    Just like Hot Fuzz, there were so many hilarious moments that I couldn't fit them ALL in this reaction, of course. But again, absolutely hilarious movie and I hope you all enjoy!

      The 5$ price tag to watch all her reactions is worth it. They really do talk through a great chunk of the film and are not just putting it all in the youtube edit.

    Do you notice how Andy says the bravest thing in the world is to walk into a pub full of tough guys and order water?
    At the end Gary walks into a pub full of tough guys and orders... water!

    I did a "Cornetto Trilogy Movie Night" years back and tried a "Golden Mile" of my own: 12 beers over 3 films.
    Sounds easy since it is spaced out, but there were also some home brew, very thick beers in the mix. By beer 9.....I think my body figured "We got an issue.....stop digesting. Get out....the way you came in."
    I did hit all 12 that night, but a few didn't go the whole path. Rather, passed back out the entrance.

    The first time I saw this, I was so perplexed and floored, I could NOT.STOP.LAUGHING!!!! The individual premises for the Cornetto franchise are so unique and charming, and the relationships between each of the actors maintains STELLAR chemistry.

      Tho she should be warned it’s not an Edgar Wright-movie so it’s very different in comedy style from theses 3

  • @CosmicShadowMari0

    This is honestly my favorite of the Cornetto Trilogy. Gary King is one of the most well-written characters out of all of them in my eyes, and all the events and tiny details and connections that Edgar Wright's movies are known for end up having much more of an emotional impact than the others because of it.

    • @naiderl
      @naiderl 2 года назад +3

      Same! Gary King is a great character and allows Simon Pegg to really show his range as an actor. I also love how this movie's premise leans even more than the previous two into that uniquely british brand of dark weirdness. And as you say, the emotional impact goes deeper too.

  • @control2XS
    @control2XS 2 года назад

    I mean I often call each of the trilogy my favourite ever film at different points, but all for very different reasons.
    This still has the same incredible callbacks and humour, the classic editing, insane fight choreography, but the thing that sets it apart is the depth!
    There's hints throughout that he was never planning on coming back: the bandages on the wrist, the hints he has been in therapy before, the fact he had no luggage with him... and that scream: "It's all I've got!" makes me tear up every time.
    Masterpiece.

    Remember how Shaun of the Dead went from a rom-com to a gore fest? And how Hot Fuzz went from a buddy cop film to a splatter-gore movie? Your expression at 10:17 tells me no.

    Low-key kind of my favourite of the trilogy. Realistically, I know it loses its way a bit as it goes on, but Gary King is such a great performance, and the theme of getting older/returning home/moving on is so perfect for the generation of viewers who grew up getting to know these guys through Spaced and Shaun of the Dead. So I just kind of love it anyway.

    Don't know if you'd do series but the cornetto trilogy really evolved from a show called "Spaced" with pegg, frost, Wright etc. If it wasn't for Spaced, there would have been no Shaun of the dead. Its hilarious you should seek it out.

    I grew up in a town similar to this, actually very close to that train station at the start (High Wycombe Station), and man that "I fucking hate this town" scene rings true. I was pretty much the only one of my friendship group that left, and now 10 years later I have basically 0 in common with any of them. Black holes man.

    I unfortunately couldn't get into this one as much as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Probably the major issue is that, as much as I support actors going outside their comfort zone and seeing how much range they really have, Pegg and Frost swapping their typical roles here ends up just showing how much they fit their usual characters much better. Pegg as the super immature and offensive guy is someone you just want to slap after a few seconds, rather than how Frost can make them really fun. It also peaks way too early with that first bathroom fight, which is equal parts funny and suspenseful as Edgar Wright as his best always pulls off, and then nothing that comes afterwards can quite match it, especially with how it never makes much sense that everyone would insist on continuing a pub crawl during an alien invasion no matter how wasted they already were.

    • @fjparasite1172
