I have this car I love it :) 120k miles in and just started adding performance upgrades on the old genuine parts new intercooler induction charge pipes the lot all ready for remaps, what did you think stage 1/ stage 2 was getting? I’ve already taken the Xhpf gear box remap this car is brilliant even when you think u have no fuel somehow you can drive 80 miles lol 😂 and for 120k miles only issue is the intake pipe has broken yet still drives and it was plastic so what can I say! 😂
Are these electronic wastegate or pneumatic N55? I have a EW m135i that is running more power, I am just wondering why that's the case? I am keen as I want a bigger car with good economy.
Reliability is relevant to what you compare it to. Old corolla? Not so much. Modern early development hybrid that can go fast - yep, not too bad. Keep in mind by now most of them are 8-10 years old, so battery may not be in best condition. Can these be fast - absolutely. Do they fail in the same way as standard N55 335i does? Absolutely. In short - if it has been looked after and got proven service history - semi reliable.
@@EuroSurgeonNz really been interested in these, just waiting for the perfect one to come along fully spec’d can’t complain for the price here in the UK you can get a top spec 2015/16 for £16000 with around 50k on, what are these like for the daily driving with comfiness, fuel etc ?, does the hybrid motor make a big difference

@@rossthompson1078 The BMW 330e with the B48 engine is more reliable than this. And it can be tuned to stage 1 to be faster than a stock 335 Active hybrid. 330e doesnt sound as good as this tho, since this has a 6cyl and the 330e got a 4 cyl.
Hi There, just a quick question. If you change the exhaust, does the sound of starting up gets annoying when it constantly switching between batt and ice power while driving? Thanks
@@edisonberisha9776 I own the Activehybrid 5 as well. I emailed MHD before even thinking about buying bootmod. They responded with it wouldn't work. So I'm glad I got in touch with them first. The N55 motor in the Activehybrid 3 and 5 is the N55HP. There very specific customizations and logic in the DME to handle the hybrid drive. And then it still needs to talk to the electric portion of the drive train as well. It's a very complex system and no off the shelf tuning package will work. If anything, they can cause damage. You need to get to a professional tuner who has experience especially since eBoost mode, Vanos AND Valvetronic need to be tuned. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Valid question actually. If it’s loud enough- yeah pretty annoying. But personally I like quiet exhausts :)
just keep driving it in sport if you don’t like the switching, or put it in eco pro but put the stick shift to the left so it doesn’t use the battery
A friend told me there is a very rare F30 AH3 B58 motor, is that true???
My friend had a F30 335 AH3 and after remap, the battery is shown overheat and power cut, any idea of this caused?
battery charge is controlled by completely different area to a remap. unless someone went poking where they shouldn't - that's unrelated.
Have the same activehybird3 2014 am always worried about the battery will it go bad it’s only at 107000km
sadly, just a matter of time.
