    Thank you! To help keep springs or little ball bearings from moving is to add some grease on the spring, detents. Creates just enough friction to keep tiny parts in place.

    I am a FFL gunsmith for past 30 years. This gun has been on my list for being overly complicated . Yet, it is mechanical sound and only ever had to clean four. Nothing really happens to them otherwise.

    You don’t have to remove the stock to do that. Just leave it attached to the action.

    I installed my ejector spring and ejector with a little gun grease to hold it in place. Only two attempts to get put it together.

    gotta say browning guns are not the easiest to disassemble, you need all the small tools and improvise, but works wonderfully.

      Actual JM Browning designs were often straightforward. 1911 and SA-22 are both wonderfully simple examples

    My ejector spring got bent then lost straight after today.
    I gave up. Buying a new one online and letting someone else put it back together

      Lost mine as well. Looked around, almost gave up, was outside by the grass. And just when I was about to give up! There it was! Put some grease on it to stick it in the recess.

    Do you have to strip it down this far to clean the barrel every time?

    • @apexcustomrifles
      @apexcustomrifles  4 месяца назад

      No, you could get away with running it through the muzzle end first and exiting the chamber end. They sell little bronze coned bore guides for this purpose so you don't run the risk of damaging the lands near the crown.

    I have 2 of these BL-22's, both have feeding/cycling issues. Sometimes the rounds won't cycle properly and I have to use a knife or screwdriver to help (nudge it up a bit) to get the round into proper position to close the lever/bolt. Do you know what would cause this? Thanks very much in advance, cheers...

      Mine was having light primer strikes sent it back to browning and they sent me a new one. It was within the year of warranty

    No wonder Browning doesn't recommend doing that. Good to know but unless I drop my rifle in the water I won't be trying it.

    Hello, I have a brand new Browning bl 22, should I open it up and oil it before I use it?

    • @oldrabidus2230
      @oldrabidus2230 Год назад +1

      Companies use cheap oil/grease to save money. There is better lube out there. However, running your gun using cheaper lubricant will break it in faster. I’d wait until 1-2 shooting sessions before breaking it down and applying new lube. Plus if you don’t put it back together right you won’t know if it was your reassembly or the gun that is at issue if you have feeding/cycling/shooting issues

    Amazing but ridiculous amount of machines parts in there!
    Would a three shot revolver shotgun be a lot simpler to make?

    Maybe you should have also shown how to free the magazine tube to slide it forward, removing the fore-end and barrel bands.
    There is a set screw inside the bottom/front of the receiver that needs to be loosened to slide the magazine tube out.
