I've spent an immense amount of time working on getting better at photography. Whether that is on YT, in the field, with other friends shooting, etc. What I can say is, for others that might be reading this, Alex has had the single largest, best impact on how images come out post edit. This guy is legit. He is humbling. I don't even write comments. I had to write one, because if you want to get better at editing in LrC, and really give your photos that "pop" you want, continue to watch Alex. Thank you Alex for your channel.
Scott that is some very high praise and I really do appreciate it. Always feel free to let me know what else I could be doing or ideas you might have. It's hard finding a happy medium to educate wide ranges of experience levels. I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know, comments like these keep me going :)
@@AlexArmitage Although I may still be an amateur photographer, I needed to give credit, where credit is due. I've watched countless other channels, and this one hits the mark. Every time. Thanks for your channel and continuous content.
Right on Alex.... excellent video on the hows and whys of bracketing. I already understood this mostly, but you always add these little details to the basics that make your videos more interesting, and makes us better photographers. Thank you.
Really great tutorial on exposure bracketing mate, very well put together, great point made that with technology even older gear can still be powerful!
@@AlexArmitage For AEB on the r5 do you know if it adjusts the iso or the shutter speed? I keep my iso at 800 since that's the native ISO but I see you were using iso 100.
Thank you, Alex, Here is something that I had learned when I was making the first steps to create a panorama, ALL the time when you take the photos for a panorama or exposure bracketing one picture make a new folder for each pano/bracketing it will make your life easier when you try to edit them after a long time. I love my Canon 6D and if you permit me to post a link to my site where I had used your presented photo technics in my food photography. Waiting to get a new tripod(6kg tripod at the moment) and start taking those nice landscape bracketing photos :) and for a new video too! Regards!
Screens can represent a much larger range of luminance values, and they are getting even better with higher bit displays. Print is a different beast and vastly differs based the print, what you're printing on, etc.
Melissa, I still bracket with my R5. The EOSR would be somewhere in between. It's really only needed in really dark/bright shots. I'd try it a few times in the field and see if you actually needed to do it once you get back to editing.
I like the way you tech without any wasting time. All word has logic and understandable.

Thanks so much Peter! Glad you found something here when you already knew the subject.
Thanks Alex. Clear, concise and relevant.

Thanks Rauri. Felt pretty good about this video and put a lot of effort into making it concise.

Hi,have a good day,os possibe or not make hdr photos Keith the Lumix fz 300 in autobracketing. Thanks a lot.
Interesting however I don’t have to bracket. First off my camera don’t have exposure comp... as I shoot large format and use a spot meter.
Hah, why on earth can't you exposure bracket on film! :) Hehe
Thank you Alex! Which metering mode should be used when doing exposure bracketing?
Definitely evaluative/full scene metering. If you use spot metering it might expose way off for whatever you're pointed at.
@@AlexArmitage Thank you!

I'm curious - how much dynamic range can we see on our computer and phone screens? And also, on various print mediums?

Do you think with the EOSR people will still need to exposure bracket much? Not sure how it compares to the 6d as far as that...
