or geared down a tad and it's a super speed and capacity can crusher.
Just a thought could you have put a motor on the other wheel also. Wouldn't that take up the slack for the other motor/help it?
I have to admit that is very clever. Thanks for sharing. Keep on crushing.
A little more power seems in order for batch processing.
Keep your hair short if running that thing!

Is the motor turning only one wheel, or are both wheels being powered?
Only one is powered
What size pulleys are you using? What size motor

Nicely done
Hi, Does it work also for PET bottles?
Yikes! Cool, but very dangerous.
is it better to use full cans or empty ones?
Empty.
jeremy western 😂
This is the best one I've seen.
i think it should be low from floor or make a lifting belt to lift cans to the cone
Them bearings are noisy!!!!
Great job!
Thats awesome! !
Cool stuff! Don't blow a flat! LOL

I would like to build this.. What are the materials..?
I build roads and if I want to crush cans I use a roller and its done in 5 minutes and they are still in the bag
good setup

An angle grinder has quite the RPMs.
nice...are those tires filled with concrete?
so getto . ....LOL.....ima stick with my handle old school type but since I now have stones from so much soda , the hell with it.
kick ass bro
what power of your motor..??
Fantastic, I saw a science project like this with six smaller wheels. But it was safely covered. If someone gets their hair in that wheel, they're going to get hurt badly.
And hopefully they will learn to watch where their hair is. Take all "safety" guards off and let the gene pool clean itself up!
We aren't interested in "wanna" or "gonna". We're interested in "did".
That’s a good idea.
Well sir, quite an expense in materials but hey, it works!
This is a suped-up Jugs pitching machine..Name it the "Widow maker."
Dangerous!
This could also hull black walnuts
I would love to get the blueprint for that
Condolences on the Corsicamino. Dang it. uhh - you get a video of its engine blowing?
Are the tire hit one another
put a basketball hoop above
What's the power of that motor??
1/3 hp electric motor. said in the video somewhere :)
Don't quite your day job to join the NBA crushed lol
This video is soda pressing.
Your comment fits so well and sounds like something I would come up with.
Thanks for the smile.
hhhhhh good job man
go drive your car back n forth with layer of cans on the floor
What would happen if when it's running you put ur hand in it where the cans are supposed to go
my guess is it could suck you into a secret dimension :)
It wouldn't recommend trying it. "Very effective machinery can be built, if, safety is blatantly ignored"
Hi, Can you build one for me?
Email: agra@usa.com
your hand *CRUSH*
(it a joke btw don't get mad pls)
