HAHAHA
fine, I'll say it. I am in love with this long form conversation filming style. hearing people talk passionately about something that they love is one of my favorite things. love the video, thanks for sharing Kristen
aww thank you! long form convos are my favorite (hence why I have a podcast lol)
Kristen you are a bomb chef! I would say that you have more skills and better instincts than I do, and I know my way around the kitchen pretty well.
I have my own traditions and ways that my family has taught me to cook Thanksgiving dinner, but I couldn't stop watching this and thinking how helpful this would be for someone who wasn't taught the basics when they were young. It's so thoughtful and endearing that you wanted to share all of this with us, and you are clearly very passionate about food and the comfort and happiness that it can bring to an occasion.
I AM very passionate about all of this! It's nice to see that you and others see that too 🤍 I wish I made more content like this but my imposter syndrome kicks in and I often feel I dont have the credibility to give this advice. its comments like these that motivate me 😊
The pre-story hits differently when you actually like the person giving it. I too am a savory girl that doesn't care about dessert, love you girl!
Love it! I’m vegetarian and my family doesn’t ever accommodate that during thanksgiving lol, so I decided that this year I’ll be bringing my own food so will be preparing my own thanksgiving meal for the first time.
Have you ever thought about teaching like cooking basics 101 on your channel? You could make a series of it. I would absolutely watch, I was never taught how to do basically anything in the kitchen and although I’m a bit better as an adult I’m still clueless to a lot of stuff, like even the best way to chop vegetables. I’m sure many people would enjoy!
all of these dishes can be veggie! (aside from the turkey obviously)
anything I said that calls for stock, just change to veggie stock :) i've done beyond meat in stuffing before and it was delicious!
This was honestly so ducking helpful. I’m cooking thanksgiving dinner for my husband and his fam for the first time and this could not have come at a better time. I’m pumped 💪🏻
I’m hella late but future dessert tip: get a box of chocolate pudding mix, 2 cups of your milk of choice, about 1/4 of a tub of whipped cream, about 2/3 of a package of Keebler fudge grahams, and a pie crust (we use graham cracker crust). Crunch the cookies into tiny pieces, mix it all together, pour it into the pie crust, pop it in the fridge for like 15 minutes. It’s soooo good. My mom makes it every year and I started taking it to other thanksgiving and I always get hella compliments on it!
Omg!!! Needed this ❤ my baby is hospitalized and this is the perfect timing for my stress. Love u Kristen
sending my love! stay positive ❤
The big sister I always needed 🥲
just a girl from the uk here sat watching and about to convince her family to have a thanksgiving dinner this year
DO ITTTT
@@KristenMcAtee I’LL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON EITHER HERE OR PATREONNNN
KRISTEN :) I can always count on your vlogs to give me comfort
We don't even celebrate Thanksgiving and I almost went vegetarian after I tried turkey the first time, but still I feel this video was more useful than half of my lessons. Thanks, Kristen💕
my mouth is literally watering after watching this and i'm so hyped to cook for my family next week! this will be my first thanksgiving taking over the kitchen, and i even have plans to make a pizza using allll the leftovers :) love you Kristen!
a thanksgiving leftover pizza?! you're. a. genius.
Thank you for this video ♡ you've gotten me motivated and excited to start prepping 😁
Yaaaaay McAtee!!! Needed this after a work day. Hope all is well and prepared for thanksgiving. Enjoy your holiday and save me a plate😉 luv you buh bye❤️💋
i rly watched this like i am actually planning thanksgiving,,,
hahah knowledge is power
Cold in NY but it's colder here 30 degrees burrrr..Happy Thanksgiving Kristen. Love you 💜 GMA
Definitely helpful , the whole preheat hotter is so smart . Thank you 💚
glad it helped!
I've been making the cranberry sauce from your video 3 years ago ever since it came out. It feels like one way I was able to help contribute to the thanksgiving dinner as my mom always takes everything on, but also it's so delicious.
its the best and so so easy!
The best way I’ve made mashed potatoes so far is add sour cream and herb and garlic cream cheese to it! Just after you blend them like normal I just do it to taste I’m telling you it is a game changer!
I knew today was gonna be a good day 😊
Dude I legit was done watching your cranberry sauce video and then i see this little surprise 😊
This is my first Thanksgiving dinner I’m cooking and I’m so nervous, this definitely helped with my anxiety a little bit
prep and you'll feel so much more confident!
Definitely will take that advice and also some of your ideas 👀 Putting buttery garlic mixture under the skin sounds like it’ll make the Turkey taste soo good
omg this is perfect timing bc i have a friendsgiving coming up😭😭
TAKE NOTES BABY
i’m a everything but turkey kind of girl like i like turkey but i rather eat the sides, rolls and the dessert more lol. this year i’m bringing pecan pie, banana pudding cupcakes and pumpkin tres leche
banana pudding cupcakes omfg
@@KristenMcAtee yessss they’re so bomb
Hiiii kwisteeen I always comment on the very beginning just to let you know that you are gonna make me feel good after this video even if you dont do nothing haha, have a nice day bye gotta go enjoy this video
hiii! I hope you have a good day too ❤
OH MY GOD! Another one of us who doesn't like pumpkin pie!
Ooooooh fun perfect video for you to do!!
Hiiii!!!💛💛
ahh finally the yt notification worked!! 💖
YAYYYY
Big sis vibes with this one 🥰
coming from a little sister, this is everything ive ever wanted lol
I swear Kristen is naming of seasonings and ingredients like she's been in my kitchen before. I know for a fact she hasn't 🤣🤣🤣 I bought all my side stuff at the beginning of the month and I do ham instead of turkey bc a turkey won't fit in my studio apartment oven lol
beginning of the month omg you're killing this prep work! mmm the ham will be divine (especially if you have all those staple spices I named hehe)
My new holy grail ❤
Thank you ❤️
Love you Kristen ❤
love u 💕
Me being 19 years old watching the entire video like I’ll be cooking my family of 8 thanksgiving dinner 😃
hey maybe one day
😍😍
miss girl, let me know if you wanna be a therapist BC I GOT PROBLEMS and can’t afford it
yeah pumpkin pie kinda sucks 🧡
real ones know
Hi I love you
🤎🤎
You know it’s gonna be a good day when Kristen McAtee uploads a Vlog for sure I Love You So So Much you’re my favorite Comfort person ever and just in general 😊😘🥰😆🥺💗💗💗
As someone who celebrates thanksgiving in October watching this brings back everything i love about thanksgiving food ( even if in my family we celebrate it VERY differently)
Everyone in life needs a friend like you. These are just the best lil comfort vlogs to end the day with :)) super informative also
😊
Watching the process of you actually cooking on thanksgiving day would be soo satisfying. I looove your cooking videos
if my kitchen wasnt the size of a closet I would totally do it hahah maybe next year ill get a camera crew or something
Awe Kristen!! I throughly enjoy the vlogs. I’ve learned so much from you & Alex :) you guys are the sweetest! I can’t celebrate Thanksgiving this year, at least not in the traditional way, so this was sweet to watch
🤍
I’m waiting for Vlogmas! It’s in 9 days and I’m so excited!!! I live in a New Zealand and we don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving but I am thankful to have been following you since waaaay back and to see you live your bestest life! Keep it up 🥹❤️
Cheering you on from all the way here!
(Also it’s summer here and I miss the cold)
It's so interesting how different Thanksgiving dinner is in different cultures because I never see white people make mac and cheese, but for black people it's a staple. But you guys always make mashed potatoes and we rarely do. And then others cultures just have they're own food not American food
This was helpful! But I also would’ve LOVED to see B roll for all of this. Thinking of filming your meal this week??
Girrrl I'm from the South(Tn). Pumpkin & pecan pie are such a big deal and I cannot stand them! Give me a good ol cheesecake or some brownies! Lol
would be SUPER cute to have someone animate this so there is also a visual!
I agree! I need to find someone hmmm
This video couldn’t have come at a better time. This will be my first year hosting thanksgiving at our house. So I’m in charge of the Turkey. I love everything you cook so I’m definitely more confident about it after watching this video because I was nervous it might come out dry. Thanks Kristen for this video! Love youuuuuu ❤️
you got this!! so glad I can help
My dad passed in March 2021 and he always helped with the turkey so i decided I would make it. I was terrified but I just took my time, did a simple little apple, onion and herb stuffing(I do this to keep it moist/flavorful, we don't actually eat it) and an herb butter under the skin, tent with foil and it came out perfect. I'm making my 2nd one this year and I'm so excited! You've got this!!
thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and in such a calm and not overwhelming way. I hope to one day make a yummy thanksgiving meal with friends & family in the future and will definitely refer back to this video
My family has the food done between 12 and 2 and we eat at that time and continue to keep eating until the football games are done 🤢 but I love it 😅 you gotta pace yourself haha.
I love your videossss
I need to come by your hoise for thanksgiving 😋😋 yumm
This brings me so much joy, I love when you talk food to us! I remember the cranberry sauce video and still think of it fondly! I just knew you were gonna give us the deets in this video and now I’m on my way to buy a bread knife to cut my turkey!
Can’t wait to come back to this vid one day when I host thanksgiving ❤
One day Kristen should make a cookbook!!!
one day
@@KristenMcAtee Yes Love you!!!
thank you!!!!!
YESSSS
I can't wait to cook. It is my favorite time of the year.
me too!!
KRISTEN. I could cry. I’ve been trying to distance myself from my family, especially for holidays, & I needed this tutorial more than you know. It’s been giving me such anxiety trying to figure out recipes and how to make the holidays feel homey while being alone
for whatever the reason may be, im proud of you for creating the boundary you need ❤ holidays can be so much energy!! last year and this year, im not spending it with family either and it has been nice to have chill holidays. no expectations, PJ's all day, and as quiet/loud as YOU want!
take this holiday to get creative in the kitchen and try something new! flavors and dishes you want! sending my love 😊
I saw your doppelgänger in Seattle today. She was wearing an army green cargo ish jacket and she had these same black sunglasses I’ve seen you wear. She was walking somewhere while eating a banana. It was a vibe. It had me stoked for this vlog.
wooooah my long lost twin. eating a banana too lol on brand
you’re so soothing to watch. perfect video to watch after a stressful workday
aw thank you Thena 💕
kristen. im aussie and thanksgiving doesnt exist down here. i couldnt care less about how to cook a thanksgiving dinner but your voice is so calming i could just sit and watch you talk for hours. i love you so much kristen. thankyou my love!!
❤
This will be the first year I’ll have to cook by myself. My husband is sick and quarantined so we can’t go to the family’s dinner this year. This video made me so much more confident!
have fun with it! experiment and dont be afraid to mess up. you got this! I hope your husband feels better soon, stay healthy ❤❤
I literally don’t even cook, but I was so invested into this video & learned so much 😂
try cooking now!
Oh my god that blanket looks insanely comfortable! Did you get it off of Amazon?
it's Skims!
You always have the best posting timing , was feeling a lil off today and your video's always just pull me out of a bad mood ❤️❤️
im glad I can help ❤
I don't even cook but just wanted to watch the video so I did lol
well now you can school whoever is cooking
One small suggestion for a video like this. I think it would add a lot to have some visuals. Either you writing a list/plan realistic or animated or like cute little food animations or pictures from a previous Thanksgiving. It would break up you talking to camera.
thank you for this! I totally thought the same thing but I honestly rushed to get this out considering thanksgiving is next week 😰I'll keep this in mind for the future
@@KristenMcAtee No sweat! I love anything you put out. It’s smart to put it out before Thanksgiving. It’s probably more of a projection of my problems with having a short attention span or it just speaks to a collective short attention span that everyone has now. If there isn’t a change to break something up, I’ll drift off a bit.
I’m heading to NYC in a month, as someone who’s gotten used to the area, what’s your recommendation of a must see that most people don’t know? Love ya videos!
Idk if this helps, but my favorite part about the city is simply walking around. bundle up and just walk! observing the energy of the city is the biggest thing to experience here. other than that, I would say go restaurant hopping! little appetizers everywhere you go so you can have a taste of several places 😊 some of the best food in the world is here!
@@KristenMcAtee definitely! Already planned on Bryant park from your last video! Thanks Kristen 🥰
Me watching this and taking mental notes knowing damn well the only thing I bring to Thanksgiving dinner is pie 🤓
bring eggs and cinnamon sugar, that'll really blow them away
@@KristenMcAtee roast meeeeee. Also, I know I clearly have no credibility but I'm going to put it out there that my pumpkin would change your opinion
Needed this! First year having to make everything for thanksgiving and I am so so nervous 🤍
I promise this prepping will make you feel more calm and prepared. like I said, its half the work!
Biggest thing is to make sure if you have a frozen turkey to give it at least 3-4 days to thaw in the fridge. You've got this!!😊
Marty Me ...Kristen.
it’s a long vlog too 🥹 Kristen if u’re reading this please upload longer videos, they make me feel like i’m with a company 🫶💕
noted hehe
Literally I don’t celebrate thanksgiving but I will definitely use this video for guidance if I crave a thanksgiving meal 😇❤️
Thank you for grandma 👵🏼 tips & tricks ✨🥰
