Thanks moomoo - This worked out perfectly for my 2012 Focus SE Hatchback. I watched both your "Remove headlight assembly" video and this one, and swapped out my fog light bulbs. I took out the stock bulbs and replaced them with a pair of Opt7 Plasma ION yellow bulbs... it all went like clockwork just as you described and didn't take long. Probably 35 minutes total, and that's probably because I had never done this before - and was being extra careful. Thanks again - your videos are GREAT!!!
Glad my steps helped. You need to remove something in either way to access the fog on this car, but I like access it from the top than from the wheel well because it's easier to see. Actually your speaker wire solution is already good, as long as you taped properly in the wire-jointed area for water protection.
Thank you for the informative video! The instructions were so detailed and thorough I was able to replace both my fog lights in less time than in took me to watch the instructional video you posted!
moomoo97 - thank you very much for your in-depth process on replacing these bulbs. I just had one go out, and always figured I'd have to go about removing a few of those interlocking plastic shields, along with all those pain-in-the-ass plastic clips. Your way looks much easier, and since its likely the actual headlight low/high beams are probably the next to go bad, figure if I can afford it, I should replace all the lights since I have to remove the headlight assembly anyway. Looks like it is just 1 screw on top of each headlight assy, somehow find that hard to believe, and hope you right on your reply to SKI in that there are no alignment issues when done.
great vid, thanks moomoo!!! this worked great for my 2014 Focus ST 3. I also used your remove headlight assembly vid in conjunction for getting at the fog lights, too. Everything worked great and didn't take long. The only thing I'd say is that I believe the fog light unit turned counter-clockwise to twist off, (not clockwise).
I thought my fog light blew out since only one was turning on. when I pulled out the light I discovered the wires that connect to my light got pinched and cut on one side causing them not to work. your video made things so much easier. anyways for now im using speaker wires to fix them unless I can find a better fix
there is an easier way. just turn your wheel in and remove 4 bolts on wheel well cover. fold back a bit and you can reach your arm in, disconnect wire assembly, take out light and repeat for other side. this way will only take you 15 minutes at most. if you take out your head lights, you run the risk of alignment issues (where your light will focus) with reinstalling them.
+Joe Hoinoski Yours is actually the 'standard' way to reach and remove the fog light bulbs on the modern cars these days, not Ford exclusive. However; I have a tight space in garage and working from the sideway is not always an option, let alone getting quite dirty when working through the wheel wells, twice! And no, the Ford Focus at this generation has the fix mount points for the whole headlight assembly to mount/dismount, working like LEGO, so the beam alignment is never an issue. Indeed, in order to reach any of the headlight bulbs for replacement, you'll have to dismount the whole thing and pop out the rubber grommets at the assembly because the whole light is an enclosed unit.
Mine is a Ford Focus ST. But other than the drivetrain and suspension, its exterior & interior is near the same to most other Mk3 Focus (2012+ model) There're already a ton of Ford Focus videos here for the exterior & interior reviews, so I don't need to duplicate those to bore everyone. :) Unless you have something particularly want to check out (which is not already on RUclips here).
Oh, thats a shame, theres a little 501 wedge type bulb in my mk3 focus 2012 model. ill do some exploring this weekend, See how I can change this, but first LED fog lights are going in.
moomoo97 Mine doesn't either :( The glove box sucks anyway. It's laid out wrong and if you put stuff in the wrong spot it won't close. Plus, no hole for the aux cable to come out of so you have to close it on those bending the wire. No usb either.
Pizza Delivery To be fair, Ford did put the USB ports inside the Center Console storage box in our Focus though, which makes sense than put it to the glove box for easier reach.
There are two ways you can do... 1) Remove the whole front bumper cover and unclip the bezel from behind the cover. 2) Leave the bumper cover on but remove the whole front under-trays under the engine & radiator. Although you have to lie on the floor afterward to unclip the bezel since the bumper cover is on the car still.
have you experience moo abit of "noise" of some none smooth pavement specially stone exposed from the concrete cement road? I notice it from the from wheel sound like a lose ball joint or sort of like it.. =)
I just bought some Spyder LED headlights which I'm going to install Sunday, and I bought some New Brights H11 LED headlights that hopefully fit in the fog light spot, same size, but they have ballasts and all. But 6400 lumens =) I was curious how much wire length our Focus' had, which led me to your video. Would it kill them to have added 6 inches of wire length to do it outside the hood? lol
Pizza Delivery I like the LED bulb tech but retrofit them into the lens housing designed for Halogen/HID will sometimes be a hit or miss. LED lights throw a lot of light but it is not focused, the beam floods out but does not project if the original lens housing is not for it. But let us know how your LED install in the Focus lens here.
I haven't brought my car to track or drag-strip to test out the actual top speed. But this car can go triple-digit MPH too quick and easy on an empty highway.
Which Focus model do you have? But in general, it'll be easier if you can get to it from the inside behind the bumper. Drop the skid plate thing from underneath and you'll see how to remove the assembly.
Blue is not an ideal color for Fog Lights because it actually gives out less visible light. Use either Cool White or Amber/Yellow color instead. If your Focus is also using H11 bulb for Fog Lights, I'd recommended you go search for "H11 CREE Q5 LED" bulb in White or Amber color....You won't be disappointed.
I think so as the principle is the same to reach the fog light bulbs. You may need to be careful when removing the headlight sets though. Try reference this clip of 2008 Focus Headlamp removal: ruclips.net/video/79hgvADVOvU/видео.html
***** They bound to be dirty due to their lower position at the front. For lens cleaning Windex or any windshield cleaner spray will work fine. You can also apply RainX on them afterward, which may delay the dirty water to stay and stain on them.
you have to have the longest thinnest arm in the world to get to one of them fog lamps. the one with the longest wire to it is very difficult to get to. no room to get to it

Bravo! Glad to hear you're taking the time and being extra careful to get the job done. Enjoy your accomplishment, and thanks for watching too!

Will be doing it this weekend. Thanks

Thank you, sir! I dig your Video.
Thanks for watching, hope the videos help you in some DIY area.

Good tutorial. Appreciate it. Thanks
Hi, you going to do a video on how to change the glove box light?? All your other vidoes are top! They all work a treat.
Thanks for the notes. My Mk3 Focus doesn't come equip with any Glove Box Light though.....

Hi moo can you video in deepth review of your ford focus exterior & interior of your car? What trim level is that?
Hey moomo, what would you recomend I use as an led replacement bulb for the focus foglight? I want to use a blue led if possible.thanks

how much top speed did you just run with your ford st moo?
I haven't brought my car to track or drag-strip to test out the actual top speed. But this car can go triple-digit MPH too quick and easy on an empty highway.
I would like to unmount front fog lamp cover, just to paint it. Could you give advice how to remove it safely for bumper and this cover in itself?

DonPedro6901 I see. In this case I think this video will help you to take the cover out. :)

You are very helpful man! That's great! Thank you very much! :)
I unplug the grey clip but when I try to pull the bulb out it's still attached with 2 metal wires or something
Hi how do i remove the fog light bezel? Ty

Can the same method apply for 2008 Ford Focus moomoo?

how could i clean the plastic fog light lens? I'm getting HIDs soon and it looks kind of dirty

What if my wires are messed up?
you have to have the longest thinnest arm in the world to get to one of them fog lamps. the one with the longest wire to it is very difficult to get to. no room to get to it
You can still get to the fog bulb from the conventional bumper's bottom opening.
the passenger side is a bitch if you have large hands/arms.
