I have thé expedition version of 4,5 lt, I found a solution to the water bottle problem, usin the wolft tooth b- rad to lower the attachment of the water cage and i can use 2 bottles of 750 in my 52 size frame with the expedition bag at the same time
These look nice, though you can get the Topeak ones for a third of the price (£33 vs £90 here in UK). My saddle bag is great and comes with a free dry bag just encase things get really wet. Will be purchasing a topeak bag for some summer adventures this week.
I didn't even realize we could get Apidura in the US. I don't think my 58cm 920 would have the same issue with the water bottle as that bike has two sets of bottle bosses on the down tube and the lower one is positioned extra low. Definitely would not work on my wife's 920 which is a 52. I think it's wolf tooth that makes an adapter which allows you to lower your bottle cage, could be useful for riders with "normal" bottle cage locations.
Minch The Grinch I have a lot of their stuff and I love all of it so far. I have their 20l panniers, 5l panniers, top fuel bag, stem bag, and their small frame bag. All are great quality.
Loved my Apidura until the zipper failed. Like you said in the review--the zipper is a bit of an issue--the overlap has a tendency to get caught in the zipper. It ultimately broke my zipper.
thanks for the informations. I like this bag but it is so expensive (around 102 euros the 4.5L). For 48 euros you can have the 4.5L Topeak Midloader which is nice and enough.
Not long after watching this video, I've bought the Expedition 5.3L compact frame bag for my Trek Checkpoint (size 58) and it fit perfectly. Went for the Expedition because of the waterproof, but also the 5.3 L is one of the only bag I've found that allow me to store easily my pole tent that are about 18in (msr hubba nx 2) and still keep a good and neat look for the bike. Also, you can still easily access your water bottle if you dont fully overpack the bag, but if you dont plan on riding on class 4 road, I would suggest you to buy water bottle holder that you can load from the side for an all around easier setup.

dude holy shit. I ride a 52 you may have solved my problem
Number of burritos should be the new unit of measurement for frame bags. I just bought a Revelate Designs full frame bag rated at eight burritos.
Agree!
=D
I want the bag that keeps the rain out of my burritos!!

Would love you to do a review of the Alpkit bikepacking range. UK based company 😁

Do you think the back country would fit a salsa journey man? Thanks in advance!
Great review. Would be cool to see you take a look at the bags from Restrap, too.
Did you try the old trick of rubbing the graphite from a pencil onto the zip to lubricate it?
I use that bag for commuting and touring and its held up really well. I put my wallet, keys, and stuff like that in there.
It’s a great bag!
This helped me pick the Expedition version over the Backcountry. Thanks!
Hi Adam! Do you recommend the Expedition bag after this time??
@@sjarouge I live in a rainy climate, and the expedition bag has been great for keeping stuff dry, so yes.
I wish my Oveja Negra frame bag had a port for a hydration hose thing
Hi, on apidura web site l've read that backcoutry bags areters resistent, so from your experience are they afraid of rain?
How about their handle bar bags?
Loved my Apidura until the zipper failed. Like you said in the review--the zipper is a bit of an issue--the overlap has a tendency to get caught in the zipper. It ultimately broke my zipper.
Is your bike frame (with the orange bottle) a 52 size?
Have you tested out the Apidura saddlebags or handlebar packs?
I am looking for frame pack that uses vislon zippers. Coil zippers in a frame pack will fail.

Both look like they will fit my full suspension bike . integrate a gas tank bag in the mix ? Then the tank bag wont rotate .
Just purchased the Expedition, the quality is awesome. The 4.5 liter fits my 55 Vaya perfectly. Puts my Revelate Designs gear to shame.
They make good stuff!
cool

How much abuse can the zippers take?
I've had mine for a couple years and no problems. I use it to commute to work almost every day.
