Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm are reminding us what Chase Utley and Ryan Howard used to do back in that era of the Phillies. 7-10, 3 doubles, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 runs. The best hitting tandem in MLB this year.
@@Rytoast99 I don't care about track records. I said THIS YEAR. What's so hard to understand about that? And Juan Soto may have a World Series ring, but Harper has the better career out of all these guys.
I've noticed something about Schwarber. 95 % of the time he gets to go from 1st to 3rd on the next single... It's amazing. 🎉 But I'm also amazed how catchers still try to frame the ball when its out of the zone even though the pitch is a swinging strike. 😅
Bryce Harper is likely to win NL player of the month for June. Hes literally hitting .385/.467/.718 for an MLB best 1.185 OPS for the month. Its an insane run. If he continues to win 3 player of the month awards along, with a SS and him playing 1b with better defensive metrics than guys like Freddie Freeman hes going to be MVP no matter how much MLB loves Ohtani.
If he gets 140 RBI with less than 20 HR, that would be highly impressive. And it would be the first time in MLB that a player had at least 140 RBI in a season since Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder both had 141 RBI in 2009.
@@__jack________________2225 If he doesn't have 15 HR before July is over, he probably won't get to 20 HR. He's not a power hitter. He doesn't need 20 HR anyway.
@@wook1990he should try to continue to bulk up though. Bigger guys like Judge and Ohtani have shown that you can be a high average, and high slugging% player. Think about how many of Bohms pulled line drives, and pop flys that hit the warning track could actually become HRs if his exit velocity was up 2-4 MPH. He reminds me of a young Stanton in Miami where line drives and missed barrel pop flys would just keep going out. Bohm does have the frame for it
Mercado had a great debut. Leave him to take Turnbull's place while Turnbull goes in the starting rotation. Then DFA Walker and Soto because they sell every time they pitch.
Can someone please explain the Triple for me? They had a runner on third and first. The hitter knocked one clear out to Nola, that's one out. Then Nola to Harper puts the first base runner out because he was trying to tag back, so now there's 2 outs. I'm trying to get how it's a Triple because the third base runner had ran home. I'm a newer fan to baseball and I'm learning but this one had me confused. Harper took his time to throw to third but no one was running there. HELP
The Philadelphia Phillies franchise was a mess before Bryce Harper got there. What are the chances JT Realmuto signs that extension without him? Does Zack Wheeler go to Philly? Do Schwarber and Castellanos both sign? How about Trea Turner? Does Alec Bohm turn out to be this good? He turned that entire franchise around.
Every team in baseball does this, so your comment has no merit and you sound like you don't know baseball, hardest thing in all of sports is to hit a baseball
Somehow my previous comment was deleted, but I'll come back to point out that 1. there are weaker teams that have fewer strikeouts than the Phils, and 2. the Phils rank 4th in RBIs and home runs in the MLB right now. And that's just the offense side of things. They also have a pretty solid, though certainly not perfect, record in fielding. You can look up the stats pretty easily.
Checking back in and you still have that logo. Oh well. Haven't watched Phillies in a couple weeks. There no reason that logo has anything to do with baseball. Wake up.
Every team in baseball does this, the Phillies are definitely not the only ones, the Phillies just played at team not long ago that struck out 15 times, your comment has no merit and makes you look like you have no baseball IQ SMFH, not only that they had 3 dudes starting that should in the minors, Stubb's, Dahl, Pache
This is why we love Bryce. 4-0 against a pitiful team and he's stretching singles into doubles. Hustle leadership from your top paid dude. 💪
He's on an MVP type level this year

Trea is getting into the swing of things, too. Get Turner, Harper, and Bohm hot and watch out.

It makes me really happy when I see parents so proud of their kid.Hope Mercado succeeds in the big league.
The Phils recorded the winning run before the first out of the game!
Truly, but still love those "extra gravy" runs.
Welcome to the bigs, Kid. Grats GO PHILLS!!
The triple play was awesome! I love how Stubby was pointing to Bohm at 3rd to get it...
Firing on all cylinders boys, keep it up 😎
It's amazing they had at least 15 strikeouts and able to score that many runs and hits

Harper may well meet, or possibly exceed, his home run total of last year by the All Star break. 2 more dingers to reach that mark.
He's definitely on a heater for the past 3 weeks, top 3 candidate for NL MVP, when he's hot like this is he is pretty much unstoppable
Nice home crowd for Phillies at Citizens Bank Pa- wait, they're in Detroit??
:)..Everybody loves a winner...
GO PHILS!...It would be awesome to see them go all the way..TRIPLE PLAY - YO!

Let’s go phillies
If they can stay away from injuries and not peak too soon. Very good things will happen.
Way to go boyz 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Game was over on that Error on the Schwarber leadoff at bat ...love that dirt landing strip between the mound n homeplate...⚾️✔️

he's 31 how is he almost retiring? we probably play at least 8-9 more seasons
Let go Phillies
