      resources are not so much of an issue (it's not so difficult to buy more food) but space under roofs are. Poland had not enough houses flats and apartments before the war and that influences the conditions available for refugees. Building new houses takes time.

      True. Imagine your family members staying over for months. Now imagine people that you are not related to staying over for months. It may work out for many but in general it's difficult. It's not a Polish-Ukrainian or a refugee issue. It's a human nature issue.
      Now, two months into the war, it's time for the Polish government and the EU to step in. I am Polish living in the US and was a refugee in the early eighties. I would not want to live with a family for long because they are a family and I would feel like I'm intruding. It's better if the government or international organizations pay for the accommodations. Give the refugees some privacy and a degree of independence.

    I’ve watched hundreds of hours of vid on RUclips and quits a lot at the border. Many of those women and children had to walk miles to the border before transportation became more organized. As a woman taking a seat with no children with me would have seemed wrong. When my children were young I would have been past consolation. The children are the future and must be saved before men no matter the mens race. It’s just the way this world survives. But even without your report. It just didn’t make sense. These students lived in Ukraine with not a single issue for years - Poland was turning themselves inside out to help and inspite of the chaos were being very successful so there was no reason to deny access by race - only exception was for mothers and children and it was mandatory they be saved at all cost. Thank you

    • @miraj5569
      @miraj5569 2 года назад +7

      It's really strange, other countries have been helping their citizens to get out for weeks, ever since it was foreseeable that the tensions might escalate. Obviously the governments' lack of help isn't a reason to turn people away at the border - safety is of the utmost priority, no matter who made mistakes - but I do find it strange that that isn't discussed much. Every foreign government should tell their citizens where to go and to take flights back home. The African/Asian/you name it students need to be allowed to cross borders to safety and to be supported there until they can fly back home, but considering the sheer numbers of refugees arriving in the countries bordering Ukraine, I do get why there might be hesitancy to look at more long-term solutions if these people have perfectly safe home-countries they could go back to.

      It does not matter where they are from. Just like the Ukrainians, they are trying to get out of harms way. They could have at least let them got to safety. But as usual, the nature of the Beast always wakes up in white people. Only and animal will discriminate against other human beings, especially in time of war. I am glad the story went international. When it is racism, call it that.

Any order single adult people probably need to be checked more carefully. Not because of the race segregation. Its already 1 mln refugees in Poland they have to be careful and especially for the safety reasons of the whole European Union they need to check carefully as the border is the only Point of registration. What do they do next, where do they go, there might be no trace of it. They are just doing their job, nothing else

    One of the poorest countries of the European Union faces this challenge to the best of its abilities. I don't know anybody who hasn't helped in some way. People are taking in refugees while there isn't lots of living space to begin with as most people live in small flats. Money donations, gift donations. Volunteers who have their own jobs and lives are there at the train stations and the border to help in any way they can.
    I will be frank, while the stories of Ukrainians move us all to tears, having an influx of traumatized people not knowing your language often without money or a second pair of clean underwear to their name is hard. Imagine a group of complete strangers living under your roof. You would be kind of irked yourself at some point because of overcrowding or because someone broke your favorite vase by mistake or they were smoking when you asked them not to. Humans are humans. Nobody knows how long the war will last. Who knows if our educational system can handle all the kids as the classes were already too full before the war. And all that while COVID is still here.
    It's a bad idea to be ill nowadays because there are people rescued from a warzone that need a hospital stay because of their injuries. There isn't enough space or medical staff for everyone needing help. COVID-19 cases are not talked about, but of course, there is a dramatic increase. There is going to be two-digit inflation for the next two years and fuel so expensive it's best to buy a bicycle right now.
    Times are tough, the toughest in 30 years. Most Polish people would never say the things I'm saying because they are taught since childhood to grin and bear it, whatever life throws at them. It's poor form to admit problems to outsiders. So yeah, if you could NOT try to criticize people when you don't know a THING about them, that would be nice. Because you don't know a thing about us, you just operate on stereotypes or you make judgments based on some extreme cases and hearsay. I hope we will be able to deal with this crisis and everything will work out. I do realize that we could be in the place of Ukraine right now if not for NATO and the EU and all the sacrifices our parents' generation made to join these two organizations. Thanks for the video, Paddy. It is kind of annoying that we need a westerner to vouch for our virtues but thanks anyway.

      No, Russian troll! Putin is responsible for all deaths - first by taking Crimea and later paying for the rebels in Donetsk and Luhansk. This entire military and propaganda operation had been planned since 2004.
      Russia always works the same. - First, he distributes Russian passports, and then attacks another country under the pretext of protecting the Russian-speaking population.
